We like Montreal and try to get there every summer for few days. Last stay we selected Le Germain because of the modern, European look and feel and we were not disappointed. Great breakfast, room and room service (few nice touches), good location. Prior years we stayed The Fairmount and Hotel Gault and we will definitely be back at Le...

Really like this hotel... very modern and all rooms are updated and have a light, clean look to them. Rooms are also well stocked. Service is good and helpful whenever I've been there. I've never had dinner there, but their breakfasts are really tasty... but what really tops it off is their home made peanut butter! It is absolutely stunning,...

Stayed at Le Germain overnight for two day escape to Montreal, on a holiday special. Staff could not have been more hospitable or accommodating, allowing us to check out at 6 p.m. with no extra charge, just in time to catch our train.Healthy and abundant breakfast included in pleasant dining room. Comfortable room. We will definitely be back!

We stayed for a three night short trip to see Montreal during the week between Christmas and New Year. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and bathroom was nice with a separate area for the toilet. Warning: the shower can be seen entirely from the bedroom with the blinds accessible only on the bedroom side. Interestingly risqué idea...

I really appreciated some of the french touches for this hotel - from the guys in black and white stripped shirts to the wonderful check-in procedures. The bathroom was beautiful (though risqué given a single door which handled both the shower and bathroom itself) and had a window on the shower with a view into the bedroom.

We stayed here 2 weeks ago for a 5 day visit to Montreal . We had a warm welcome from all the staff after our flight from London . The foyer was festive and stylishly decorated . Complimentary drinks available after a cold walk outside . A problem arose on our second night which was outside the Hotel's control (...

I first stayed at this lovely boutique hotel 10 years ago, and when I needed to book for an overnight visit to Montreal I booked it with confidence on the hope that it was still a great small hotel. Not only was it all I remembered but even more delightful. Warm and welcoming, it is clear from the moment you...

Stayed here for business and was very impressed with the hotel and personnel, who went out of their way to make my stay great. Only drawback would be the lack of bar scene but otherwise everything was superb. The rooms comfortable and everything designed conveniently. Would recommend and will return.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
