The dinner was fine, the room decor tasteful 'Notting Hill grey' , the pub decor pleasing BUT the lighting needs sorting AND simple things like (as others have mentioned) no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. No, we didn't bring it to the attention of the staff because WE SHOULDNT HAVE TO. We'd brought some shampoo so made do with... More

It breaks my heart writing this review as this is my local pub, however after giving this pub so many chances, i can't understand how they keep messing up the food. On paper their menu is exciting and you will have trouble deciding what to order.... when in reality when your food arrives it resembles nothing like it was described... More

Two of us went for a pub lunch after a gap of many years. The bar room was scruffy and unwelcoming and the staff bored and disinterested. My fish and chips were particularly below average. The batter on the smallish piece of fish was soggy and tasteless, the chips were McCains? and the crushed peas probably frozen. My friend's fishcakes... More

Wonderful location on the edge of the canal and river, the property is old and interesting but also dated and needs a good old fashioned clean and freshen up! Room was ok, tv was tiny and my shower did not work properly, otherwise fine. Chose to eat a burger in the evening which to be honest was terrible, arrived in... More

We have used the Dundas many times over about 20 years when visiting relatives. About 4 years ago the long term private ownership ended and it became part of a group. It is in a perfect location on the banks of the Kennet and Avon canal. Lovely walks and a pleasant village. It was the perfect compromise between a popular... More

My daughter and I stopped off in Kintbury on our way from North East Essex to Somerset. I had booked a night at The Dundas Arms. I had grown up in the village and had passed The Dundas Arms numerous times but of course had never had a reason to stop there. This was my first opportunity to do so... More

Charming extended inn on a peninsular between two waterways. Bonus of a renowned restaurant adjoining. Well-situated for canal-side walks, fishing and other countryside pursuits - theoretically in some of the rooms you could fish from your window!

Nice locarion and open fire in the comfy lounge . Room and bathroom clean but some of the electrical items were not working as the should have been, we pointed this out to staff before we left. On reflection, evening meal was overpriced but it was tasty and well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful but service was a little... More

Stayed here as only place in village and for sentimental reasons. Unfortunately the room was not ready. Given the check in time and only having a handful of rooms it should have been. Apologies made by lovely staff, but should really have been offered a free drink whilst waiting half an hour. The cot was not clean. So had put... More

The pub itself is in a lovely location and is nicely done out with friendly staff. The only let down is the food, which was nowhere near as good as it needed to be for the price. At 1.30pm on a Saturday they had run out of chunky chips for our fish and chips, so we got overcooked fries instead,... More
