A party of us are 14 people, dined here on a Sunday lunchtime. We pre-booked, selecting dishes, either two courses (£23) or three courses £28). The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. There was us another party of about 20 and a few tables occupied. Couldn’t fault the friendliness of the staff, but the service was rather slow and other than delivering the food no one came for a drinks order. We had to get our own drinks from the bar. The roast dinners were huge but two of us had ordered “fish of the day”. The menu stated it came with sautéed potatoes and minted peas. It came with regular peas and hard new potatoes with the skin on, cut in half. I believe they had been roasted but not for long enough. Given how plentiful the roast dinners were, the fish dish was disappointing. It needed to have more vegetables, even some broccoli would certainly have improved it. The desserts were good but came out in dribs and drabs. All of the food was good apart from the fish dish. The prawn cocktails could have possibly had a few more prawns on them. The staff were very friendly, just lacking in any attention. Drinks orders, table getting cleared. I have rated as very good based on the majority of the food we had.

The rooms were lovely. Clean and warm. Shame the service was slow. No one in the restaurant area during the afternoon we waited a 10 minutes before finally a waitress was passing through. Again at breakfast it was over 30min wait to be served.

From all of the family, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Mandy, Abbie and all of the staff that looked after us last night. You made my Nan and Gramps platinum 70th wedding anniversary so special for them. Allowing us to use the outdoor bar area to invite the Raunds Temperance band in to surprise my Gramp and setting us a lovely big table in the conservatory. We really appreciate your help making it a night for them to remember. Thanks again. X

We decided to have our wedding in the dining room at The Stanwick Hotel in August 2023 and it was everything and more that we imagined. We are an older couple wanting a more intimate wedding with under 20 people for the wedding ceremony and breakfast followed by a few extra guests in the evening for drinks and nibbles. Marie was very helpful and accommodating, allowing us to plan our day our way but taking care of the finer details along the way. The whole house is beautiful and did not require too much decoration. We decided on some carefully placed flowers. We stayed overnight in the balcony room overlooking the courtyard garden. It was really pretty room. Light and airy with a big comfy bed. On the day and throughout the evening staff were always to hand ensuring things ran smoothly which meant could relax and not worry about a thing ! The hotel provided 2 bride and groom thrones for the ceremony and wedding breakfast which was a lovely touch. The Afternoon Tea was nicely presented and tasty. We also had many complements about the evening buffet spread. The Stanwick hotel ensured we had a very special wedding day that we will both never forget. I would like to send a BIG thank you to all the staff who helped on the day as well as Marie who put us at ease before the ceremony. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a place to hold their wedding big or small. The hotel the grounds/gardens and rooms in the hotel are beautiful and the staff are especially accommodating.

The food was very good and the staff were excellent but the stay was unfortunately ruined by the people in the adjoining rooms being VERY inconsiderate, shouting and yelling and constantly moving something scraping it along the floor. The room was supposedly a "Deluxe" room but it was certainly not worth the premium price charged, there was a puddle on the floor of the ensuite from a leaking radiator which was a slip hazard, the main door lock did not work properly and the room was lit up by an overly bright indicator lamp on an emergency light. We eventually packed up and left at 1:30 in the morning having been unable to get any sleep. The owners need to improve the sound proofing between the rooms.

I am so sorry that you had a bad experience while staying with us. It’s a shame your room was in the middle of the party people but we could have moved you if you had contacted reception rather than checking our in the middle of the night. However all our rooms meet the sound proofing regulations but the noise you were experiencing came from the room above and that is the hardest to control. I know we have contacted you with regard to reparation and hope you will come again and have a peaceful stay Kindest regards Jo

Just had our wedding here over the weekend and I can honestly say we had the best experience ever. We stayed the night before and with us 16 other guests where we had dinner in the restaurant. Food was amazing and service was great too. They had a lot to deal with and they managed it so well. Everyone left feeling full and satisfied. Thanks to Gemma the waitress who served us! We set up the evening before and the staff were so kind even when we were running around like headless chickens. They were calm and accommodating. The wedding day itself run so smoothly and Marie was so attentive double checking everything with our wedding schedule we had planned on our previous meetings. Sophie who coordinated in the afternoon was great too. There were a few tiny niggles and last minute changes that we needed but it was all amended discreetly. Again the food was amazing. The canapés, wedding breakfast and evening food. Everyone we spoke to enjoyed their dishes and the evening food was demolished! We were directed when needed to where we had to be and the room changes were swift. The grounds were incredibly well kept and beautiful and everyone who stayed said their rooms were lovely. Some were admittedly bigger than others but that cannot be helped. We were so lucky to have an outdoor ceremony and have the outdoor bar open. All the bar staff were so friendly (Mariam especially) and Philip is so lovely with his great outfit choices too! We would also like to the DJ and florist included in the package as they listened to everything we wanted and were the icing on the cake. DJ John and Rockabilly Rose. The only slight comment we would suggest is that emails are replied to quicker as we had to chase at times and it gave us a bit of anxiety. However we know that wedding season can be hectic and had no reflection on the day itself. If you are thinking of getting married here or even having an overnight stay or a meal please don’t hesitate to come to this quirky beautiful venue!

Visited Stanwick Hotel for a wedding, beautiful venue with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Everyone from the bar and waiter staff through to Marie the manager on the day were all friendly and happy to help at any moment. Amazing food and canapés and very well stocked and affordable bar. The rooms were very comfy and very reasonably priced. Will definitely visit and stay again.

We needed a nice restaurant to have a special birthday celebration dinner. I contacted the Stanwick Hotel and asked about arranging a set menu for our guests. Mandy was so helpful in arranging a specific menu to accommodate all my fussy relative’s requirements and kept it within our budget. The food was absolutely delicious. I couldn’t fault a single dish and all guests commented on how much they enjoyed theirs. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice dinner and will be going back. My only very tiny negative would be that, as we were sat in the conservatory part of the restaurant and another group had a table, it can get very loud.
