We stayed here on route to Cornwall to celebrate our wedding anniversary, as we had the year prior and could not fault a thing. The bedroom was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and all the facilities you could need. The service at dinner was fantastic, helpful staff and delicious food. The Manager was very kind and gave us a complimentary bottle of fizz when we told him it was our wedding anniversary, which was a really nice touch. Breakfast was delicious too! Really looking forward to staying again in the future!

We've always been fans of The Globe! If you are looking for a welcoming pub with a proper Devon feel, look no further! Everybody at The Globe is always so friendly and ready to help with anything that you need. You can always count on them to have a bit of a laugh with you and make you feel like an old friend dropping in! We haven't been able to fault the food; it is always delicious, piping hot and usually comes in very, very generous portion sizes! During the pandemic in particular The Globe has surpassed expectations. They have managed to keep the same, lively atmosphere, the service is impeccable and everything has been made to make you feel safe and secure. If you are looking for a pub to make you feel a touch of normality and for a good time, this is the place you need to go!

Booked ahead as a half way meeting point to collect son from barnstaple. Looked busy in the car park and felt a little worried about some clients not wearing masks but shouldn’t have been concerned. Excellent organisation in the pub, staff friendly and all clued and masked up. Drinks outside while we waited, (Our fault, we were late) quickly relocated To a snug table indoors, and a very tasty, excellent value carvery. Succulent meat, fresh vegetables, including potato dauphinoise a nice bonus to usual carvery pub fayre - Just an all round excellent experience. Will definitely come back. Highly recommended

So we came for lunch on the way to our week away. The service got off to a bad start when the guy who was in the middle of our order walked away and someone else came over after a few minutes - really rude and we did not understand why. The food arrived and was average. So all in all, service not great, food average, atmosphere not welcoming. Drive past.

We recently visited Minnows Touring Park and whilst there we visited the Globe. We did not pre-book as we were just wandering along the canal, we were greeted warmly and seated inside near a lovely fire. Although not really cold, just damp out the fire was welcomed. We initially ordered two drinks which came with a large bone treat for our dog. Afgter contemplating the menu we decided to have a snack, the jacket potato was fantstic, with enough toppings without over doing it. My partner has a tuna baguette, the bread was fresh and tasty. Because the food and hospitality was so good, we decided to order the following night for delivery to the campsite, fish and chips. scampi and chips - again the food was good value for money. Fish was so fresh with tempura type batter, it was gorgeous. They also upsold two lemon tarts which were very sharp just how we like it. After two great meals, we then decided to have Sunday carvery in a box!!!!! Wow it came in a 12 inch pizza box and was so large I think we could have ate one between the two of us. We had beef, which included two types of potato's (roast/dauphinoise) cabbage, carrots, green beans, cauliflower cheese, brocoli, stuffing ball and yorkshire pudding, plus home made gravy. Well worth the money and we will visit again.
