Denise and David were just amazing when we arrived having been given a lift because we had suffered punctures to both our back tyres on the road from Ceres to Sutherland. They helped us to explain to the AA where our vehicle was, booked dinner for us, gave us a lift to the Observatory and SALT telescope and organised a...

Primrose Cottage Sutherland. Traveling to Sutherland to visit Salt the South African Observatory, incidentally one of the largest telescope in the Southern Hemisphere, we were privileged to have accommodation at Primrose Cottage for 2 nights. Professionally organized and superbly run by David and Denise this is a B&B not to be missed. Although just a very small town it has...

Two nights stay at this small Primrose Cottage B&B did not disappoint! Denise & David made us very welcome in this small and remote North Cape small town. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed including a very good breakfast. Cosy duvets ensured we slept well as the temperature fell. As Friendly and...

Comfortable accommodation, excellent hosts. Lovely small Karoo town. Brilliant star gazing with Jurg and a good visit to SALT. Most delicious lamb shank & lemon meringue pie on this planet. Tranquil and peaceful.

Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The rooms were beautifully appointed, warm and cosy. Breakfast was excellent and the wealth of knowledge shared of routes, passes and trails was most helpful. Will most definitely return

What a lovely home! We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Primrose Cottage this weekend, and absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. Our Hosts David & Denise where wonderful! They welcomed us with open arms, and went a step further than usual guest houses and booked our dinner reservation (which was extremely thoughtful of them). The breakfast was amazing...

WE had the pleasure of staying at Primrose Cottage again in April 2016 - and now have good friends there to share our travel adventures with. WE chatted up a storm and drank bubbly and then chatted some more! David showed us the night sky and it was really special, how nice to see the Southern Cross, Orions Belt and...

Primrose Cottage is a welcoming, warm and friendly place to stay. Denise and David, our hosts were so kind and helpful with bookings and information. The rooms were comfortable and bathroom facilities good and quirky in the one room. The homeliness, good breakfast and friendliness of our hosts made us feel almost that we were with family and wish we...

Sutherland is off the beaten track and it's not easy to find good accomodation. People visit here to see the SALT telescope and the stars, and everything focuses on that. Primrose cottage is like visiting friends. Our room was small, warm and comfortable. We had our own bathroom but had to cross a passage to get there. Wonderfully hospitable owners...
