The hotel is really something special, very nice and the view is spectacular. For kayaking the area is perfect- we spent the weekend kayaking around in the archipelago, we will be back!! The restaurant was good, fish and meatmeny.
Wonderfull team. Welcoming and friendly. Organization is great and they were flexible to make sure everyone's needs are met. Food was great. We enjoyed our stay there, deffinitely and whole heartedly recommend it to anyone. Do not miss the trip to Ian's pets, if there 😊 Thank you sooo much!!
We are a family of 3 persons, two adults and 1 kid. We drove to kingstad because it was a wonderful place for kajaking. It was recommended in some travel guides. We booked for rental of kajak for 4 adults and 1 kid and also we booked for dinner at this nice restaurant. When we arrived to the place. We were hosted by a woman who told us everything we needed to know for the rental. When we took all necessary equipement, an aged man showed up and started asking about our level of expertise for kajaking in a very rude and unpleasant manner. Despite our efforts to calm down the situation, the man treated us really bad and we finally decided to cancell everything, both the kajak and dinner. We were really dissapointed with this because the surrondings of the restaurant are really wonderful and nice place for staying the day. It is really a pitty that this place is being managed by this man. In addition he believes that the parking lot belongs to him and if you arrive with the motorhome he will come to you and in the same rude manner he will tell you to bugger off” just like he did to other people, unless you are staying in the restaurant. By the way, the man is not a local norwegian but an english man. Unpleasant experience…
Ian and Karina and their whole crew are amazing: they shared so much with us! Arctic kayaking in the fjords, eagle safari by boat, Mose sightseeing, hiking recommendations, photography advice, saami encounters, snow-shoeing, aurora borealis explanation and hunting, norwegian cooking, we have done it all - and it is all amazing: they are driven by their passion in an ideal environment, and a wonderful house literally on the banks of a norwegian fjords. We spotted seals visiting us at breakfast... unforgettable experience. My stay is not over but I already know that I will be back. Thank you for everything, this is undoubtedly one of the best experiences and holidays of my life! Judith :)
We received a warm welcome from Ian the moment we got off the bus. Once we arrived at the house we were made to feel very welcome. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side but Ian, Korina and there team made every effort to ensure we got the most out of our stay. Well worth a visit for many reasons.
My wife and me spent two nights last December. Our two bedroom apartment was clean , with all amenities and had two windows toward to direction to the water. Nice cosy place. We saw aurora dance one night from our window, the other night weather was cloudy. It is a super tranquil place, we enjoyed too much. Ann and Ian was so helpful, Ian suggest us a eagle safari with boat , we reject for first day as we planned to see all area by car ( we went to Gimstad, Staurme, Eidet, Skarvagen) , unfortunately second day weather was not good and we miss that safari with Ian. As we Arrived Evenes after 3 flights, I thought it is not wise to drive , and Ian was so kind to come to airport himself to drive for us with our rental car to Ringstad ( with some extra €) , but for us it was necessary after long flight. We sure to come back , and enjoy more Bo area and go for eagle safari.…
Very nice Christmas diner. In fact all meals (three times a day) were great and so were the excursions guided by Ian or Ann Karina: into the fjord watching eagles, a walk in the snow, a huskey tour and last but surely not least the Aurora. Succeeded to catch that on photo thanks to Ian's tips!
Brilliant sea eagle safari on the fastest boat on the planet. Stopping in a fjord to listen to the silence was magical. Wonderful fish soup and home-made bread for lunch. Worth the 5000 mile journey from the USA!
We enjoyed a fantastic boat trip getting up close and personal to these fantastic birds. The Sea Eagles are the most incredible birds to see the so close swooping down for fish was an experience not to forget. This was also accompanied by stunning scenery and other birds along our trip. Our trip was topped of by finishing with a delicious bowl of fish soup.
I Booked this location as a Celebration of reaching my 60th Birthday and thought I would treat my partner to a dream holiday as she is looking after 2 special needs girls. Only a short distance from the Airport the minibus ended up overturned in a ditch thankfully not seriously injured but shaken up. I would recommend anyone wanting to travel to this accommodation during the Winter Months to take Public Transport and Taxi as from my experience it is a lot safer. Accommodation is Clean and homely with Great views over the water to the surrounding mountains and the Dining Room is spacious with lovely views. Rib trip to see the Eagles and surrounding area is spectacular however disappointed regarding limited amount of fish taken to attract them. At the time of our visit there was building work right outside our room which resulted in quite a bit of noise and access to part of the decking was blocked due to scaffolding .…
