We had a very nice stay at Ekspedisjonen. This hotel is totally renovated and has the prime location in this unique old fishing village Nyksund. Everything was fine and friendly, and the restaurant was superb. I took the "Nyksund taste plate" first and then the stock fish. Both highly recommandable. Nyksund has a very dramatic and interesting history and it...

We were supposed to stay one Night, but ended up staying longer. You might prefere a larger Room, but a better Bed? No. Breakfast far Beyond Continental style. And the view from the Room: Excellent - fantastic nature and People around. This is a must in Your life. Far away from city noises.

We were so excited, we looked forward to a meal everyone had praised to the skies. We had booked a table. When we arrived we had to wait 17 minutes without anyone came and ministered us. Finally we just went in and found an empty table where we sat. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated, but has no view. The appetizer...

This place is just wonderful - we had a beautiful, big room with fjord view, the bathroom is in perfect condition. We got a beautiful private breakfast with everything we needed. If you stay at this place, you really notice in every minute that you´re welcome. So we can highly recommend Ekxpedisjonen if you´re in Nyksund or around (make sure...

A surprising quality of food lay waiting at the end of the road in a reconstructed fishing village on the North Sea coast on an island in Vesteralen. The town, brought back to life by artists a decade ago us so charming and rustic. Ringo and Monika have made this restaurant here and another in nearby Sortland a must while...

The first good surprise was this charming and isolated village, that you can reach by car from Myre or walking from Sto. Then this restaurant was our best gastronomic experience in Northern Norway. Local ingredient (mainly fish) with a mediterranean twist, very tasty and surprisingly sophisticated. A very good surprise indeed. We found the desserts slightly less convincing. (we also...

I went there just to grab something to eat after a 5 hour walk, and was pleasantly surprised! Although the menu was written in Norwegian, my dish was quite tasty and well presented and the staff and the owner were friendly. I went back the day after with a friend for a cup of tea and a slice of homemade...

We discovered this charming place totally by accident. One must really want to Nyksund to get there. Situated at the end of a narrow dirt road tat hugs the fjord, Nyksund is an old Norwegian fishing village that died an is attempting to come back to life. The reflections in the harbor are to die for! The Nyksund Ekspedisjonen has been...
