We arrived in Salento, and had to look for the place as we were not familiar with the directions of the streets. But it was actually easy as it is to the right when you enter Salento. The road from the end of the street to the hostel is not the greatest, because it is not asphalted but a rocky...

A lovely spot in Salento. The sounds at night were so soothing! Nice room with great shower! A few minutes stroll to main plaza where it was always buzzing. Fantastic kitchen and the staff were very friendly. Excellent coffee tour of Don Eduardo's farm!

This place really gave us a huge smile on our face. We came here without a reservation and Salento was fully booked. The owner, Tim, saved our night and with this our whole trip. Besides a room he gave us a warm welcome and the feeling no matter what he will take care of us. Yes, its true. The place...

The place is very good. The staff is very friendly, the room is pretty okey. You should try Tim's coffee tour and the bike tour. The bike tour is a little expensive but it is a full day activity with lot of wonders.

The hostel is well situated in the countryside with big green area. I stayed just 1 day as I had to go to Cartagena the next day. It was not planned so I was not prepared with credit cards to buy the ticket through Internet. I was in very delicate situation but the woman who was on the reception was...

Stayed here for 3 nights in the dorms. Slept extremely well and the staff was very helpful. Showers were nice and hot and very clean. The WiFi worked great. Lastly we enjoyed the coffee tour for which you get a discount as a guest here.

The room was basic, but full of bugs and not hugely clean. We werent given a tour of the place so only found out very late on that there was a kitchen! The tour of the farm was hugely enjoyable however and very interesting.

Location, setting and vibe of the hostal really made you feel like you were in the coffee plantations. Ideal place to stay if you want to enjoy the natural beauty of the area rather than just another town. Worth staying nights like we did as then you get Tim's coffee tour for free(Don Eduardo) which is the best in Salento....

We stayed for 3 nights in Plantation Two just over the road, hostel was lovely, nice communal area and dorms and setting at a good price.... HOWEVER the 2 female members of staff on the front desk need to either take some time off or consider a career change. They were quite simply the rudest and most unhelpful pair we...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the foothills of the Andes, halfway between the towns of Armenia and Pereira, Salento is in the heart of Colombian coffee country. Conveniently located some 6-8 hours by bus from Medellin, 7-9 hours from Bogota and 4-5 hours from Cali, Salento is the perfect stop off point to explore Colombia´s coffee country. And when you are in Salento, Plantation House (only 5 blocks from the main plaza) is the best location for you to stay. The original Plantation House (PH 1) is a 100 year old coffee plantation house that offers small dormitory and private accommodation with and without ensuite bathrooms, lounge and kitchen facilities. Plantation House Two (PH 2) is a renovated traditional style farmhouse set in 2 acres of land and is literally across the road from the original Plantation House. This also offers both small dormitory and private accommodation with and without ensuite bathrooms. Both Plantation Houses have gas fired hot water systems. Amongst the many services we offer our guests are WIFI, free internet, kitchen facilities, free coffee, book exchanges and book shop PLUS the best most current and accurate tourist information in Salento. In both the Plantation Houses new kitchen and social areas with fireplaces have been constructed.
