Overall we had a very nice stay. the hotel is located at the foot of the Old City and all of the charm it offers. Service was excellent from the valet, concierge, front desk staff and restaurant servers (specific thanks to Ariann and Roxanne, great job!). We didn't dine in the restaurant as there was never more than one table of diners whenever we walked by during dinner hours. This isn't surprising however, considering the wide variety of excellent restaurants literally steps away.

That being said, there are a couple of areas that can be improved, one of them easily, the other not so much. The breakfast, while not bad, was a very typical Marriott banner hotel breakfast. The continental was included in our room rate, but the hotel charged a $7 supplement for the hot options. The hot options definitely didn't warrant a supplemental charge. For a city/neighbourhood that clearly takes pride in their food, the breakfast was definitely sub-standard. This location ought to embrace their Quebecois roots and serve some local delicacies as well (and some fresh, not frozen, potatoes would also be an improvement). When perusing the a la carte menu I also noticed the difference between the continental and hot buffet breakfast was $6, not the $7 charged to guests entitled to the gratis breakfast. This smacks of nickle and diming and likely doesn't add much to the property's annual bottom line. Worth a rethink.

The bigger issue however lies with the sound/climate insulation with the room windows. The floors in the room (non-carpeted) were always cold, regulating the room temperature was extremely difficult (I set the thermostat at 26 most of the time, which is ridiculously high), and the temperature "sweet spot" seemed non-existent. Also, the road noise was incredibly intrusive. We could hear the regular traffic as well as the snow plows going by as though the windows were open. This traffic also is a constant because the hotel is on a major city thoroughfare. I urge management to go stand in room 413 at any hour of the day and listen for themselves.

When constructing hotels the sound and climate insulating properties of the windows ought to be of paramount importance. For a hotel group that has extensive experience in the industry, it seems that Urgo Hotels really dropped the ball here. When considering staying at this property bear this in mind, if there are any people with noise sensitivities in your group, they will definitely be effected.

Otherwise this hotel is a fantastic option for a Quebec City stay.

We stayed in this hotel during a WE early August. I have to say I'm surprised by the recent no-s-good reviews.
As a Titanium member, I have to say that our experience was flawless. Somehow they managed to upgrade me to a suite in the highest floor for the entire stay even though none was available for my second night.
The suite is worth the extra money. Very open concept, nice view from the bedroom, perfect layout with the bathroom communication to both the living and bedroom.
The rooms are modern, I believe it's been renovated during COVID as most of the pictures I see on TA seem to have old style furniture.
Location is perfect, 2 min walk from the old city and 30 sec to a city Parking (you can get a $25 pass with multiple entries, but you need to ask for it in advance as they have a limited set of these).
Nice welcoming staff, doing the best to accommodate
Sure, the breakfast during the COVID era wasn't the best experience as their restaurant is closed (you got a box to go with a few items) but you also have tons food options 5 min walk from the hotel
Great stay, glad I selected this property among the different other Marriott options out there.

I would characterize this as a standard Marriott hotel with an incredible staff.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for two weeks. The hotel has the basics I’ve come to expect at a Marriott hotel. What sets this hotel apart of all other hotels however is Emily and her incredible staff.

Delmys set the tone at check-in. She was always helpful and smiling. She even put up with my terrible French and, like all of the team, is flawlessly bilingual. Pascal the Head Concierge did everything to make sure I was happy from cleaning the back up camera in my car, to proving invaluable information and mopping the lobby floor. A typical staff response occurred on one brutally cold day when the valet was backed up and Catherine at the front desk put her coat on and went and retrieved my car. Emily was always engaged whether it was talking with customers or helping the cleaning staff.
The hotel is a typical Marriott: clean, functional room, gym with the basic essentials, a solid restaurant. The Platinum Elite upgrade is only a minor step up in room quality. Also, there is no Concierge lounge and you receive a $10 food credit instead.

