Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This property has been owned and operated for several generations by the same family. Pride of ownership and culture is obvious. Our room was clean and comfortable. All the breakfast items were home made and we were encouraged to take as much as we wanted with us. Although supper was available at a restaurant just a two minute walk away within the village, we chose to walk up to a nearby lake where we enjoyed a drink. The walk took just 20 minutes along a quiet country road. On the way back, we stopped for supper at one of the hotels located on the hill side. This is an excellent location if you're visiting Gordys or Phaistos.

What a beautiful place to stay. Zaros is a lovely, quite traditional mountain village and Keramos is situated at its heart. We received a very warm welcome and were given a choice of rooms (early in the season so not full). We chose a room on the top floor with views over the rooftops to the mountains beyond. The room was very comfortable (fridge, kettle, hairdryer and lovely furnishings) with a typical Greek bathroom and was spotlessly clean. We particularly enjoyed sitting outside for breakfast - a real feast. The freshly made cheese pies were amazing! Astonishing value for money, we will return.

This is the greatest small hotel I've been in any aspect: clean and cozy rooms, nicest hospitality, traditional homemade food for breakfast' I can't ask for more. I've been there twice, and I will come again.

This was our third time staying at the Keramos and once again, we were thrilled by the experience. A warm welcome from the always-smiling Katerina and her granddaughter, gorgeous authentic Cretan decor, an astonishing and abundant breakfast (with lots leftover for a picnic lunch!) at an incredible price. The rooms are clean and comfortable with cozy beds, lots of hot water and a beautiful view of the mountains surrounding this tiny village. If you ever get the chance, you simply must go. I know you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back again - simply to see Katerina's smile, if nothing else.

First - this is not a fancy five star hotel - the rooms and bathrooms, while clean and comfortable, are basic. Ours had a fridge and a kettle for tea, which was nice. The staff speaks almost no English and yet were some of the most welcoming people I've met. And the breakfast - home-made pies and pastries (the warm chocolate pie was my favorite), fresh fruit, greek yogurt, Cretan tea. A very nice stay.

My daughter and I stayed here in Jan 2019 on our way back to Iraklios and so glad we did. The rural inns in Crete are so wonderful with such warm hospitality, this family-run in was no exception. Breakfast was also wonderful, especially the freshly-made pastries. I'd stay here again and found travel in Crete during low-season winter time also wonderful due to low season tourists numbers, great for exploring and visiting ruins nearly all to ourselves some days. We rented a car and drove around rural Crete, we will especially remember the warm hospitality in rural Cretan inns and tavernas. We'd highly recommend this inn.

The hotel was very good as a traditional house, the rooms are pretty and the beds really comfy but if you want something fancy with soundproof walls this is not it. The breakfast was great everything homemade from the hostess and willing to help us with everything!

We loved our stay here and would highly recommend it. It's in a great location near to the main town but wonderful quiet and idyllic. The lady who runs it is an amazing cook and made the most incredible (and plentiful) breakfast with homemade traditional pies and cakes as well as a continental breakfast - perfect to set us up for a day of cycling. The rooms are really big and the balcony was wonderful. Comfy bed and quiet too.

We were welcomed with open arms & quickly shown to our rooms. The rooms were spacious , very clean, air conditioned with a small balcony. Our hosts explained that they had daily activities that any or all of the guests could join in on. These included a traditional pastry cooking demonstration 6pm. We enjoyed this very much, very easy, simple tips. They also bring the farm donkey into town & offer free rides to anyone. The next day they had a farm visit with onsite demonstrations of milking & making Greek fetta along with other farm activities. Great for all ages from the kids to seniors. The breakfast was amazing you need to check the photo attached to appreciate the number of different freshly cook pastries there were on one table.

Although we were looking forward to staying here for several nights, we were very surprised when the owners had no record of our booking. They eventually suggested that if we cancelled our booking with the booking service they would upgrade us to a larger room. This room had no equipment eg kettle in the kitchenette, no toiletries in the bathroom and the last few sheets on the single toilet roll provided. The beds were the most uncomfortable we slept on during our three weeks in Crete, and mosquitoes gave us a restless sleep.
