We went to the Wheelwright for Sunday lunch while visiting with relatives in the area. As one of our party was in a wheelchair we had the table by the door which in summer is great but would be very draughty in the winter. However the resturant staff were excellent and cheery and the food was great. Excellent size potions... More

We visited here on a quiet Saturday lunchtime and found it to be very welcoming. The lady on the bar was more than helpful and after coffees we ordered lunch. Wow! Beautiful ham egg and chips to die for - homemade turkey ham and leek pie and field mushrooms with red onion chutney and Brie were Devine! We thoroughly enjoyed... More

I went to the Wheelwright with my parents this late August Bank Holiday Friday evening, and we were delighted with the food. We had carrot and coriander soup, whitebait, ploughman's, chicken burger, and cheese platter. The menu is varied and unpretentious, and the produce is locally sourced. We all thought it was very high quality indeed - and at a... More

Came with family for supper, had a mix of dishes including pie which was smaller than expected, lasagne, prawn salad and kids sausage and mash which came with caramelised onion which wasn't really suitable for a kids dish - on the whole it was fairly decent but service was lovely.

As visitors to the village we were made most welcome. Our booking was taken, the table was ready and the service was exemplary. The meals we chose were of restaurant standard, while the general ambience made it a most worthwhile experience.

Four of us visited over the Easter weekend for an evening meal. The Inn itself is very nice but we found the food of poor quality. My pie was small and contained three small pieces of meat. The mash potato was hard and the mountain of peas tasteless.Others in our group had various issues with their meals.Staff had clearly been under pressure and... Stepped in history, this pub has a quintessential Old English feel. The food and live music are in keeping with this unpretentious quality, making it a local treasure and attracting an eclectic mix of customers and staff. I loved it so much I asked for a job, and I'm pleased to say that I now work here!

We went as a family for Sunday lunch with an age range of 10-79. All of us thought the menu was superb, nothing too pretentious. Portions were large and the food was very tasty. Staff friendly and efficient. Finally the bill was a pleasant surprise. Keep up the great work.