Thanks Emily, Delmys, Pascal, Catherine for making my stay so memorable. You guys Rock!!! 😊

Great stay. Highly recommend!
Perfect location just outside the walls. From the front desk to concierge the service was 5 star. I’m sorry I forgot to write down names because everyone we encountered was so lovely!!!!Rooms are spacious, renovated and quiet even though ours faced a busy street. Nespresso in room which was a pleasant surprise! Any requests for towels etc were taken care of promptly as they do not enter rooms under current covid protocols

We stayed here on our third night in Quebec City. I was impressed with the little details in the room -- a mat just inside the door for snowy boots, rugs next to the bed to keep our feet warm, and bath products from This Works. The room was cozy and quiet. Very comfortable bed.

a couple of things could be improved on 1. the sliding door to the bathroom that doesn't provide privacy and 2. no water bottles in the room, so we had to buy them from the front desk.

Be aware that the front entrance is on a slope, which could be tricky for families or anyone arriving when there's ice. Alas, this is true for so much of Quebec City. Public parking garage is directly in front of the hotel which is great for saving money, but the garage is dark and a bit confusing to exit on foot.

We purposely booked this Marriott due to it's location directly outside the city walls and walking distance to the historic area with lots of restaurants and shops. It did not disappoint. The hotel is very modern, it is rather small for the usual Marriott but that is probably a good thing.

There is an area to pull your car up to unload, then you can park in the public garage a few feet from the front door of the hotel. It worked out well as we could access it as needed.

Breakfast is a buffet in the small restaurant in the lobby. The concierge was extremely helpful with dinner reservations and suggestions for the restaurant. He also helped us with transport to the Market place as there are no Ubers and we didn't want to take out our car.

The room was VERY clean. Room for luggage for all 3 of us. Good bathroom. An enjoyable stay.

The air conditioning was rather noisy.

The Marriott is well located for visiting the old city and is a pleasant place to stay. Without exception, the staff were cheerful and helpful. Our room measured about 320 square feet, overlooked Place D'Youville, was light and airy, and was quiet. It was equipped with a safe, fridge and walk-in shower. The bathroom was a little awkward in that it contained only the shower and toilet. The hand basin and storage for everything from towels to soap was outside the bathroom. In a 10-day road trip around Quebec, this was the only hotel offering an in-restaurant cooked breakfast. Although the quality was no better than average, it was much enjoyed and the COVID safety measures were notable. Parking is in a public garage which is so close as to not be an inconvenience.

Stayed in Quebec City for 4 nights which was longer than we expected as this hotel experience was beyond what was expected for a Marriott.

We have a 3yr old toddler, and dining staff were very accommodating and flexible in dealing with our needs. Service and helpfulness were superb and beyond what's normally experienced at a Marriott, particularly in heavy tourist cities such as Quebec City / Montreal

Rooms are spacious, fresh in color design and the upgrade to a suite (as an ambassador level tier) was appreciated.

Will definitely choose this hotel again for next year's Quebec City family trip

For those travelling with family and children, I'd recommend purchasing the $25/day parking card which includes in and out priviledges.

For price to location and room specs, this is a great value for Quebec city.

Spent two nights at the hotel this September, friendly bilingual staff dealing competently with the difficult task of managing the pandemic situation. Breakfast boxes in lieu of buffet were a great idea, location is perfect for old town visits on Rue St. Jean, right beside the battements museum. We had a great experience, thanks to all the staff and reception especially.

The location was great just outside the gate of the old City. We walked to most of the attractions. The rooms we stayed in was renovated and generally comfortable but a bit small. There was some confusion of how to get housekeeping service. We did stay for 5 nights and required room make up and cleaning which was not the best. Understand it is COVID times but hopefully high rated hotels will come back to providing these services as things open up. Parking is available but at the city lot next door at the standard rate of 25 dollars per day if you don not use the car. Over all good stay but lakes that special extra service one is used to at the Marriott

You are extremely close to the old city...probably a 5-7 minute walk before the shops and restaurants actually start (or less). Although some of the streets are cobblestone, not all of them are...nor the sidewalks so you should be fine for walking. If staying at the Marriott...if you exist the hotel on the side that has the courtyard...the street right in front of you brings you right into the old city. Ask the Concierge if you are unsure...the staff at the Marriott are very helpful. If you want to visit the Citadel which I strongly recommend...that walk will be a bit longer and a bit uphill...but the view of the city and surrounding area once on the hill will be worth the effort! It is truly a beautiful city and lots of great restaurants as well.

Not sure, but there are literally over a 100 shops within a short walk, so I can't imagine you couldn't get flowers close by the hotel
