If you are looking for the perfect place to stay while visiting Lewis and the Callanish Stones, you have found it at Gealabhat Bed and Breakfast. Gregor is the perfect host in every way! We were so fortunate to have him lovingly prepare a candlelit dinner for us each night we were there…the warmth and delicious meals of his cosy home kitchen will long be remembered. We stayed in the Barn, our own spacious hideaway with breathtaking views and all the comforts of home. And to top it all…we were able to easily walk to the mysterious Callanais Standing Stones as often as we pleased…and found ourselves being the only ones there! Thank you Gregor for a very special stay!

Very nice B&B, only minutes away from the stone circle with cosy rooms. Good mattresses. Nice garden. Gregor and Douglas are very welcoming hosts, Gregor cooked a fantastic dinner. Since all guests eat together, we had a nice conversation. Very good breakfast as well. Highly recommended.

Gregor and Douglas are the most genuinely warm and welcoming of hosts we have ever met. We stayed 3 nights in the barn suite which was super clean and comfortable with a wide ceiling-height window in the sitting room, and generous proportions to all rooms. A small fridge with fresh milk (and prosseco!) is provided too. As well as superb breakfasts, Gregor cooked us delicious evening meals, including fresh vegetables from their garden. This was most welcome after a day's sightseeing. All guests ate in the dining area whilst Gregor cooked and happily chatted with us. They are both interesting, intelligent and excellent company. We wish them every success in their future ventures whatever they may be. Gregor, you are a credit to your granny; she would be so proud of you.

It had been a tough cycle from Tarbert to Callinish. This was part of our route along the Outer Hebridean Way. We had tackled 25mph headwinds and hills that pushed us to our physical limits. So we were very relieved to have reached our destination for the night Gealabhat B&B. Our tiredness immediately evaporated (well almost, the legs still ached) from the very warm and genuine welcome we received from host Gregor. A delightful friendly man. He showed us to our accomodation, a converted barn, which was opposite the main house. Not only that, he converted it himself! And what a fine job he made of it. A beautiful and comfortable lounge area, excellent bathroom, and splendid bedroom. Everything was very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Best of all was the home made Victoria Sponge cake and tea, laid out for us on the table. A real treat and absolutely delicious. Gregor cooks supper for his guests as the B&B is more or less miles from anywhere! We were the only two staying this particular night, Sunday 23rd July. The B&B can can have up to 6 guests. We arranged to eat at 7. We needed some rest first. Our room was a brilliant place to relax and unwind. We had an absolutely delicious supper, in the dining area of Gregor's lovely kitchen. He had prepared vegetable lasagne, with a very nice salad and garlic bread, followed by a fruit crumble with cream or ice cream. To eat this meal in these traditional, homely, friendly, surroundings was a wonderful experience. It was enhanced by the company of Roland and Barney Gregor's two Beagle dogs. They were obviously both very spoiled and very loved doggies, and very well behaved! They showed no shame. They would roll onto their backs for a tummy rub to anyone. To doggie lovers like Rachel and myself this was heaven! Breakfast was as good as the supper. It was a shame to leave Gealabhat, but we had to continue our journey. A wonderful place to stay. Accomodation and food both of excellent quality and value. We would highly recommend it to everyone.

We arrived at Gealbhat Callanish B&B, with slight colds and not having fully recovered from our 39+ hours of travel. The barn was private, warm, comforting and immaculately presented. Gregor was welcoming and his food is delicious. We enjoyed his sticky toffee pudding and Cathy is still thinking about the toffee sauce! The B n B is very close to the standing stones. Totally reccommend this B n B. It was 1 of the highlights of our 3 week holiday. Thank you Gregor and Douglas for a fabulous stay.

Absolutely superb B&B. A warm welcome, very comfortable room and bed, fantastic big shower. Spotlessly clean. Effective blind and curtains in the room - important for getting a good sleep at this time of year when it's light outside until almost midnight and darkness only lasts four hours. Location is perfect for exploring Lewis and Harris, no more than an hour's drive to Ness at the north end, about ninety minutes to Rodel in the South, and about twenty minutes from Stornoway. The famous Callanish standing stones are a few minutes walk up the road. Breakfasts were excellent with a good variety of options to choose from and fantastic coffee from a proper espresso machine. Home made jam and local honey on the table too. Gregor was the perfect host, taking time to chat with guests about things to do locally. He also seemed quite happy to let me practice my rudimentary Gaelic which I really appreciated. Tapadh leibh! Starting to plan my next Hebridean trip already and will stay longer here next time. I stayed in the main house but Gregor showed me the new barn before I left. It's absolutely stunning, with massive windows and it's obvious a lot of work has gone into the renovation and decoration.

This wonderful B&B just a few minutes walk from the Callanish Stones, is absolutely worth a stay! Host Gregor makes you feel SO welcome, and the new Superking Barn Suite was such a touch of luxury to be enjoyed any day, but when we arrived cold, wet and tired on our cycle through the Outer Hebrides it was a glorious treat! Welcomed with a bottle of wine and it all so warm, cosy and comfortable, we stretched out on the generous lounges in the living room, with lovely rural views and felt instantly, blissfully relaxed. The suite is brand new and lovingly built by Gregor himself, with high quality fittings, huge bedroom and generous bathroom and it had everything you could possibly need. As for meals...wow! Gregor cooked us both the evening meal and breakfast and they were just wonderful. Freshly cooked, using local produce, the gourmet 2 course dinner was amazing and great value (the dinner was booked separate to the accommodation), and the (included) breakfast the best of our whole trip - our choice of eggs benedict plus a lovely array of cereals and extras, fuelled us up beautifully for the days cycle ahead! Thankyou Gregor for looking after us like we were family!

Gregor, you have a wonderful B&B. We really enjoyed our stay here. It's comfortable and accommodating. The breakfast was outstanding. It's so quiet in this area. The Callanish stones are just a short walk. If we get back to Scotland, we will definitely come back here.
