I booked the hotel online and was berated by Dorothy for failing to phone ahead with my arrival time even though it was included in my online booking. If the hotel can not accept late, online bookings, then they should remove their establishment from the booking sites. If you want to be told off, come to this hotel!

We stayed as a couple overnight on May 18th. The welcome by Dorothy was warm and welcoming and we were taken to our room (No.4) and it was spotless clean and very comfortable. We went for a walk and then had drink in lounge choosing our dinner from the menu. Each dish is freshly cooked so there is a little...

Very beautiful room, excellent evening meal and breakfast. Dorothy and her staff are excellent, some larger establishments should take note. We would have no hesitation at staying at this establishment again

Dorothy is definitely on our 'A' list. My wife and I both have certain needs and we could not ask for a more accommodating hostel. Dorothy also proved to be most informative and reliable about local amenities and conditions. Her staff were equally reliable, discrete and helpful.

My wife and I spent two nights here on 8 & 9 April. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant the first night, but choose to eat somewhere else the next night which was not as good. Breakfast each morning was very good too. Our room, no 6, was at the top of the building and had wonderful views...

Dorothy runs a very welcoming, and recently refurbished, hotel/bnb which offers spacious rooms (we had #2 on the 1st floor) with a good size breakfast. It was a clean, warm, double aspect room and there's a decent restaurant (Reed's) as part of the building. We'd travelled down by train to Axminster, then caught the local bus which stops within 50...

Dorothy gave us a very warm welcome, our room (No1 - downstairs twin) was extremely comfortable, the ensuite was very clean with a good walk in shower with lots of hot water.
