Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I got married at Bury Lodge in June 2023. After a couple of attempts at the wedding during COVID, we finally set a date and went full steam ahead at Bury Lodge. After such a long wait, what a perfect day it was! We viewed a couple of Barn style wedding venues in the area, however nothing compared to Bury Lodge – they didn’t even come close. The venue itself is stunning, the grounds are beautiful and there was plenty of space for all our guests. We had so many compliments from our guests mentioning it was a beautiful venue and one of the best weddings they had been too. We must also mention the food… blooming beautiful. It really was faultless and there was so much of it! Theresa the manager was fantastic leading up to the wedding and was a complete star on the day itself. She was so warm, friendly, and calming and nothing was too much trouble. She was always on hand if we had any questions or needed anything, and her service combined with her excellent team was outstanding. Theresa – you are a true asset to the barn, and we cannot thank you enough. We highly recommend Bury Lodge and couldn’t have picked a better venue for our happily ever after.

An amazing lady. to cold for myself & husband to venture out , we needed to discuss our up coming event with Theresa, but having just come out of hospital , my voice is not good on the phone, so Theresa offered to make a house call. Is this part of the service ,( no) she was very happy to come to us. This alone should remind us all , that there are some nice human beings out there. Theresa is so efficient, so likeable , but above all goes that extra mile. She even bought flowers to our home. Thank you. you truly are what these reviews tell us. REMARKABLE.

Teresa was amazing and did every she could to make our day be perfect. The staff that worked during the day were also great, even my guests were commenting on how nice they were. My husband and I first viewed this venue in February 2019 and instantly fell in love with it. The manager Teresa was so professional and informative and we really liked the way they treat their couples. It could not be further removed from the conveyor belt experience seen at some places. We were originally booked for October 2020 and had to postpone it twice until we finally got married in September 2021. Throughout this time Teresa communicated with us and completely put us at ease. The flexibility and understanding was so appreciated and made a potentially stressful situation very straight forward. We were able to set up the day before and I stayed the night too. This removed so much stress as we didn’t have to worry on the morning of the wedding. Somehow Teresa and her staff make everything run smoothly without you really seeing them. The food was fantastic and we had numerous compliments on this, especially the brownie. The venue has a late license which was a big appeal for us and the bar staff were happy and helpful right until the end. The drinks are also very reasonably priced. The team worked incredibly hard and yet nothing was too much trouble. Another big selling point for us was the number and quality of the hotel rooms. Lots of our family and friends could stay and enjoy breakfast with us the next day which was a lovely way to end our wedding experience. The honeymoon suite is also amazing. The venue website shows you what a beautiful barn it is but it cannot convey what a fantastic service you receive. Teresa and her team provide a professional, friendly and personal experience that I would highly recommend to anyone.

I had the honor of visiting this place recently for a family wedding. What a beautiful venue to have a wedding its absolutely stunning. The hotel the views the banqueting suites and the highest compliment I could give goes to the staff of this place. They say whenever you go somewhere it's not where you go its who you go with. The staff here are so welcoming helpful and sincere. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. They really try and make things possible. Thank you Teresa ( it's me trouble 😆) for all your help and time in making my nieces wedding truly memorable experience. We really appreciate everything you did for us. I wish you every success in future ventures. Take care and keep safe. Please convey my regards and heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Bury Lodge 🙏👍🥂❤😉

Just like to say a massive thank you to Teresa and her team for a fantastic wedding day. Teresa works very hard to turn the room around without even noticing it happening. Fantastic food, venue and hotel facilities. Great breakfast in the morning. Teresa has been great during covid and having to move my date 5 times before I got the day I wanted. Highly recommend this as a wedding venue, you will not be disappointed. Thanks again Sarah and Lawrence Noble.

We recently got married and had our wedding, and l can't even begin to describe what a wonderful day we had! Lovely place in beautiful surroundings, food and service was great, the owner is brilliant and really took care of us well! She even offered us a very reasonable and budget friendly price so we could still have the wedding we wanted without needing to spend a fortune :) l would definitely recommend Bury Lodge!

I could not love a venue and it’s staff more and as an events organiser I have an awful lot to compare it to! We met Teresa in 2019 at a viewing for our wedding. We didn’t just fall in love with the venue straight away we also fell in love with her. Little did we know that we would have to postpone our wedding 3 times due to Covid, we’ve changed our numbers, our meal choices, the amount of rooms we did or didn’t need. I’ve also cried down the phone to her. Yesterday we finally tied the knot and I knew that we had nothing to worry about because it had already been thought of and Teresa would just make everything right. The hotel is beautiful, the food is fantastic, all of the staff were brilliant with nothing too much trouble. Teresa’s daughter Nikishaa was also extremely good at her job making everything just happen. I could not recommend Bury Lodge enough and will be grateful forever!

I am really not to sure if people actually read reviews. But i am going to write this review, because this needs to be said. Yesterday 14/04/2021 i went to Bury Lodge , just hoping there would be someone i could talk with , regards to my 70th Birthday dinner.( Celebration ). I was very lucky to find Theresa on site. This lady moved a little sofa outside, then proceeded to get a blanket out of her car, so myself & husband could sit outside. & chat. Then asked if we would like coffee / Tea, we both answered yes, Then she made a phone call to ask her daughter Nikishaa to go and please get some hot drinks. Theresa apologized, she said sorry we have no fresh milk on site. Within 15 minutes our hot drinks arrived, i seriously can not believe this kind gesture. Our chat regards to our requirements was just so easy, what an extraordinary lady. She explained that she was not yet back to full time work & was only there on the off chance to check on the hotel etc. Her Daughter who also works there was just so lovely, what a pair!!!! Our date is booked, we cannot wait for this 70th Celebration to go ahead & for Theresa & Nikishaa to be part of it. We know that we will be in good hands, Theresa has such passion when it comes to her job. And you do not find this in most places. Theresa , Nikishaa, you truly are a remarkable pair, just never give up !!!!!

Sunday viewing !! Girl you are wasted at this place. Never have i meet such an honest person . You truly are remarkable. We had so many questions & you took your time in answering everyone, we must of been the biggest pain ever ! I don't think i have laughed so much in the last few crazy months. My thoughts on reading your reviews was a bit erm, she cant be that good, but Theresa your even better than people give you credit . 2022 is a long way off, but you have given me the focus we both required. Bury Lodge hold on to this lady. Happy Christmas Theresa , hope santa answer's your pray's.
