What a beautiful setting with the joys of nature all around. The retreat has many different spaces to sit by the fire or just rest in silence if that is what you want. On arrival you could see it was perched upon a picturesque location. On being shown our room which had two single beds the room was tiny cold and very dark. At night there was the sound of a pump and constant dripping which was never explained and made rest impossible. It was such a shame to have such stunning views...

We are always very careful to explain that a few rooms do not have views, we supply facilitators with detailed room layouts and descriptions for participant room placements. Amarant is perched up on the hillside of the Yarra Valley. A series of gravel roads leads you from the valley up into the hillside. We stayed at the Amarant over the Easter weekend as a family of four. To get to the house you drive up a series of winding roads, going further and further into wilderness.
