Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have stayed here twice now, both times with extended family. The property has 3 bedrooms that are B&B and a small annex with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and living room that can be rented as a unit for a longer stay. We have done both, and I can't find any complaints. Yes, it's very low key English farmhouse in its style, but then again, that's exactly where you are.

You need a car to get there, tucked away as it is on the lanes, but at the same time with easy access to both the A303 and Exeter airport.

The English breakfast is plentiful, made in the kitchen on the Aga with produce from the farm and neighbouring area. We certainly didn't need more than a snack for lunch.

So if you're in a car, looking for a quiet place to stay then this is it. Not luxury, but clean, friendly and very adaptable hosts.

Hidden away and yet close to Exeter this is a real farmhouse.
Susie was delightful and we were well looked after. There are horses dogs and a very pleasant cat around and the atmosphere is relaxed and unstuffy.
The bedroom was plain and simple...no kitsch and frou frou....which was good!!
The beds are very comfortable and the pillows and bedding guarantee a good sleep in this peaceful place.
The breakfast was superb. Eggs from the farm, excellent local bacon and sausages, good coffee and so on.
If you like chintz and Travelodge, hate animals and like motorway service areas and clubbing, you may find Allercombe a challenge. But if you want informal farmhouse comfort, quiet and a good breakfast, then it ia just the job!!

We stayed here for a party at nearby Ottery St Mary. The B&B was full but Suzie put us up in the cottage which was clean and cosy. The breakfast was lovely with home grown fruit compote, Greek yoghurt, cereals & tasty full English. We would come back here again!

We stayed here one stormy night at the end of November. Susie made us feel extremely welcome and we had a very comfortable night. The breakfast was really excellent with home made bread as well as locally produced procucts. I can recommend the yogurt and home grown plums as a starter.Thank you Susie, we'll be back!

Fabulous tucked away B&B but easy access to Exeter and surrounding villages. Friendly service, comfortable room with ensuite facilities, coffee making facilities. Excellent, homemade, full English breakfast. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, relaxing stay.

Just a pot luck choice but Susie made us very welcome from the moment we arrived. Spacious, spotless and very comfortable luxury room with all the nice trimmings. A proper working farm and although some infrequent flights from Exeter airport do fly overhead there didn't seemed to be any at night and we have a very peacful and tranquil time there. The breakfast was truly outstanding and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. We really enjoyed our stay on the farm and will go back again.

We stayed at Lower Allercombe Farm while we were in the area for my friends wedding. As the previous review notes, you do need a car really, and our sat nav came in very handy to find it, but if you’re after a genuine farm house experience then this is it. We stayed in room 1 which is a spacious room with a generous sized bathroom and one of the best showers I’ve ever had – fantastic water pressure and we never ran out. The breakfasts are wonderful with local produce and home made bread, very filling. The whole place is very clean and the host is wonderful and friendly. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

My husband & I, along with our black Labrador, stayed at Lower Allercombe Farm on route to a family holiday in Cornwall.
Susie made us very welcome and the breakfast was delicious.
Would certainly recommend.

I stayed here for one night at the weekend with my husband. We had a beautiful room with a huge bathroom and enjoyed the best full English breakfast I can remember. Certainly recommend this lovely farmhouse and welcoming host.

We stayed for one night and really had a lovely time. Susie was so welcoming and it was a treat to sit in the sunny garden on arrival with a glass of wine and chat with her about our shared interest (horses!)
Our room was very comfortable and I slept very well, after a super meal at the Jack In The Green just down the road.
Breakfast was delicious, quality ingredients, local sausages and bacon, and yummy tomatoes from Susie's garden and the freshest eggs from the neighbours hens.
We wish we could have stayed longer and will certainly return the next time we visit the area. Thank you Susie for a lovely stay.
