Reethi Beach Resort is often celebrated for its serene location, offering stunning views and an abundance of marine life that captivates snorkelers. While the resort receives applause for its cleanliness and the relaxed vibe set against a backdrop of natural beauty, some guests feel the rooms could benefit from a refresh. The resort's amenities, particularly snorkeling, are a highlight, yet additional costs for services have left some travelers considering the value proposition. The staff garners accolades for their friendliness and dedication, despite occasional lapses in service efficiency.

Pros: The facility is a real gem, well integrated into the nature, is well maintained and in a good condition. The widest beach area is on the west side, where most of the bungalows are, and is always kept clean. I was also satisfied with my deluxe bongalow, which was also in a good condition and was kept very clean. The design of the furniture in the room was a bit old fashioned, however it is understandable that a couple of months prior the management leaves, no further investments were planned, but this was not an issue for me.
I enjoyed very much the open air bathroom, which was also in a very good condition.

The food was tasty, I only misssed (since we were in the Maldives) a larger variety of freshly cooked fish.

I have also a very positive opinion about the entire staff, from front office staff to the roomboy everybody was very polite, helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Nathalie, I hope, she is well, again.

The only negative aspect I can mentione, was concerning the dive base. They are well overpriced, they cancel dives and change dive sites in the last second without informing the clients in advance.
Concerning one dive, I had some complaints and also a security concern. When I contacted the base leader, his first reaction was, that if I have several problems, I should not dive with them (quite arrogant and not very helpful). After telling him in detail what happened, he assured me that I will not dive with the same staff member again, however after that the entire staff was quite unfriendly with me.
Finally, what never happened to me before, after signing the checkout paper of the dive base, one staff member reminded me clearly that I should give a tip to them, which I felt quite cheeky.

But this could not change my overall positive opinion about the hotel facility itself and it's staff. Thank you for these wonderful days.

The most beautiful place I have ever been! A really comfortable beach villa (don’t waste your money on a water villa) with an amazing bathroom!!
The house reef surpassed expectations- I was expecting a dead zone but in reality the reef was teeming with life.
The food was amazing when you consider that everything needs to be imported and I enjoyed every meal!! There was lots of choice in the main buffet and a couple of other a la carte choices if you need a change.
The attitude of the resort to sustainability was a joy and the respect of the staff for their environment was commendable - no plastic washing up on the beach gave me real hope for the future.
There was entertainment in the evening for those who want it and it always ended early enough not to create a disturbance.
Overall a fantastic holiday!

We have just returned from our 8th visit to this amazing Island. We have travelled extensively but Reethi Beach just draws you back. The island is rustic, but extremely beautiful. From the time you step onto the jetty you feel at home. As stated the Island is amazing, but what makes this island stand out from others is the staff, they are truly wonderful. We had a 3 year break from Reethi Beach, visiting it's sister island Reethi Faru and other islands in the Maldives, but Reethi Beach is in our hearts. The staff welcomed us with such generosity of heart, we consider them great friends. Though being away from the Island, they remember everything about you, all your little foibles. A great many of the staff we are in constant contact with us, but I digress. ALL the staff from Peter G. Manger and Denise Manager make you feel so special and cannot do enough to make your stay so memorable.
The food in the main restaurant ( breakfast only ), Grill and Moodhu Bar was excellent and the staff were always fantastic
Room kept beautifully clean
Beach tended every day by group of very friendly young men
Ladies clearing the leaves, windy conditions made their task difficult at times
From Management to these lovely ladies, they all make Reethi Beach very special
We met a great many repeating guests that we have had the pleasure to meet over the years, one special couple have returned to the Island 19 times others 11 times 10 times returning year after year which proves that there is something very, very special about this island. We hope and pray that Reethi Beach is with us for many years to come. There are so many wonderful staff, but we would like to pay very special thanks to Hoda, Hanifa, Raoul, Aminul, Salim, Sanjay, Thomas, Yanika, Jodash, Martin and Mathew......there were so many others. Thank you to Peter who was always available for guests to speak to him....and Ali who was the chief cuddler on arrival and departure.
We wish all those on Reethi our love and best wishes and hope our beloved island will be with us for many years to come

On my 5th visit to the Maldives my first impression was poor when Reethi Beach delayed sending me the time of my flight checkin to Dharavandhoo until 2 hours beforehand. They had received the flight time 12 hours earlier and had not bothered to communicate it. This is very sloppy, anxiety provoking behaviour.

