We went for a 2 night visit last week. The staff were friendly & welcoming. Food was delicious. Very pretty building in the middle of nowhere, which looked even prettier in the snow! Most comfortable hotel bed ever! Room was warm & cosy but I do agree with earlier reviews that the hall/ staircase were cold due to the outside...

Stayed for two nights to decompress before the big house move. It's tucked away and very much a local establishment that clearly is the choice of local farmers, those on a shoot and others willing to risk driving close to the legal limit. Accommodation is excellent. The meal we had was good quality. I really liked the Brace of Peasants...

We arrived at about 8pm so we couldn't appreciate the surroundings. The hotel is completely off the beaten track. The atmosphere is lovely, comfortable and cosy. The room (we had room 2 in the courtyard) was beautiful, every conceivable touch to make the stay the best had been done ie large cups, large towels (silly I know but still makes...

We are local to this pub and arranged to meet family for a Sunday lunch. It turned out to be very expensive and poor value. The beef was not only bloody and rare but also tough and inedible and the few vegetables were very ordinary. You would expect more for a £15.95 main course. We were in the side room...

The room was adequate and we enjoyed the food and beer, unfortunately during our two night stay it was very cold. The pub kept their door at the rear to the car park wide open. This resulted in the hall and stairway being as cold as the outside and the restaurant/ bar also being very cold. We were told the...

We booked this pub for Sunday lunch and were extremely disappointed by the quality of the food and the attitude of the chef. The roast beef was served extremely rare, with no warning given on the menu or upon ordering, it was also very tough. We were reluctant to complain as are well aware that some people would be happy...

Having driven past the Pub on our numerous days out in Dorset, and after many years, we finally stopped and gave it a go . Fabulous sums it all up and the young lady behind the bar and waiting on tables was an absolute delight and should be an object lesson to others in how charm and professionalism can be...

Spent one night at the Brace of Pheasants and had a very good stay. The room and bathroom were excellent and we had a peaceful night in a comfortable bed. Had dinner in the pub and very pleased with our meals. I had the pheasant which was very popular so reserve early if you like pheasant. My husband chose supreme...

We booked this pub for lunch the week before Christmas and the location is lovely and the pub is quaint. The food was okay basic pub fayre nothing to write home about. Would visit again if passing but not sure it's worth a drive out or a diversion. There are probably better places in the area

Following a morning walk with our dog we were looking for a bite to eat. Neither my wife nor I had visited here for some years - and it appears it has been our loss! Our dog was welcome as long as he was well behaved and had clean feet (it looked like the pub had recently had a new...
