Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We drove to Saskatoon for the night and stayed at the Sheraton for the night. We are on the 5th floor and east side of the hotel facing Spadina crescent. The hotel desk personnel are taking COVID 19 precautions by having plexiglass at the desk and keeping a distance away from the customer.
The room is nicely decorated and furnishings are nice with. King bed.
We sanitized everything we expect to touch in the room with disinfective wipes and we wear masks when we leave the room. The restaurant opens at 11:00 am in the morning, there is a Starbucks on site that opens at 6:00 am.
An enjoyable overnight stay in Saskatoon.

We stayed here recently for 3 nights right before the Coronavirus pandemic broke out. Our room was adequately sized and had a king bed with a pull out couch for our son. The underground parking was included in our booking and the room was priced reasonably. They have a large pool and waterslide area for kids on the second floor and a Starbuxks on the main floor. The restaurant is called Scarlett and has food that I can't recommend (I've been here 3 times and it has always been bad) We were in a room right beside the pool though, which feels like it was on purpose because we booked with a child. The only complaints are that they seem to stick all the families in the same area, and the housekeepers need to learn to close the doors, not let them slam when they clean the room.

Saskatoon has become my second home and the Sheraton Cavalier has become my “home away from home”. What an incredible group of people running this terrific property. The location is absolutely perfect and the staff can’t do enough to please you.
One of their restaurants,Scarlet, is such an elegant and cosy little place to grab breakfast, lunch or dinner. In the summertime their patio is beautiful with great views.
612 is a terrific little lounge with very friendly staff and they make the best Manhattan cocktails.
If you want an incredible steak in a beautifully appointed dimly lit restaurant, no further than Carver’s steakhouse.
I have hosted several people in all of these restaurants/lounges and everybody loves it. The other thing… When it’s -45 in northern Saskatchewan, they have indoor heated parking! (At a charge but soooo worth it). Also nice in the summertime when it’s +35 ha!
I am so proud to call this my home away from home and I always look forward to my next stay with them.

Keep up the incredible work… You have made me a lifetime loyal customer

Dale

The staff were extremely unprofessional, rude, and borderline racist towards my family while staying at their hotel for 2+ weeks (consecutively) with additional rooms books for my daughter, son-in-law, and for my daughters bridal party the night before her wedding.

I was told that I could not charge anything to my room from the restaurant with using room service or directly from the restaurant along with not charging from the Starbuck’s located in the front lobby and when asked why not, I was not given a response but rather snubbed by one of their female front lobby employees. I still had an additional night booked but was asked when I would be checking out as they were busy.

When checking in, I provided my Bonvoy rewards number to them and was told at check-out that my points would be added to my account, they were not. When I called to inquire about my points, I was informed that I would not be receiving them.

I let them know how disappointed was with their poor service, communication, and professionalism and was told that I could simply talk to a manager.

I live in BC and when I come to Saskatchewan to visit family during the summer months, I stay at the Sheraton. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and would urge caution to anyone that is Indigenous or of a visible minority when looking at hotels to stay at.

Do better with your employees, care for guests, and communication as it is LACKING.

I spend about 25 nights a year in Saskatoon alone, and thought I would try the Sheraton since I have been using Marriott more lately. I reserved a suite thinking with the cost and the hotel I would get to stay in a higher end hotel and room. I was wrong. The hotel itself is clean and staff is good, but it is very old and shows it. What I cant understand is why its so expensive, there is nothing about this place that justifies the cost. I usually stay at one of 2 other downtown hotels, the suite at my usual place is twice the size of the one I had here, far nicer and about $70/night less. Also as I have read from others here the rooms are cold and they limit the thermostat on how warm you can keep the room. Normally that would not be an issue but when it gets -30 out and there is little to no insulation from the outside walls the room gets very cold. Also know the "city view" I got was the roof of the parkade and some dumpsters. Reserved for 3 nights was gone after 1. Would consider this hotel again if they either did a major reno or just made the rates more in line with what the hotel really is. High end it is not.