About 12 of us arrived together by speed boat and we were not welcomed or briefed but simply told to fill in forms and follow a person who dully guided us to our rooms. There was very little useful information given to guests and there was only a small dark barely readable notice board in the gloomy Reception where nothing happens. I was alone and elderly and I felt that no-one had really registered that I was there. I was put in a room at the nicely breezy end of the island and in the absence of any visible lifeguards anywhere was reluctant to go in the water alone. It felt like the place was run by clueless teenagers and I never met anyone with any authority. They require you to wear a face mask while collecting food from the buffet, for reasons unknown as it would be irrelevant to Covid transmission. They supply you with face masks which break on first use and the island is littered with them. I was unaware that a wifi dongle was available which would have made monitoring the 15 minute warnings for Hanifaru trips easier.

The restaurants were overpriced and served tiny portions of food. I came principally to visit Hanifaru Bay mantas and was astonished to be charged $150 for a 15 minute boat ride to spend 45 minutes snorkelling. Only $30 of this is charged to support the Baa Atoll Biosphere. Prices of food and diving in Addu were much cheaper the week before this visit so there is no excuse. I received good service at the main bar and Moodhu restaurant and somewhat surly service at the breakfast restaurant where the food choice was wide.

The rooms were neglected with last century style bathroom fittings which fell apart. My towel rail and my shower tubing fell apart and it was hard to move the valve from shower to tap position. Just a bit of simple maintenance would have made an impression that they cared and the Maintenance guys turned up immediately, so had plenty of time to do proper maintenance. My bed was sagging and the wardrobe doors stuck and didn’t slide normally indicating more unnecessary neglect. There was a phone inside the wardrobe with a red flashing light which at times kept me awake as it was on continuously and visible through the glass wardrobe door. No-one ever explained the purpose of the phone. There were a few mosquitoes near the main bar and none at the west end of the island where the breezes kept them at bay.

The things I really liked was the tropical vegetation and the noisy small group of birds there.

Reethi Beach is fantastic! For the price you pay, you get the height of professionalism and a luxury resort in the Maldives, its a no brainer.

We arrived on the 4th October and stayed 7 nights in a water bungalow. The staff are incredible. Working tirelessly day and night to ensure your stay is perfect. Special mention to Ajay, Ben and Yumy. Who gave their all. A big thank you to them who made our stay so special and memorable.

The island itself is beautiful. Wherever you are on the island, the sea is not too far. We had a very relaxed stay and would not hesitate to go back,

The sea is beautiful, crystal clear waters, with a stunning coral reef, and a fantastic display of fish! Everyday at 5pm manta rays, sharks and larger fish are fed by Reethi staff, its a brilliant opportunity to see so much sealife.

The water bungalows were a great size, the bed was definitely a king or even queen size. The bathroom has a large shower, and an ever bigger bath- it was huge! You could easily fit two people in it. The bathroom also had shampoos, conditioners, hand soap and shower gel in. I personally didn't like the smell of the hand soaps all over the island- but that's my only quirk, every else was absolutely perfect!

The was plenty to do on the island, such as jet skis, excursions, sit at the beach, sit at the pool, there was a games room and a spa, as well as a shop with lovely staff in. However Reethi beach wouldn't be my first place to choose for children.

Theres Wifi on the island, however not in all places. The main reception, main restaurant, bar, Spa and A La Carte restaurants all had wifi. If you want wifi everywhere, you can buy a router from the main reception for an extra charge.

All in all, this resort was brilliant, very accommodating and nothing was ever too much trouble.

Thank you Reethi Beach for a very memorable 21st birthday. I will return back soon.

I went to Reethi Beach this October for 2 weeks. It turned out to be awful 😖 and wanted to come home.i arrived in darkness. I emailed the island 4 weeks before I was due to arrive to ask them if I could have a room near to the facilities as I've recently had 2 knee replacements and found walking long distances difficult. I was shown a room about 25 minutes walk for me and not near facilities as requested. After travelling a long way I was very cold and tired and asked for a blanket to which the reply was "we don't have blankets" so I had to use beach towels over me to keep me warm.
The next day I went to ask if I could change rooms as it was too far for me to walk especially at night through dense vegetation and dimly lit paths. This was also a security risk as I would be walking back to my room alone after dinner. My room was changed to a garden bungalow, the same room as they uses for quarantineing staff. It must have been the filthiest room on the island and was told definitely no other room available. No refund was offered as I'd payed for a beach villa and was put in the islands cheapest room.
Next morning I went for breakfast and asked for poached eggs only to be told" no madam we do not do poached eggs" even though it says special diets catered for"
That evening I went to the bar to get a drink and asked for a vodka and tomato juice and was told no madam this is a bloody Mary and is chargeable. This same conversation went on for some time and couldn't get through to the staff what I wanted. I could have gin n tonic but not vodka and tomato juice eventhough I was on all inclusive. I gave up and wanted to go home.
It was the 11 time I had been to the Maldives and NEVER had such a terrible experience. If you go to Reethi Beach for the first time then you think it's paradise but having been so many times before it certainly by far the worse and dirtiest island I've ever been to so don't waste your money just go elsewhere.
I did email the resort manager Denise Shmitt to tell her of my findings and I've never heard so much denial in all my life she was and is totally oblivious to what her guests feel. No refund I was told for going in the worse room in the Maldives ever.
I was a hospitality management consultant for 50 years and would never have treated a dog this way.

