Great venue and great value for money. Very friendly staff and welcoming. Great menus for lunch as well. Wonderful rooms with lots of history. Good walks with a really good guide found at the hotel. Our visit while brief was packed with activity. Limited parking but well worth a visit for a single night or longer. Just of the motorway...

Was looking for a place to stop for a beer and bite to eat on our way to Cornwall for a family holiday and wow what a place! Full of history and charming staff made it a very pleasant visit. The food was delicious and a great selection of ales. Definitely one to visit. 😊

The Oxenham Arms which oozes history is a Devonshire delight tucked away in the unassuming village of South Zeal. The bar, well stocked with real ale, is everyone’s dream of a village pub with friendly, helpful staff: if only it was at the end of my road. The rooms are well appointed, sizeable, comfortable and quiet. There was a good...

This is a great hotel that the owners have restored over the past 5 years, and they've done an amazing job. Can't be easy to work with an 800 year old building. It's quirky, with odd corners and stone pillars. They've got very fancy bespoke bedspreads (which are beautiful but the housekeepers will remove from the room to give you...

Sunday lunch here is fast becoming a regular occurence although it is a 45minute journey the Sunday roasts are just perfect and well worth the drive. Piping Hot, plenty of food, and good choices. Add to that the very welcoming staff and jovial banter the lunch turns into a a very pleasant way of spending a Sunday. The locals are...

We used to be regular visitors to this part of Devon and still like to stay in the area when we can. The Oxenham has changed hands a few times in recent years but there has been little obvious improvement to the quality of the place. We ate there in the bar recently anf found the food on offer rather...

Hello reviewer, we happened to read this in our bar which by the way was packed with friendly locals this evening and thought we would remark on its inaccuracy. One of our locals looked at your other reviews and noted that you had recently commented on another pub, 2 miles from here stating how if you didn't use that other...
