First thing to bear in mind is that this site is primarily used by those completing the 3 peaks challenge and for that the position is ideal as it literally starts across the road. Because of this it is probably not ideal if you are planning on doing anything else. Most people are obviously up and out early (anytime between 5-7am) and with the addition of the fact that the site backs onto a field of sheep who wake up at dawn do not expect the opportunity if a lie in. There is also lots of movement in terms of tents again because people are stopping over to hike and then moving on. After completing the 3 peaks (which is tough) people obviously also need to celebrate so evenings again can be noisy but is a joyful sort of way. The site was clean, pitches were mown out and all had a bin and a table which was great but the facilities are basic to say the least. Although clean the ladies toilets are in dire need of an update and I would not have entered the shower. There are more modern showers which are unisex by the mens toilets which are better and you need £1 which gives you 10 mins. People running the site a friendly but booking organisation is non existent. Luckily when we arrived it was quite empty but I would worry when things go back to normal that you might turn up and there not be any details about your booking. They also only take cash so go prepared although it is ridiculously cheap (we paid £90 for 4 people in 2 tents for 3 nights which is an absolute bargain). All in all it is a perfect location for walking and Yorkshire is stunning but would be nice to come back after a 24 mile walk up 3 peaks to a bit more luxury in terms of toilets and showers

Campsite is open and toilets are available in accordance with the current guidelines. Unfortunately the showers still closed so bring some wet wipes.
The positives are the weather is great and the views haven’t changed at all.
Each pitch has an allotted area and the toilets are cleaned repeatedly during the day.
Social distancing is everyone’s responsibility so plan ahead and for your individual requirements.
Non of the pubs are open in the village until the 17th May at this stage.
So again plan food and beverages and Settle is only 5 miles away for all the shops and cash point.
Call Chris at the campsite for anymore information.

I had to leave a review for this place, as I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Holme Hall campsite. We had originally booked 2 nights here to do the Three Peaks in September, however we thought we’d go stay for 1 night in advance to get a good feel for the place.

Firstly, It’s soooo cheap! £5 per person (there was 2 of us) £3 per car & £2 for a dog. £15 all in for a nice little trip and compared to the others I saw on pitchup who were charging £30+ per night. This is cash on arrival too.

Right from booking over the phone, we were made to feel welcomed and safe, they had let us know what was in place regarding covid regulations. They were happy for us to come as early as we wanted, and we also wasn’t pressured to checkout at any time in the morning, so we got to do another walk the next day and pack up in our own time.

Amazing location, a couple of minutes walk to the start of Pen-Y-Ghent route, so we managed to do this walk in a few hours and stop at the pub on the way back to camp.

Let’s be honest at £5 a person, you don’t expect luxury showers and facilities, but they were clean, tidy and looked after. £1 for 10 minutes shower, not bad at all.

We got such a nice spot on the camp, right in the corner next to the wall (Our lovely neighbours were some sheep! Which made some funny noises and entertained us) we had a 4 man tent and enough room for a windbreaker which was nice for a little privacy. The feel on the camp was a nice one - everyone was friendly and followed the rules. I’m 24 and my boyfriend is 27, we had a little drink and then to bed at around 10.30, we had no trouble sleeping even with some people still awake and enjoying themselves.

All round a perfect, simple campsite with no frills, and amazing views! The owner and his friend who was at reception are so lovely and helpful too!
We can’t wait to come back in September for 2 nights.

Firstly, the location is great! Perfect for 3 peakers. There’s a pub next door which serves hearty food and is dog friendly.

The camping field is absolutely packed at the weekends. There is no noise control or restrictions so sleeping is not easy. Lots of music into the early hours and loud voices.

The camper van / caravan area has 4 hook ups at one point. Bring an extension lead as it’s on a hill.

The toilets and showers in the camping field are ok. The facilities for women are not up to standard - there is only one shower across the whole site. Showers are £1 for 10 minutes. There is no hot water out of the taps for hand washing or dish washing.