Dear Sheila H., Thank you very much for your feedback. Further to your my e-mail correspondence with you, please let me express once more that I am sorry to read that your recent trip did not meet your expectations. I believe some of the points raised could have been avoided if proper information would have been shared with you by your travel agent before booking Reethi Beach. All Reethi Villas – the category you had booked – are located on the westside of the island in the area from 155 to 184 or on the eastside, this being 185-194. Having been allocated villa 160 is the closest the team could have gotten you. The better option would have been to book a Deluxe Villa as they are located between 105 and 154 with 115-125 being the closest to the other facilities. You had requested for a room change closer to the facilities and the alternative was given by the team. You had looked at the room prior to confirming the wish to confirm to move into the offered room. This room change was purely done based on your request and we are therefore not in a position to compensate you. You were also offered to move to a Deluxe Villa, which you declined. The second concern I feel could have been avoided is the selection of beverages included in the All Inclusive package. The inclusions are shared with all partners and the same should have been advised by your travel agent. I am sorry to hear that the team wasn’t able to assist you with the request for a blanket. As of now, they are not part of the regular set up, however, we are looking into improvements and have already acquired a number of duvets which we are providing on request.   I have checked with Ali as to why he wasn’t available the day prior to departure and this said day, he had to attend an emergency case which involved another guest. I am not sure if you had contacted any other team member to assist you with your queries, the team is usually very supportive when it comes to assistance required.   Once again, I apologize that your recent visit hasn’t been as memorable as it should have been. I am sharing your detailed feedback with the team members to work on improvements of our services and will personally look into the steps taken to avoid future disappointments of similar nature.   As I had mentioned in my mail, I haven’t been in denial of any findings and I am happy to offer a gesture of good will during a future stay, should you decide to return to Reethi Beach again. Sincerely, Denise Schmidt Resort Manager Reethi Beach Resort

The resort is a little old but I prefer to see it as rustic. The full board option meant we only ate at the main restaurant but the food served had a different theme for dinner everyday so that worked out really well. However if you prefer variety and being able to go to other restaurants I think half board might be a better option especially if you have time to eat a little later in the morning. We enjoyed drinks at the bars by the water so it would have been probably nice to enjoy a meal there once in awhile. We were at the sunrise villas which was really convenient as it was close to the dive centre and main restaurant but to see the sea we had to walk out as the mangrove trees blocked the view.

Service was good and our room was always cleaned and each day two 1L water was provided and you can also get water in the morning during the buffet.

We were greeted at check in by Lara who was efficient and cheerful. We also enjoyed drinks served by Sandeep at the main bar.

Our week stay at Reethi was awesome. However if you want to snorkel or dive closer to Hanifaru Bay then Reethi is a little further. There are resorts closer than Reethi.

Such wonderful staff deserves good management. We were extremely impressed with the chefs (informed from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in Maldives) and the staff at the restaurants. They were extremely friendly, helpful and certainly went the extra mile. We couldn’t have asked for more thoughtful staff (everyone dealing with the food or drinks).

Management however, cost us half a day in our water villa, times two, so a full day of daylight, for which we paid an hourly rate that I shall rather not mention. We were not collected at the airport as indicated, we were not informed that a sea plane was booked for us, where to go, what to do etc. We specifically confirmed this with them before our arrival. We made our way to the sea plane terminal and were informed we had to wait 4 hours for the plane. After our arrival at Reethi, we had to wait until all the other guests were tended to, despite them not having to wait at the sea plane airport.

We were not informed when the plane would arrive on check out day and we were told it would be made known the morning of check out. No information was given and then we were informed it would be very early, again taking half a day from our villa. This time of departure varied so many times, that the phone calls meant we missed breakfast. We were then informed to make up for all the upheaval and loss of 8h in our villa (of day time hours) – they would send us breakfast to our rooms. We were then informed, after about an hour, that this is also not possible. We therefore missed out on breakfast, lunch and the last day of swimming in the sea, as we had to be on the phone. If a holiday us only a few days, this makes a difference.

