Hotel Kutuma is a great little boutique hotel. I only stayed one night, just in town to take a class and then leave the next day. I choose Hotel Kutuma for its' proximity to my class location. It was a pleasant surprise to find it so nice. The room was wonderful, large and inviting and included a giant bathtub and... More

We loved our stay at Hotel Kutuma. Our check in was great, fast and staff was very welcoming. They have valet parking which we used. We were very happy with our room, 201. They have an African theme decor which is done very tastefully and is unique. Our king bed was so comfy and found the hotel nice and quiet,... More

Arrived by car. Signed in and clerk fetched our bags from the car and led us to our 4th floor rooms. Was thankful he carried the load. Then he parked my car and left us in peace. Great little mini-suite. Enjoyed the soaker tub. Check out equally a breeze.

The rooms are amazing! Very roomy! Super comfy beds. The breakfast is so good at the restaurant attached to the hotel. The dinner menu and service is top notch. Highly recommend this property. Also, a great location. I will definitely stay here the next time I am in Montreal.

What a wonderful hotel. The pictures don't do it justice, the room was so wonderful and had a boutique and unique feel. My partner and I are currently travelling around Canada from England and booked all our hotels in advance. Much to my surprise my boyfriend proposed to me the day before we stayed at Hotel Kutuma, so this hotel... More

A great neighbourhood, a small hotel, quiet and with friendly, helpful staff. All that we look for in a hotel. The room is very comfortable with facilities for making breakfast or lunch, microwave, nespresso machine, hotplate and kettle.

Hotel Kutuma is very well located if you want easy access to downtown and the Plateau Mont-Royal. It's a 2 minute walk from the nearest tube station. It's clean with a nice restaurant and pleasant staff.

I had just about settled on a run-of-the-mill chain hotel that might as well be in Alabama or Missouri when I learned about this alternative, which exudes the offbeat charm of Montreal's Plateau neighborhood. Our king junior suite, whimsically decorated with leopard prints and woven furniture, boasted an ample bathroom with window, a narrow balcony overlooking the local roofscape and... More

This boutique hotel was a real find. We booked suite 201 a short flight of stairs above the street level restaurant. It faced the street but was always quiet even with road work going on Rue St-Denis. The location suited us well as we used the metro to get around (5 minute walk) and could easily walk to the Quartier... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
