If you are a self-reliant traveller and enjoy "funky & eclectic", this B&B is for you. Bernie & Pam were the perfect hosts who were very accommodating and full of information. There was a full kitchen available for use and breakfast supplies were provided. It will definitely be our go to B&B for any upcoming visits to Whitehorse.

Pam and Bernie are great hosts. The guest house is conveniently located and a great alternative to the boring hotels nearby. You're right in the town core, but back a couple blocks from the main drag so it's quiet. It's worth it to stay upstairs in the old part of the house. Feels like 100 years ago. Really cool. The... Fortunately we only had the place booked for one night. The entire house needed a good cleaning - thick layers of dust all over. The two bedrooms were upstairs and the bathrooms were downstairs down a steep set of stairs. They also needed a good cleaning. Our room was very dark and we couldn't open the window because the screen... More

As always a great place to stay, this time in the Cyr. Plenty of breakfast available. Bernie makes a great host and always interesting to chat with. Missed Pam this trip as she was rocking and rolling.

Pam & Bernie run a very pleasantly relaxed place in a central location, with a well planted garden with a nice area to sit out in. There are two smallish bedrooms on the first floor, with their own bathrooms on the ground floor and use of a kitchen and sitting room; and the Cyr Suite in the basement, which is... More

This was a nice place to stay, but it shouldn't be called a B&B. A B&B has breakfast which is typically made for you, while they do provide cereal, milk and toast, it is more of a hostel than B&B. You are on your own at breakfast and there is no fruit or anything. The room was fine, but there... More

The B&B was centrally located and had parking which was great. The owners seemed very nice. We stayed in the Cyr suite, in the basement, which we found to be damp. I believe the owners of the B&B smoke as I found that the towels had the faint odour of cigarette smoke on them which was not pleasant. For my... More

Enjoyed my night there. It is an old house of course but it has everything you need plus a full shared kitchen (you only have one other guest to share with). There is a very nice garden with a table to sit at out side and enjoy the beautiful summer weather.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Historical Guest House is located in downtown Whitehorse close to all of the amenities the town has to offer. The 2 story log house was built in 1907 by Mike and Tony Cyr for the "real" Sam McGee. All of it's historical charm is intact. Historical Guest House is for the independent and reasonably self-sufficient traveller who likes all the amenities and comforts of home when travelling. We welcome you as a guest and a friend. We want you to feel comfortable and at home. Food is provided for a self-serve continental breakfast - a variety of hot and cold cereals, whole wheat bread for toast, a variety of jams and peanut butter, tea and coffee. Let us know if you have special dietary needs. It is called self-serve because guests are free to eat breakfast on their own schedule. Since the kitchen is communal it is also available for cooking at any time of the day. We want you to feel comfortable going into the fridge and the cupboards to find what you need. There is room in the house and in the garden under the gazebo for socializing, as well as privacy. We live in the green log house right next door. ... more   less
