Owned and run by the Salt family for over 30 years, this private club and hotel is close to the Peak District National Park, Horsley Lodge Hotel offers a quiet retreat for those looking for a comfortable stay, fabulous food, an 18 hole championship golf course, or a conference and wedding venue. Just driving through the gate is promising, but as the house appears at the top of the drive, your destination of Horsley Lodge has such beautiful views with bedrooms and bathrooms combining the comforts of home with stylish design. Modern chic meets old style country retreat. The hotel has a clubhouse restaurant available to hotel guests who become "members" for their stay. The award winning interiors give a plush feel and staff create a friendly atmosphere. The restaurant serves a variety of good value food for guests to suit all tastes with emphasis of course on sustainability and good " farm to fork" ethics. This fine Country House built 150 years ago has 12 rooms and 2 cottages, each have super-king size beds, surrounded by fine fabrics and wall coverings giving each room an individual design, most with a spectacular view of the Par 3 ninth hole and beyond to the foothills of the Peak. With its charming bars and cafe , its not just an 18 hole golf course We look forward to welcoming you to see for yourself.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful food in a great setting with lovely friendly staff. The best rib eye pork steak and salmon dishes with generous portions. Far superior to another golf club not far away. We will definitely be back.

A little bit late writing this review but we booked Horsley for a week long business event back in March. Laura did the best job at helping us get everything organised, she went above and beyond to make our event a success. Our worldwide staff could not fault the hotel rooms and food. The space set up for our meetings was perfect, it was exactly what we had requested. The buffet lunch served every day was lovely and great quality! Overall we had a fantastic experience would definitely recommend Horsley for business events. Thank you Horsley!

Awful. Was so disappointed. Had picked this as it was a special get together but really did not live up expectations. I’ve stayed in 9 hotels in the last few weeks and this was easily the worst by far

Came for the golf, lovely layout with some very interesting holes, found the course for the time of year in very average condition, greens very slow, scruffy tees, got the feeling that this is just a money making business concentrating on weddings and parties, feel sorry for the golf club members as they appear to be treated like a second class priority. The course on a number of websites is rated as No1 in Derbysgire, suggest that whoever have that rating should get out more with eyes wide open . Bar staff very polite and welcoming l

We held our Golden Wedding anniversary celebration with 90 family and friends at Horsley Lodge and had a wonderful day. The facilities, food, staff and organisation were all excellent. Laura ensured that everything we wanted was provided and was happy to accommodate all our requests so we got exactly what we wanted. We would definitely recommend Horsley if anyone is thinking of a similar event.
