Preferring not to stay in the confines of a small hotel room, I found Jon and Muriel's Haye Pastures Farm on Air bnb. 10 minutes from Redditch and 20 minutes from Stratford, this idyllic rural setting was perfect for me. Away from the madding crowd, you can park your car at the back door, come and go as you please at any time, cook a meal in a very well stocked and planned kitchen and wash your clothes in the well equipped laundry in an adjacent farm building whenever you need to. There are a handful of apartments on the grounds but the whole ambiance is one of quiet and relaxation. I was on a golfing holiday so it was a perfect place to come home to each evening. Jon and Muriel are also wonderful hosts but not intrusive.
Muriel and Jon are very friendly hosts. We were visiting the Palace Theatre in Redditch 10 mins away, so very convenient for all future performances. Lovely countryside location, with a good pub a couple of minutes walk away. The views were fantastic. The two bedroom loft was very comfortable, good bedrooms and showers. The kitchen had lots of equipment. But we found the lounge area not comfy to sit in due to ‘hard cold plastic’ type two seater sitees and a very small tv. Also, there was a very odd smell. We kept all the windows open all weekend, very cold, but it still smelt. Sorry but Trip Advisor is about saying honestly how you find things. As my son has just moved to this area we would love to stay here again, so long as the smell is sorted out. It was so nice that Muriel and John left the Chapel open and we were able to spend a few very peaceful moments in there.…
We have been visiting Haye Pastures for 6 years now and love the location which is ideal for visiting the Cotswolds. On the grounds is a small chapel which is so tranquil and peaceful, once you’re inside you forget where you are. In 2017 we asked if we could have a blessing in the small chapel on the grounds, the chapel is small but great for a small intimate service. The service was organised by Jon and Muriel who also organised a vicar, they are perfect hosts who are always happy to ensure that your stay is perfect. We are happy to call friends now and look forward to catching up with them. If you are looking to do something different, personal to yourselves and want an intimate service to celebrate your marriage, then I definitely recommend. There is accommodation for friends and family if required and after the service we had a meal close by at the Boot Inn, not far from Haye Pastures. We chose here as we have eaten there and have always enjoyed our food, the menu is always good and they were happy to help make our day a success. Flowers were organised locally in Studley which is 5 minutes away.…
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Haye Pastures Cottages this past week. After some last minute changes to our booking, Jon and Muriel accommodated us perfectly and made sure we had everything we needed. Cosy accommodation with breathtakingly beautiful views (especially as the sun sets) and the coolest owners! ;) Thanks for everything, Jon and Muriel! x
What a wonderful place to stay. If you have any reason to stay in the Redditch / Worcestershire-Warwickshire border area, this place should be top of your list. Close enough to Redditch for all the facilities in town, lots of country pubs and villages around, but most importantly a fabulous place to stay. If there are better hosts that Jon and Muriel, I haven't stayed with them. They wold do anything to make your stay a success. Jon offered to drive us to Birmingham airport at 4:30 am in -10 degree conditions. That is above and beyond hosting! and Tripod (the three legged cat) is delightful.