Management is changing in April, we were informed. They might be occupied with this change and we noticed a transfer of plants etc to other islands, which might explain the lack of attention to guests present.

We hope new management keeps the rustic style – focus on nature, and that the villas and surrounding areas are not updated to bling and minimalistic. We did however have torn towels and moulded sun chair pillows, which might need an update. We hope the place keeps its charm.

All in all a wonderfully beautiful place, loved the near constant wind and waves, and wonderful staff. We hope the resort keeps the staff related to food and restaurants. They are gems.

We hoped the snorkel and diving staff might have been more local, as the European women appeared less knowledgeable about the area and fish, and certainly were not very friendly. The local that we met appeared very knowledgeable and also friendly.

We will return if the arrival and departure plans are clarified ahead of time.

Dear PRN2go, Thank you very much for your review, we are happy to hear that you have enjoyed your stay with us and will certainly pass on the positive comments about the colleagues you have mentioned. With regards to your feedback about the arrangement of your seaplane transfers, I am sorry that there was no earlier seaplane on your arrival and no later seaplane on your departure on those days. As the operation is handled by Trans Maldivian Airways solely, we have no possibility of interfering with their schedules. Seaplanes can only fly during daylight hours which all guests are informed of at the time of booking and depending on the daily flight rotation, TMA takes its best efforts of scheduling the flights according to the international flights’ schedule. We are sorry that the last day of your stay with us did not leave you with the memories it should have. We apologize for this inconvenience and nevertheless hope to have the opportunity again at one point in the future, to welcome you again on our island. Honestly, many of the hotels in Maldives look exactly the same… bungalows on the beach, some villas on the water, a diving center, water sport center, a couple of restaurants, a pool, and some extra activities like tennis.
Reethi Beach has very nice rooms on the beach. They are quite large, with an outdoor shower (and bath…) have a small private patio as well as two private long chairs on the beach.
Domain restaurant, offers buffet morning, lunch and dinner. Depending on the type of package taken, one can enjoy breakfast only, half board or full board. There are three other à la carte restaurants on the island, but honestly, they are very expensive. And if your food is already included in your package, you only get 15% discount, which is very meager.
Overall, the buffets were excellent. Very large selection, fresh products, including salads from the garden, and several dishes cooked in front of you.
The bars offer nice cocktails, which is often not the case in Maldives.
For the divers, there is a diving center, which is a little bit basic (especially the storage area), but with local staff doing their best to make you stay unforgettable. They will bring all your equipment on the boat, and you simply have to mount your material before the dives. They will also bring everything back to the diving center. For those who intends to dive heavily, it is sometimes difficult to organize the days in advance as many boats are announced on the last minute. Furthermore, it is not possible to do shore dives by yourself, you always need to be accompanied by a guide.
The water sports center has a couple of ceiling boards, but everything is extremely expensive. They are also two tennis courts which are free to use.
The pool area is a little disappointing, as it is relatively small.
There are so many people working in the resort that the organization is not always very smooth. This could be improved.

We stayed for 5 nights at Reethi Beach Resort and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. We opted for all inclusive option and must say that the food options at the included buffet were excellent as they changed daily for each meal and included regional dishes, which we wanted. We used the paddle boards as use of water equipment is included in the all inclusive; the experience of paddle boarding around the island is recommended!
Regarding our room choice, we decided to stay in a water villa the first 2 nights and a sunset deluxe villa the remaining 3. The water villa was a nice option for those who seek privacy as it was more secluded, and what made it really special was the deck and the possibility to go into the water to snorkel/swim. We saw plenty of reef shark during sunrise and sunset, and the sunset view was really breathtaking. The sunset deluxe villa was also great in other ways as it was close to the main restaurant and had the sunset view. The entrance to the beach with the trees providing a barrier was nice for the privacy from other beachgoers passing by. To snorkel in the house reef (which is full of life and the main reason we chose this resort), one can simply walk from this villa into the sea in a straight line... and within minutes see tons of marine wildlife. It was my husband's birthday and they went out of their way to decorate the room while we were out as well as give him a bottle of wine and a special made cake at the main restaurant. The staff at the main restaurant is very friendly and added to the special feeling of the place. Not that this is in control of the resort, but the weather was perfect the entire 5 days, despite being monsoon season. We plan to return in a few years.
