I write this review whilst still in resort. Came here for a week with my partner in early October and was instantly impressed by the easy check- in (we arrived quite late) process and friendly gentleman (Constantinos?) in reception. We were offered an upgrade from a studio to an apartment which was a welcome surprise. I think we knew from the moment we walked through the pool area to our apartment that our choice of hotel was the right one. The apartment was huge and spotlessly clean and literally a few seconds walk from the pool and café bar but was also far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. (Room 101). We were given a welcome drink at the bar after we had unpacked. The whole complex is spotless and you can see the maintenance man working pretty much all day keeping it this way. Whether trimming the bushes or keeping the pool clean he’s always doing something. The pool area and gardens are probably some of the nicest and well kept we’ve ever stayed at. Drinks and food are good and realistically priced. Towels are changed every couple of days but you can have the room serviced more often if you wish. Just put your sign out on the room door handle. WiFi is free and usually ok but was a little hit and miss in our room. By the pool the WiFi is good. Air conditioning is free (a nice surprise in Greece) and worked really well on those hot nights. We managed to get a sun bed or cabana every day and there was never a stampede to get a sun bed. We went quite late in the season and the resort was extremely peaceful. The included breakfast was fabulous and had huge choices. Better than most other hotels we’ve stayed at. Hot and cold food is available. You can even get omelettes, scrambled egg or fried eggs made fresh to order. The local Greek/Cretian breakfast choices are huge and you will find no shortage to choose from. There is plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate available at breakfast too and cold drinks. If you’re looking for a busy resort then Kato Daratso is probably not for you. In fact the choice of restaurants we found were quite limited. Chania town is good for a day trip and you can get the bus just down the road from the hotel for €1:10 per person if you pay in advance at the machine at the bus stop. Our favourite Greek hotel to date and if we could pick this place up and take it anywhere else we surely would. Thanks to all of the staff here who are extremely friendly and to Romana (whose English is excellent) for serving our food and drink most days. I’m surprised that is classed as a 3* and personally would rate it higher. Would we go back for a peaceful holiday? Most definitely.

I have spent 3 nights in Zeus Village and it was definitely not enough! :) The area is very nice and local, not very far from the nice beaches (it's better if you have a car though). Also it is very well located to get to the best attractions of Crete - close to the highway and the intl airport of Chania.
The hotel is very well maintained, with great pool, amazing and super nice staff and wonderful breakfasts! The rooms are equipped in the nice kitchenette, in case you get tired of moussaka and greek salad :P
Welcome bottle of local wine was a very nice (and tasty!) touch ;-)
Thank you so much!

Just arrived home after a 1 week stay at the hotel, we had no expectations but we were absolutely blown away!
Cannot speak highly enough of the place. The staff were always incredibly kind, lovely and helpful (especially Ramona!). Not just the waiting staff/receptionists, but also the cleaners and gardener would always say hello and made us feel at home.
The pool area is really beautiful and so relaxing. There are really comfy day beds to lounge on, as well as sun loungers. The breakfast buffet was amazing, pretty much everything is fresh and there are so many things to choose from sweet and savoury. The dishes are also swapped and changed throughout the week which was nice! We had lunch by the pool a few times and the portions were generous and the food was great.
The location was excellent, the area itself has nice beaches, but not much of a nightlife/restaurant scene which we knew. But the bus stop into Chania was a 1 minute walk down the hill and was a regular service until around 11:20 every night so we went there.
Our room was cleaned every day, it was lovely and spacious. The hotel also gave me a complimentary bottle of white wine for my birthday which was really sweet.
Please don’t hesitate to book this hotel, it was an incredible and memorable experience. Thank you all 😊

We cannot fault this hotel. It is an oasis of calm. Extremely professionally managed but very friendly too. All the staff make your stay enjoyable from the maid service, guy that cleans the pool, restaurant staff and reception. They will do anything to make your stay relaxed and enjoyable. Pool area and restaurant are impeccable, a few issues with people reserving sunbeds early but there are always free ones. Beds/pillows are of high quality and very comfortable. God black out blinds. Outside the hotel it is a bit touristy but hop on the regular bus to Chania town which is stunning or hire a car and head south.

