The hotel was originally a farmhouse and converted into a hotel over 40 years ago. From 1978 up until 2008 it was owned by the Wright family. In early 2008 the hotel was put up for sale and bought by the Kilroe family who took over the hotel and submitted their improvement plans for the existing building. Then in April 2009 the ‘new’ Red Hall Hotel was officially opened by Sir Alex Ferguson. The hotel is now under new ownership of the Batra family who have exciting plans for the future!

Stayed here on B&B from 25th-30th October. We were in room 26 , one of the upgraded contempo rooms and got an excellent rate for it too .
It was modern decor &comfortable. Had a walk in shower .
We opted not to have housekeeping do our room up daily but asked for fresh towels / toiletries each day.
The lobby area to rooms is a bit dated, carpets and walls need freshened up.

Breakfast starts 6:30am through the week and your table numbers are on the table . All food has to be ordered, nothing is left out as a buffet . There is Plenty choice but probably not as much as if there was a buffet ( think that’s due to less food waste) and you can order extra if needed .

The evening meals are also served in the oscars restaurant, we ate there twice and was good value for money and nice food . The had an offer menu of 2 main courses and a bottle of wine for £30 . So choose that each time. Alcohol only served when eating .
The decor in oscars is lovely and modern.

Masks are to be worn when not seated but sadly as usual not all guests adhere to the rules . Plenty hand sanitizer to use around the hotel .
WiFi worked great also in all parts of hotel .

The staff work long hours and are really good . Special mention to Naz and Chelsea , they were both so polite and hard working and did all they could to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you .😊

Firstly, we had our wedding here in 2021 and it was the most amazing day ever. Warren couldn’t have been a better host and I couldn’t fault a single thing on the day. It was a dream come true!

We have since returned for date night which was lovely. Service is always spot on & the live music was great. The £125 deal is a good offer and includes wine which was tasty. The food was nice, though I would have served the chocolate brownie warm but other than that it was all delicious and a great deal.
We were asked at one point if we would like water for our table. Every other place we have ever visited that has asked this, has provided complementary water & this was the only reason we had said yes. We were shocked to find out it had cost us nearly £4 the next morning and feel like that should have been mentioned.
My main complaint is the noise / walls and this has happened each time I have tried to sleep at red hall. The night before my wedding I was kept awake until 3am by people on the corridor which frustrated me. They weren’t even being particularly loud but you can hear EVERYTHING through the walls. On our wedding night we were woken up at about 7 by the cleaners laughing and talking really loudly outside our room for about 45 minutes. After date night, we couldn’t get to sleep until about 2 as we could hear every single noise coming from the adjoining room (loud s*x, laughing, television) and were woken at 6 by their alarm going off and them getting ready. Something really needs to be done about the paper thin walls and it would definitely put me off staying over again. This is a shame because I’d love to come regularly since it was our wedding venue and the happiest day of our lives but I don’t know if I can justify paying so much to get a lack of sleep. I know quite a few reviews have mentioned this now so do feel like something should be done about this.
Other than that though, we love Red Hall and although I may not stay over again, we will definitely return for another date night.

A marquee had been setup outside in the picturesque gardens keeping in mind the current Covid-19 restrictions in order to allow socially distanced dinning. Every staff member had a face -shield / mask on with gloves . There were hand sanitizers provided in case anyone needed any. The location was surprisingly quiet idyllic too esp for weddings . As for food there was much choice and it was absolutely delicious . The portions were also decently sized . Definitely recommend the food platters and the sticky toffee pudding was just heavenly . All in all a commendable job done by the hotel . Really appreciated the effort made by the staff to comply by the Covid-19 rules and make us feel comfortable & safe to eat out.
We’ll certainly come back again.

The hotel we have visited many times as we live locally, we booked for a valentines treat for some us time away from the children we had booked a local Michelin star restaurant called Levanter so it was the ideal location and the hotel as always did not disappoint.

The rooms are clean and spacious and warm with excellent WiFi the drinks in the bar are good a little expensive but you are at a hotel and the room service from Oscar’s bar later in the nights whilst we watched the Khan v Brook fight through the fantastic WiFi….

All in all good clean hotel on the edge of the beautiful Ramsbottom….

We booked the ‘date’ night with overnight stay as our belated Valentines treat. We have stayed before as our daughter got married here last Sept.