The facilities in the camper van/caravan field are poor. A metal container with one toilet for women and 2 toilets for men. No hot water to wash your hands and the toilets are not cleaned or replenished every day.

The owner(s) is helpful and pleasant enough.

This is on/next to a working farm. It’s a really nice spot. It’s a shame about the facilities and the noise. With a few tweaks this could be awesome.

This camp site is a short walk from the train station. There are two local pubs nearby serving food. Idea place for 3 peaks or walking/ cycling in general.
If you come by car you park in a small car park away from the tents, this also goes for motor homes.

The wash block has showers which are £1 for 7 mins, which was actually more than enough time. Also pan washing with nice little touches as washing up liquid and scrubbers.

The field is flat, soft grassy and there is a grid system cut into the grass, most but not all have a picnic table to use.

When we went mainly school kids, actually polite and pleasant school kids.

There is a small team assisting Chris and all very pleasant.

Lovely little site suited for camping low key with beautiful view of surrounding hills.

This is a great placed camp site for hiking Pen y Ghent and in beautiful surroundings.

The facilities are very basic but cleaned regularly and surprisingly, considering how many tents were packed in the field, I didn’t have to queue for the loo. They have made some adjustments to follow covid 19 guidelines.

The weekend I visited the site was packed and you just had to pitch your tent in any little space you could find - A bit too busy for my liking.

The guys running the place are characters.

There’s a pub a few minutes walk away and Settle is about 6 miles away.

We stayed at Holme Farm campsite fpr 2 nights in October half term with 2 teenages to walk up Pen -y- ghent, we booked on the phone which was easy to do, price was on for electric hook up £20 a night. Its just off the road with a hard standing area with electric hook ups for some and a large field for tents. The toilets are clean and tidy, showers cost a £1 , you need a pound coin. Reception is staffed by a great elderly gentleman man who was waiting for us. And the site is 2 minutes walk from the Golden Lion pub, which we had a really nice meal in, the road is a little busy with lorry's I presume going to the local quarry? but a good stay at a nice site in the lovely Yorkshire dales.

We stayed here in our motorhome to do our first peak, Pen y Ghent.
The location is perfect, only a few hundred metres from the start of the walk. A dog friendly pub is 100 metres away. There is also another pub in the village but I suggest reading reviews.
The price is good at £15 night or £20 with EHU,
There are toilets and showers, very basic, unheated but adequate and clean.
In a motorhome you stay on the carpark, this is more like an Aires than a campsite.
Most, if not all the campers there were walking Pen Y Ghent or all of the 3 peaks, for that purpose the campsite is ideal so despite the toilets and no pitch parking I cannot mark it down
Groups gathered in the car park on a morning to meet up and plan their day, things start early in these parts so expect noise from first light, in fairness it's to be expected.
The tent are was fairly level, had picnic tables and looked a great place to pitch a tent.
I can highly recommend here if walking the 3 peaks. We had a great weekend.

Stayed here 3 years in a row. Planning to make it 4. It’s not glamorous but it has the essentials you need. First year I stayed I didn’t realise there are showers round the back. Great pub only a few yards away. Peaceful with beautiful scenery. It’s a fantastic place to start and finish the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. Simply walk out of the car park to begin and finish it when you’re coming back from the other side. Did it in 7hr 51 last year. Staying here again to do it with the missus. (Will probably do it in double that time with her) Its reasonably priced here and every time I’ve stayed I’ve never seen any rowdy crowds. We’ll maintained field. Water tap at the top. Shower facilities and bogs. What more do ya need when ya camping? Si thee soon.

It is a working farm so I suggest you try phoning a few times at regular intervals. The camp site is in a great location with clean facilities. Perfect for Borrowdale, Langsgarth and Buttermere.

Yes as long as you do not use them directly on the grass. Ask Chris for hard surface to stand on such as rocks, bricks etc
