This was our maiden trip to Canada and Quebec City was our first stop. When we arrived at Hotel du Vieux Quebec, the old and charming quaint vicinity stole our hearts. It was so magical and we were so glad that we chose this boutique hotel for our stay.

When we booked the hotel, the hotel emailed to provide information on Quebec City and what it has to offer. As we were travelling during Christmas, they even helped to make dinner reservations for us on Christmas day. Thumbs up for this excellent service.

The room was exceptionally big, there was a fire place which made winter looked even more beautiful. There are 2 doors to enter the room; the 1st door allows you to leave your wet coats/jackets/boots in the space there while the 2nd door leads you to the room.

Seeing a cute picnic style breakfast basket hanging on the door every morning was a delight. The croissants, jam, pastries were delicious. They allow you to pick and choose the menu from the options given for the remaining days.

There are some games and a coffee station at the lounge which you can access 24/7. Or if you want some hot chocolate, please free to approach the staff. Nothing was too much for them. We were there during Christmas; so we had some delicious cakes available too. You can also borrow some DVDs from the Reception to watch; which comes together with popcorn!!

The location was awesome. It was a great base for us to walk all over Quebec. There were plenty of restaurants outside the hotel. There was even a McDonalds nearby for fast food.

We hope to visit Quebec City again sometime in future and Hotel du Vieux Quebec will be our choice again in a heart beat.

This property deserves a standing ovation!

It is a tradition for us to visit Quebec City before the holidays but this was the first time we stay at this hotel and we were glad we did.
Its location is great : 2 minutes from the German market , 5 minutes from the Champlain street plus close to a few restaurants for a late night supper.
The room was spacious and beautifully decorated with a stone wall that added some character to it.Beautiful lighting with the big windows.
This is a hotel that respects the environment (brilliant idea to switch from the small plastic shampoo and conditioner bottles to a disposal that is filled with them in the shower).
We loved that the breakfast came in a basket in the morning and it was delicious and fresh.
There was a little issue while flushing the toilet but we fixed it ourselves so it was no big deal.
I highly recommend this hotel , it sure was a great stay.

We stayed in a two queen room for three nights in early July and were very happy with the hotel. Staff was wonderful, really friendly and had many great suggestions for local attractions. Our visit was different than we expected, we were unaware there was a giant music festival in town, lots of people. But the hotel was amazingly quiet, especially considering it was on a busy street, and it was a very convenient location for walking to attractions, shops and restaurants. Breakfast baskets were a really nice touch, and we appreciated their efforts to be eco friendly. Beds were a bit firm, but room was clean, pretty, and quiet. Nice meeting room-lounge with coffee machine too, and parking garage was close by with easy car access. Really wonderful place in a wonderful city, highly recommend.

After researching trip advisor, we chose this wonderful hotel! We booked a superior queen room, which was the perfect size for our 4 night stay. It was immaculate with a lovely old stone wall and small kitchenette that came with coffee and tea supplies, a small fridge, cutlery etc. The small table for 2 that overlooked Rue St. Jean was lovely with all the Christmas lights up and down the street.

We had read about the breakfast basket that would arrive at our door every morning but couldn’t have imagined how delicious it would be! What a wonderful treat, without having to leave our room.

They also have a “lounge” where guests gathered (we were there over Christmas) to play board games, read or simply sit in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine. The cappuccino/latte machine and fruit supply was an added touch to an already cozy space.

We had to leave early when checking out and they were most accommodating to deliver our breakfast at a time convenient to us (or we could have chosen to take it with us).

We took the train to Quebec City and it is about a 10 minute (uphill) walk from the station. Staff is very friendly and helpful! We would definitely stay here again.

After 14 years, I came to this hotel again with a new modern interior!

This is a 4 stories boutique hotel at the centre of the tourist area, with a nice restaurant on the ground floor. The front desk is friendly and helpful. There is 1 elevator and 2 staircases. Free coffee and lemon water are available in the room and downstairs.

The rooms are of different sizes and we had a bigger room with 2 queen beds and a Murphy bed. The Murphy bed is much better than a sofa bed and feels like the other beds, the staff had set it up before we arrived.