We stayed at the Sheraton Cavalier for 1 night of our 15 days car tour around Canada. We enjoined every moment. Many places were slowly re-opening after covid closures. Sheraton was one of the best places we stayed. They kept all the rooms and public spaces clean and well sanitized while still maintaining full range of services: breakfast, pool. Exceptional team work!

The front desk went out of their way to be helpful. I was quite sure I reserved a room with 2 Queen beds on their website, but to my surprise the reservation said 1 bed. After some back and forth, they were able to get me a room with 2 Queen beds. The room was a good size with the 2 beds, a desk, a good size closet with safe and TV and refrigerator. The bathroom wasn’t large but was good enough with enough counter space for toiletries. The room was clean. The carpet was a little outdated. The outside, out back parking was convenient. I ate breakfast in the restaurant 3 times, each time ordering something different, and all choices were very good. I was told by locals that their Carver steak house is one of the best in Saskatoon. The hotel is in a great location – numerous restaurants are right around the corner and the river is just across the street. It is also a fairly easy walk (maybe 15 minutes) to the downtown that is across the river (down the bridge on Broadway) as well. All in all, I’d stay here again – but if I’ll be sure to check my reservation to make sure what I thought I reserved, is what I reserved.

We regret not switching hotels early on after several mistakes with our room that affected health issues. Staff initially tried to help fix the problems, which we appreciated. Unfortunately the problems persisted and new things went wrong daily, some that posed safety issues. Despite a couple of caring staff, we were unhappy with poor customer service by other staff. We had positive experiences at this hotel before, but will not be returning if we need a hotel in this city again.

The Sheraton was my temporary home for six weeks during the summer. In spite of COVID, the experience was fantatic. The property sits right accross from the park and river and a suite here with a river view is hard to beat in Saskatoon. Breakfast is excellent and Carver's serves the best steak in town (in my opinion). During my stay the staff, to a person, were exceptional. Highly recommended!!

My wife and me decided to take our daughter there overnight for her 7th birthday because she's been begging us for the past 6 months to stay at a hotel. Anyways, we get there and the first thing we do is to take her to the swimming pool. My daughter asked to go down the water slide and we get less than halfway down it and we get stuck. Other than the little stream of water, the rest of it is dry. It's not slippery at all and I'm pushing trying to get myself moving. There was a guy and his kid behind us and the two of them run right into us. The hotel's method of controlling people on the slide is a joke. It's just a green and red light. No staff to watch us from top to bottom, no checking to see if the slide is even useable considering what happened to me, and the father that crashed into me had the nerve to blame it on me. Anyways, after that I go to the front counter and ask for some ear plugs to sleep and the man can't understand what it is I'm saying. He says no and to add insult to injury, I can hear him scoffing at me when I walk away. And to wrap it all up the Cavalier restaurant was terrible, the wait time was worse and my daughter was falling asleep, and the food was a 1 star in my opinion. Never going back again! How this hotel is even a 4 star is beyond my understanding.

Hello KitK62, Our Club Rooms are available to any hotel guest. (Platinum SPG members sometimes receive a complimentary upgrade to these rooms when they are available, but anyone is able to reserve any room type at the selling price.) Club Rooms are a higher rate, however they do include daily parking, access to the Club Lounge (which offers daily breakfast for two, snacks and beverages, and evening hors d'oeuvres, along with business centre services). The rooms are larger than our standard guest rooms, have additional bathroom amenities and most feature one king size bed. If you are travelling with a family and want the additional Club benefits, I would recommend reserving a suite with a pull-out sofa. However, if you specifically want a room with 2 beds AND a pull-out sofa, the room you've reserved is the only room type with that bedding option. If you've got questions or specific requests for your room, it is best to contact the hotel directly at 306-652-6770 and ask to speak with an "on-site" reservation agent or a front desk associate.

Hello marce0606. Regarding our pet policy, we are very flexible as we understand pet owners may be brining in more than 1 dog and the size and weight can greatly vary. The one rule that we are very firm on, is that the dog(s) can not be left unattended. Under no circumstance can the pets be left in the room on their own. If you have any other questions, please feel free to call and ask. Cheers.
