Marc and Joanna lovingly brought new life into this historic property, restoring it while keeping many of its original details and elements. It's a perfect balance of new and old with airy, light high-ceilinged rooms and common spaces, original wood floors and beams and gorgeous views out onto the lake. The gardens are beautifully landscaped in parts and in others summer wildflowers grow unhindered.
The property sits right on the lake and is surrounded by nature; hiking trails, mountainbiking trails and skiing in winter.
Breakfast is delicious and also made and served with lots of love and care; fruits, breads, jams, cheeses, cereals and choices of vegan and regular yogurts... To name some of what is served.
You'll definitely want to stay longer. Our dog loved it too!

Stayed here for a single night while travelling from Copenhagen to Sälen to go skiing.
The hosts are so extremely friendly and you will be treated excellently, while staying here. That is from you enter the lodge to checkin, personal introductions to the facilities and specially cooked breakfast in the morning.
Was really a pleasure staying here from A-Z - and then we realized in the morning that the spot is extremely beautiful as well with a nice view of the lake in a very nice setting. Think it would be really nice to visit here in th summer as well.

Hej Michael, Thank you so much for this nice review. We try hard to give every guest the same feeling as you just described. And yes, visiting us during summer is also worth the trip. Always welcome to stay another time at THE LODGE - Torsby. Best wishes, Marc and Joanne

If we have rooms left, we always welcome travelers just passing by on the E45/E16; main roads heading north and east in Sweden. We often do have long distance travelers and they enjoy our cozy place and feel at home; some of them have become ‘frequent flyers’

We only stayed here for one night, but we might come back for more! The location is very nice, straight on a lake and close to a wintersport area. Both perfect for summer walks and swimmming as well for wintersport activities. Very nice hosts (Dutch!), good breakfast and a good guide. Loved it, Thanks!

We had a great time! Very friendly hosts and good atmosphere. We spent the evening barbecuing with them and other guests. Great location with a huge garden next to the water. Newly renovated, very clean and beautiful rooms. Highly recommended!

Very friendly owners. The lodge rooms are nice, clean and tidy and breathe the atmosphere of the centuries old house.
Sustainability is really important for the owners and this shows in many ways.
The Lodge is on a quiet spot right at the lakeside with very nice walking and hiking opportunities in the area, including a Natur Reservat within 6 km.
Canoes etc are available.
Beds and showers are great as well as the breakfast.
I we need to mention one disadvantage: the nearest restaurant is 10km away.
Well recommended.

Er spent one night here during our motorcycletrip. We were met by the hosts and they are so friendly! We got a beautiful, clean room decorated in an old-fashioned very charming style. There are lots of space both indoors and outdoors. The small details made this place a unique haven situated near the river and forest. Very nice breakfast. I truly recommend this place!

Nice surroundings, great views, really friendly owners. I can highly recommend this B&B. Feels more like a better hotel to be honest, but more genuine.
I will definitely come to stay here again in near future.
Keep up the good work!
Best regards