Everything was just perfect. We are fussy eaters. I cook from scratch at home and can tell if I have been served microwaved food etc. We were so pleasantly surprised( although I don’t know why as the wedding food was exceptional). A 3 course meal with wine, a lovely room and the most enjoyable, fresh cooked breakfast all for £99.00. - oh and live singer too. I drink decaf coffee and where ever I go the decaf is very weak and tasteless. Last night, and this morning, I got served the most amazingly rich, strong decaf in my own coffee pot. The perfect end to my meal. One thing that really struck us about the place was that not only were ALL the staff delightful but they all seemed so happy in their jobs and that truly shone through and reflected in us as guests. We were so happy that we have just booked for next month as a treat for our son and daughter-in-law ( we will be doing the babysitting😉). We will also be treating ourselves to another date night soon too. Thank you all again.

We recently stayed here for 2 nights in March for a freinds wedding. We checked in Friday afternoon which was easy, quick and friendly, our room was nice and clean, there was a comfy double bed, a good shower over the bath, there was a TV, hairdryer and tea and coffee in the room.
We had booked a meal with freinds on the Friday night, all the meals were really good, along with plenty to drink, the cost of the meals and drinks was very reasonable. Saturday the wedding was held at the hotel, the wedding itself was upstairs in a really nice bright room the service itself was conducted by a lovely lady. The reception was downstairs, the room/hall was lovely the hotel provided a buffet which was really nice and as the evening progressed the hotel layed on more food, the disco was really good.
The wedding and reception was really well run and organised, all in all a lovely stay at a very nice, friendly hotel where we found all the staff helpful and friendly,

Smiles for miles. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was amazing and very reasonable.
Would recommend for anybody looking for good food in very nice and chic surroundings.

(This was during the Covid19 and and there was plenty of hand sanitizer, social distancing was adhered to at all times and plenty of space around all the dining facilities).

Myself and 2 friends visited today for Sunday lunch, it was a so lovely and welcoming, we had our own dining area so felt very safe and looked after by the staff well. To add to it the food was delicious, highly recommend a visit. They also had an outside seating area that looked lovely to enjoy the food and feel safe in an the open space with lovely views.

I stayed here for one night working away from home. The reception I received was friendly but not pally which is fine. I couldn’t get into my room as I did arrive early so staff were happy for me to sit in the dining area to work.
The reception, communal toilets, bar and dining area are aesthetically pleasing with nice decor throughout. The furniture is robust and nicely matched, really nice.
When I got to my room, it wasn’t quite as nice as the ‘showy’ public areas, but still pleasant enough.
My room was a good size with a double bed, desk/dressing tab, and bedside cabinets. Not new for sure, some scuffs here and there, I guess to be expected. A built in wardrobe and small tv, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and tea/ coffee making facilities. Great. The view was into the fields which was lovely but the pervading noise of traffic reminded me how close to the roads we were.
The carpet was beige, stained here and there, again I guess to be expected. The bed linen was ok and clean. Whilst the pillows were uncomfortable, the bed comfortable and I slept ok.
The bathroom is nicely tiled with a bath and shower.
Now the detail and the Devil…
Above the bed there were significant sized cob-webs, and when looking closely it is clear the whole room and bathroom needs a good clean. There was heavily laden dust on the skirting in the bathroom, not nice. It’s all a little tired and drab.
The food however was really nice, good portions although a bit big for me, however I suspected the thick cut chips were frozen, not nice.

The communications and social media staff member was chatting to me and my colleague as we sat outside in the afternoon / evening sun for a break, and she was lovely, very chatty and clearly passionate about her work. Apart from her and the afternoon / evening receptionist, relations appeared a little forced. Shame, as the ‘suits’ who I took to be the owners seemed to have no passion for their work, although after saying that one lady who appeared to be senior did apologise as I had relayed my disappointment on check out.

At breakfast the next day the table we were given was dirty with drink stains from the previous night. The seats in the booth were also stained.
There were COSHH cleaning materials openly next to the bread basket and toaster, one even with decanted sanitiser which actually breaches COSHH regulations. In fact they should not be openly available on show.

I would return here if I was in the area as it is convenient and not too bad, despite my comments. Maybe my expectations around cleanliness are too high, although there really is no excuse for dirty kick boards on doors, dirty furniture where someone has clearly spilled a drink, torn wallpaper, thick dust and cobwebs.

We've just started a monthly luncheon group. For our first venue we chose Oscar's Restaurant at the Red Hall Restaurant. Seventeen of us consumed really enjoyable food in a very pleasant room served by friendly and helpful staff. My trout, served with a really good Hollandaise sauce was delicious, as was my pannacotta with caramel sauce and a strawberry compote. I shall certainly visit Oscar's again.

We did have problems with noise from wedding guests in the corridors around midnight. Reception were most apologetic and suggested that in future we do enquire about the possibility of this happening so that we could be allocated an appropriate room. Apart from this, the hotel is highly recommended.
