Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We are regular visitors to this family run pub and have had only the very best of experiences. Our party size can vary and whether large or small we have only ever experienced excellent food and service. The staff, especially Kailey, are friendly efficient and very attentive. I would recommend this pub for any occasion, whether looking for somewhere to have a quiet pint to celebrating a special occasion.

Cosy, warm, friendly family run inn. Large choice of starters ,main course,Sunday lunch and desserts. Two had delicious starters, one had from main menu ,three had Sunday lunch- beef, pork chicken or combination of all three,Yorkshire pudding and variety of fresh vegetables. No desserts required, too full. Beautifully presented with choice of regular or smaller plate for Sunday lunch.

Visited with friends today for Sunday lunch. Amazing food, friendliness of staff, and just a lovely place to be. A busy buzzing atmosphere both child and dog friendly with open fires lovely Christmas decorations. Food was well presented with fresh vegetables and no need to ask for extra gravy

I ate here whilst walking the Coast to Coast. As a solo dinner I was well looked after. I had the local dish of Chicken Parma, just a half on recommendation. This was a very generous portion but I still managed the sticky toffee pudding! The pub was busy with a good atmosphere. I am very glad I booked.

Stayed for a couple on nights with my tent whilst playing in a Scrabble tournament. Plenty of space in the field. You need to book a table if you wish to eat as it gets very busy and in not huge inside.

This place has a single spot for campervans as well as a camping field. I stayed with my campervan and had a meal and drink in the pub in the evening. The staff were amazing the food was delicious and the place along with the tranquility is out of this world. I couldn't say a bad word if I tried. Great place, great people.

Beautiful Sunday lunch - warm welcome from staff and excellent quality food. Large portions, quick service, lovely surroundings. Many local pubs couldn’t fit us in for Sunday lunch so we tried here on a whim. Definitely will return, lovely outside seating area too which I’d like to try next time but the rain showers spoilt it for today! 5*

Stopped here for lunch whilst on Coast to Coast walk. Staff were very friendly. Great ales and sandwiches. Sat out in beautiful large beer garden that overlooks cricket pitch. All C2C walkers should try this Pub- a reward for having negotiated crossing the nearby A19.
