We had a great experience here. The place was spotless. The rooms were nicely decorated, simple but chic. Breakfast was delightful. Eggs were always perfectly cooked and coffee was always fresh. There was also a wine glass cabinet upstairs if you feel like opening a bottle of your own wine during your stay. Location was great too. BBV was 2...

Bed & Breakfast du Village is welcoming, cozy and delightful. Phillippe and Nicholas are very accommodating, as well as sociable which was a welcome change from other B&Bs I've stayed at in the past in Montréal. With parking in the back, this place is great for anyone driving up from the States. I would recommend anyone stay here when visiting...

BBV is welcoming, clean and affordable. This was my and my partner's first trip to Montreal and BBV made it very enjoyable. The breakfast was nicely laid out with a wide assortment of goodies. It's in a convenient location, two blocks from Baudry station, so getting around the city was very easy. We didn't happen to do much in the...

This was my first time staying at the BBV, and I know I will make this my first choice for trips to Montreal. The house is tastefully decorated, the room was well appointed, and the service was exceptional. Phillipe and Nicholas were helpful in providing guides and information on places to visit and how to get around. The availability of...

Overall - a very good experience and completely recommend it. Philippe is a great host and booking and communication and all interactions were prompt and professional. The house is located literally steps from the heart of the gay village - you could not be closer to the bars and clubs unless you were in them. The block is safe and...

Over the years we have stayed at this great little place often and always found it comfortable, clean and convenient for our stay in Montreal. New owners have taken over the property and really polished the place and taken it to another level. The common areas have been done over and look fresh and clean. The breakfasts have been upgraded...

I can't say more than what's already been said in the previous reviews. Philipe and Nicholas are charming, welcoming and incredibly sweet guys who make you feel at home. The B&B is in the heart of the Village yet quiet and relaxed. We stayed in the cottage and couldn't have had a more peaceful sleep. The bed was incredible and...

The BBV is such a nice place to stay! The parking garage, the host, and the proximity to everything we could have wanted to do was perfect! Philippe gave us maps, helped us route our tourist sites, and was extremely helpful. The room was quiet and perfect. Very clean. Wonderful stay! And, for the GLBT family, it's in the heart...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