Partner booked this holiday for us and I was a bit dubious just from the photos as I am 51 and all the people in the pics were clearly younger and models. But was no need to worry as the were guests of all ages. Very friendly welcome. Room was lovely. Pool area was stunning. Despite there being a notice in the rooms saying please don’t reserve sunbeds there was clearly some that was as when we came down for breakfast there were towels on beds already. That said, there was still plenty for everyone. Breakfast was fantastic from continental to cooked options including freshly made scrambled or fried eggs and omelettes. Ramona was a real star making sure you had everything you needed for breakfast and also drinks and snacks round the pool during the day. Thats not taking anything away from the other staff who were all great but Ramona really stood out. Our room (213) was beautiful tho the balcony was overlooking the road so if we went again we would ask for one on the pool side. Only one criticism is maybe a darker blind on front door of room to block light but apart from that we would definitely go back. Beautiful hotel. Every member of staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Have already recommended to friends. The owners and staff should be very very proud.

We're particularly grateful for your kind words about our breakfast and the outstanding service provided by Ramona. We stayed for ten days and the experience exceeded our expectations by far.
The rooms are simple (our room was not one of the refurbished rooms) but extremely clean and everything is well maintained and in good condition and the air conditioning worked very well which was appreciated in the high temperatures while we stayed. Pool area is relaxed, quiet and comfortable with good sunbeds, two cabana beds (with no extra charge) and three big platform sunbeds that stretch over the pool and yes...the cocktails are very good. The restaurant is not to be forgotten, breakfast was superb with a great selection of quality foods and eggs (fried, scrambled or omelettes) made to order, this kind of breakfast along with a friendly service with a smile was a great start to every day, the lunch menu has a good variety and all courses we tried were really good, we had dinner in the restaurant only once but it was great, the cuisine and presentation was far more ambitious than you see in most restaurants in the area and I suggest that anyone staying at this hotel should have at least one dinner there. And now to the most important point, ALL staff we had any interactions with were amazing! And I mean ALL from the maids to the hotel manager and everyone in between, great service with a friendly and genuine smile and eager to help with anything, I have to mention Ramona, Dimitri and Sergios since we interacted most with them and they were absolutely perfect with their fun and friendly service.
As a conclusion I want to say that it's uplifting to experience a family run hotel where everyone seems to be ambitious for the hotel and put their pride, heart and soul into making the guests experience as good as possible, if (when) we return to Crete Zeus village resort would be our first choice.

I have just returned from a week's holiday at the Zeus Village Hotel. It was my first time travelling alone and all of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean with plenty of loungers around the pool. Breakfast and lunch were delicious plus plenty of nearby restaurant for dinner. The hotel is approximately 10 minutes walk to some lovely beaches and a 15 minutes bus ride into Chania costing 1.10 euros or 10 euros by taxi. Chania is an interesting & historic city with gorgeous shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel as a base near Chania.

We stayed 3 nights. Staff was extremely helpful and nice, everyone we met at reception was nice and welcoming, also I want to note the waiter for the breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, my girlfriend is vegan and each morning he brought to her table a tray with variety of vegan options (incl. vegan cheese, milk and more) which we were grateful for. We got upgraded to a suite with 2 bedrooms, everything was really comfortable and we like the pool area. Overall top notch experience.

This is a lovely hotel, very clean, friendly and welcoming staff, great location, as can walk to a few nearby beaches, supermarkets and some local tavernas.
Unfortunately we were delayed by 10 hours traveling from London to Chania, and i communicated this to the hotel. They made sure that someone was there to greet us on arrival and she recommended us the local taverna. The room was clean and spacious with two complimentary bottles of water - and one of them i accidentally dropped in the room! The team were very helpful and helped me clear this up.
Also once I checked out and went to my new hotel in Chania, i realized i left my credit card inn the safe, so rang back up and they found it and i went to collect it from them later on in the day.
The hotel during my stay, the guest were mainly 'boomer' couples and they get up incredibly early and like to reserve their sunbeds (even though there is a note in the room to do not do that). just one thing i think may need to be looked in the height of summer, as if the hotel is full there are not enough loungers. But then, there are a few beaches nearby.
Breakfast I cannot really comment on as it was very hot while I was there and I did not have that much of an appetite.

We had a really spacious room and everything was very clean. Staff is really great and helpful.
The best thing about staying there is their restaurant! We have planned to explore different restaurants in Chania and eat out every night but we ended up eating at hotel’s restaurant for 10 days. Food is delicious and every night we got some deserts or wine for free! Staff at the restaurant is great too!
We wanted to go to the beach every day and it is 15-20min away from the hotel. A little bit too much when is really hot outside. But everything else wad great! We recommend this place for sure!
