Looks lovely but found it very hot and noisy as we were situated to the side of the main entrance. We were disappointed in the food choices though may appeal to others. However, the spa was wonderful and the therapist very accommodating. Car parking not easy.

Definitely a great choice. Romantic ambiente, big clean rooms with comfortable beds, quite and well equipped (fridge, hair dryer, coffee maker, rain shower, etc). In very good condition, probabky fresh renovated. Free parking, free WiFi. Only negativ - our room was too far away for the WiFi and in the town there is not much to do.

I was presented this hotel for a stay in Jaen (23 km away), and I was fascinated by its "ancient" looking. Actually, the hotel is in a historical palace in this small village, and its charme is without any doubt... fascinating. I am satisfied by my stay, but some aspects could be improved. The rooms need some renewals (the window...

Just stayed one night at the Palacio de Mengibar as a stop on a long drive from Tarifa to Barcelona. Booked online and got an upgraded room for $70 on hotels.com. Don't know if we were the only guests but the place seemed empty and was dead quiet. The room (room 1) was really nice, with a fantastic bathroom and...

On the one hand, we really liked the place. This is a good combination of authenticity and modern touch in a way I like it, i.e. when exterior & interior are all historical while appliances and fittings are modern and high quality. Really like their bathroom with a window. Beds are really comfortable. Location is perfect, right in the centre....

A nice palace which is now a samll hotel . The village has nothing to see but the hotel itself. I was planning to visit the spa but it only opnes on week ends. We were the only customers around so everything looked a bit boring. Prices are very low and rooms are good. Staff nice and helpful but I...

The location of this hotel is great, right on the main square, ancient palace, looked like it had good facilities with the Roman baths. But that's really where the dream ended, the pools at the entrance were drained and looked like they had not been filled for months, the small fountains in the entrance courtyard too was empty. Then when...

Excited by the description but disappointed by the reality. We got a good price on-line compared to the book price but none of the facilities, including the bar and the restaurant, were available due to a wedding taking place. The wedding noise went on until the early hours of the morning. We were unable to find a suitable place to...

Our first impressions of the hotel were good, we were impressed with the olde worlde look of the castle, however this is where it ended. The room smelt of damp, probably because of the large damp patch in the bathroom. Wifi was not available in the rooms furthest from reception and the phones on the second floor didn't work :S...

The spa and pools are not available during the week. These are open only 16:00-21:00 on weekend. The hotel is located in the old palace but don't expect palace rooms )) these are very normal hotel rooms. We stayed in similar place (15 century palace) in south Italy - that was really like in a palace. Wifi is slow and...
