My room was dirty. The toilet was dirty like it had just been used. The towel had a pubic hair, there were holes in the carpet and the chair. The worst thing was a black tick like bug I killed. After that I knew I had to get out of there. This place is a health risk. Please don't even... More

I'm not usually rude in my reviews but this hotel, conveniently located near the subway, has to improve. This is my second time here and probably will not return. You have to walk three floors before you get to your room. The room I got on the third floor was quite small with no space to maneuver around. The bathroom... More

Well, upon arrival I thought we had booked quite simply the worst hotel in the city! We had driven up from Toronto and arrived at 1am, much later than we had thought. The road outside of the hotel is closed to traffic, and was choc-a-block with noisy drunks from the bars directly opposite. We parked our car up the road... More

I stayed here with a friend almost six months ago for two nights. It's not a bad place like you've probably read about in some reviews. It's a budget-minded place to stay that's close to quite a bit. The staff was nice to us, and it seemed clean to me. It's not the most modern place in the area, but... More

This hotel was a big disappointment for us. We've read the reviews prior to booking the room, but somehow hoped that the worst ones are not exactly true, but they unfortunately were. After ringing the bell downstairs we got to the building which had a ready old nasty smell that was not only in the hallways, but also in the... More

The whole hotel smells funny. The staff is unpolite. There is no real cleaning, I got myself FUNGUS in my arm by using one of their blanket, this tells a lot about the cleaning! Avoid this place at all costs!

I had a great time there with my sister. The employees were very nice and helpful. The price was really good for the location and breakfast that was included. The only thing that surprisedme was the size of the bedroom. It was kind of small

Honestly after reading reviews on here I was expecting far worse than it actually was. The hotel is kept clean and you can tell the owner works hard keeping the hotel running good. Parking was decent and no where as bad as everyone has said in reviews, I was never asked once to move my car and there was 4... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.

“Dirty Place”

“The room was just right for one person and would probably be cramped for two. The bathroom was tiny so some people may be uncomfortable. There were no windows but a skylight. There was a deadbolt lock which did not work. I feel that if someone wanted to walk into the room they probably could without a key.”