The furniture in the room is tailored made, giving the room a coherent, spacious and modern feel. I had asked for a quiet room so my window was facing the back of another hotel, didn’t hear any noise at night. The washroom is pretty small, only can stand 1 person. The nice upgraded shower head has multi-functions and provides good water pressure. USB plugs are at the outlets. There is daily room cleanup which is quite uncommon during COVID.

The continental breakfast, $10 / person, has a lot of choices. The bakery is pretty good. It is hanged at your door in a picnic basket.

Loading is on the side street just around the corner. Parking is at nearby underground $20 / day. Room rate is reasonable in this area.

We just got back from our New Year’s vacation to Quebec and loved everything about our stay at Hotel du Vieux. Location was perfect, on a touristy street with plenty of shops bars and restaurant options. The staff at the reception were always very friendly and genuinely interested in how our days were going. Hotel was nicely decorated with Christmas decor during our stay. Couldn’t have asked for a better vibe. We stayed in a Deluxe King, room #305. It came with a nice fire place that we made use of every night. This room was very spacious and was the room were our family of (6) would gather before heading off to the city and to unwind upon our return. Bedding, couch and bathrooms were all perfect. Only small complaint would be a lack of cabinets/storage to unpack as we hate to live out of the suitcase, but nothing that really bothered us that much. Room even comes with a foyer/mud room of sorts at the entrance with a separate door before entering the main room. That helped with any noise we could have experienced being right next to the elevator as well as keeping the room dry from the snow and a perfect place to hang our coats that didn’t bother. The lounge area on the first floor of the hotel was very quaint and used by many guest during our stay. In that room you could play games, read, drink complimentary coffee including cappuccinos, lattes and such from a machine. Always had ice water available as well. Rooms come with DVD players and they have three binders full of selections. Just pick a movie and ask the front desk. They also offered free hot chocolate and popcorn if we desired. All nice touches you won’t find in other hotels. Staff also very accommodating when we needed to request taxis and offered options on attractions, sites and restaurants to visit. All in all it broke our heart to leave but we definitely will be back.

I have high standards for hotels but chose to stay here on advice from a family member. And we couldn't have been happier with the choice. The hotel is conveniently located in the old city and everything was just steps from the hotel. The parking was also very convenient but no valet option. Our room was spacious and super clean and new looking. The bed, linens, pillows were extremely comfortable. The breakfast basket was such a treat and gave us the perfect start to each day. It was also great to stay at a hotel that is so advanced in green /environmental initiatives - very impressive. The best thing about the hotel however was the staff! Fred and others went out of their way to make our stay lovely. My only minor complaint was that the fridge in the room wasn't big enough to store a bottle of wine and local strawberries and cheese all at the same time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We had a beautiful and quiet suite here and stayed for 4 nights. The hotel is conveniently located close to strolling old Quebec and close to restaurants. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spotless. We had a sitting area, work table and fridge. Wooden floors were an added feature. Air was filtered throughout the hotel and was noticable in the air quality. We enjoyed having the window open at night. The room was well designed with lots of room yet still had the feeling of an old building. Delicious filtered water was provided throughout our stay. An excellent variety of continental Breakfast items in picnic baskets arrived at the door of our room each morning. A Latte machine was available in the lounge which we enjoyed using.

Paid Parking was well organized off site.

The hotel is centrally located and has the most wonderful staff. We'd like to especially shout out Pierrot, who was kind enough to offer us popcorn when we were relaxing in their lounge (complete with books, board games, and snacks to help you wile the time away). The rooms were spacious and, my favorite, there were three different types of pillows on the bed so you can choose your preference. I wish every hotel had that choice. Splurge for the breakfast picnic basket, you won't be disappointed! I loved this place!

Spent 3 nites at Hotel du Vieux Quebec on a sisters trip. Not only is the hotel in a great location, but also the room was so-o quiet. None of the street noise penetrated the stone and brick walls in the room; room was spacious with 2 very comfortable chairs and lots of flat surfaces to put things on. Well designed! The staff was very helpful with directions, food choices, etc. We all looked forward to the buttery croissants at breakfast; hung in a picnic basket with napkins, etc outside the door. the Hotel du Vieux is a class act!

Upper. Close walking distance to shops and restaurants. Nothing is really that far and you can pretty much walk every where!

If there are no cabs available as was the case when we arrived, you can also walk from the train station to the hotel. It is less than a 10-minute walk, but be aware that part of the walk will be uphill.
