Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our family (Mum, Dad, 7 year old son and dog) stayed for 3 nights (1st May bank holiday) with friends and had a great time. We had our camper van, the friends a large tent. Liz and Mike were perfect hosts. When I realised I had forgotten some ingredients for paella, Liz kindly raided her kitchen for me. The park is friendly and safe for children. The kids really enjoyed petting the turkey chicks and guinea pigs as well as seeing the mummy chickens and Brenda the turkey and their chicks wandering around. Fresh chicken and turkey eggs are available onsite.
The pitches are very generous, completely level and there are no extra charges for awnings, additional cars etc like other sites. Fire pits are allowed, we used ours every night. I liked that the pitches are only round the outside of the fields and not crammed into every available space. As the shower / toilet facilities are individual they were open (Covid has meant a lot of sites with communal facilities are keeping those closed). The showers were hot and the facilities are spacious.
Location wise it is great for walking to Kynance Cove to the west or Cadgwith Harbour to the east.
I will return to Little Threthvas but I need to pay more attention to packing ingredients.
We took a walk around the site and saw the self catering cottages, caravans, and glamping tents, it looks like they cater to all tastes.
Thanks Liz and Mike, see you soon!

My husband and I stayed here for a blissful 7 nights , the campsite is very clean and friendly with a variety of pitches and other quirky accommodation. There are adorable chickens and chicks wondering around the site anf its a perfect location for exploring the Lizard. The campsite is run by a very welcoming family. I had my birthday while I was here and had a card which was sent by my Mother to the site, hand delivered to my tent as a surprise. Such a lovely touch.

From the moment we arrived Liz and Mike were so helpful and welcoming. They always seemed to be busy helping or chatting with someone staying on the site or helping the children feed and say hello to the chickens or guinea pigs. The campsite was full the whole time we were there but didn’t feel claustrophobic at all like we have found at some other campsites. Children played happily and loved the chickens wandering around.
There are plenty of toilets and showers which are cleaned regularly. Lovely huge shower heads too!
All appropriate measure are in place following COVID guidance.
We came with three teenagers and a dog.
There are lots of beautiful beaches around, even for the dog. Kynance cove is stunning but no dogs during the day so we went down after 6pm. It was less crowded then and we enjoyed walking and even a swim in the cove (well, the kids did!). Liz was very helpful when we were stuck for ideas or wanted advice.
There is plenty to do without spending a fortune. The most expensive activity we did was a self drive boat hire at St Ives for £60 for all 5 of us and the dog for an hour. It was brilliant.
The washing up facilities were helpful.
It was easy to find from the main toad and easy to get to with our trailer tent. Caravans and campers seemed to be fine too.
We had a great time and everyone in our group highly recommends this lovely friendly campsite.
Thank you Mike and Liz for a lovely stay after such a strange few months of being shut away during lockdown.
Blessings from the Dobson family 😊

On arrival we was greeted by Liz, she was friendly and welcoming giving me a pitch number and a map with walk information, all in all a nice welcome. the pitch size was good. The site it self was clean and tidy but i presume there was muck spreading going on in neighboring fields as the stench was very strong, there was chickens roaming around which i quite like, but was afraid of running them over. We put our tent up and started to get into camping until it came to me needing the loo! I walked up to the toilet blocks to find numerous spiders (I have arachnophobia) can't stand spiders big or small, I understand that in the countryside you will get some spiders but these were taking over. There was numerous dogs on the campsite which 99% of them were very well behaved and to be honest you didn't really know they were there, apart from one which was in the field behind us, my goodness that dog did not shut up and its owner did not attempt to shut it up either.
My partner and i got no sleep whatsoever because of this dog we had traveled 4 and a half hours to get away for some peace and this was what we got.
in the middle of the night i needed the loo and made my way to the toilets, well the first one i came to had a massive spider in the doorway so i could not enter because of my phobia, so that night i couldn't use the conveniences. Liz told me that she de- spiders everyday well sorry Liz but that is rubbish as there is egg sacks everywhere in the loos. I refused to shower as the walls were very damp in the toilets/showers and mold was also in abundance on shower curtains and walls.
I decided after less than 24 hours on the site that it was time I went home, I just couldn't stay somewhere that I was afraid to use the facilities. There was no WiFi as advertised on the site! When I arrived back home I emailed Liz before writing this review and explained why we left, Liz cannot take criticism, I am a business owner myself and find criticism very important as that is how you make improvements to your business. Her basic response to me was many many people return so she must be giving the darling buds of may experience!! No partial refund was offered either, which would have been a nice touch. Little bit of advice Liz...listen to what your guests like and didn't like and improve on the stuff they didn't like, that way your business will grow beyond your dreams

Owner Liz very friendly. Arrival received a great welcome with information leaflets.

This site is in between two main roads so is noisy. Not something we like.
The rubbish bins were overflowing and messy.
The bottom corner near toilets & wash up area was smelly.

Facilities well im sorry to say needed a good jet wash with disinfectant.
I get they are situated in barn /shed type buildings but the amount of cobwebs, bugs, debris & grime build up was i feel a accumulation over time and can be managed better. We have visited a few sites like this set up and they have been immaculate.
The toilet steps for little ones were filthy. Mop & buckets outside also dirty with water not changed regularly.
If your going to have shower curtains take them down regularly, wash and rotate them.
The wooden boards for your feet were absolutely disgusting. Picked one up to clean after use and it was slimy.
I get not everyone cleans after they have used facilities but im sorry deep cleans are a must.

Frosted window need a blind.

Hedges and pitch boarders messy. I get the wild approach but feel this has just allowed for another job to slip. Could be lovely with maintenance and wild seed replanting.

We did feel a bit tucked in with neighbour's being close.

Finish on a positive.
There was always hand soap and toilet roll available.

For us we would not return. But wish Liz all the best.

We stayed in the cosy shepherd's hut, Liz and Mike are both warm and welcoming, nothing was too much bother. The site in general and facilities are well maintained, the showers and toilets lovely. The hut itself is gorgeous, so nice to have to log burner at night (a fan heater was also supplied in case we didn't fancy the log burner) fridges and freezers, washer and drier, washing up etc, everything has been thought of. Close to some gorgeous beaches and towns, chickens and chicks roaming around on site and Liz was happy for us to have the dog with us. We will definitely be returning here :)

We stayed in 'Kitty' the beautiful, quirky 1960s caravan, and had a really amazing stay. My favourite aspects were being able to watch the chickens and turkeys that have free roam of the area around Kitty, and the firepit outside the caravan. Weather was variable, but we sat under the awning for meals on the occasions that it rained. Lizzie and Mike were so friendly, helpful and accommodating, answering questions about the local area, and they were always friendly, generous and warm-hearted. Kitty was comfortable and really well equipped with kitchen utensils, pots and pans, running water, washing up liquid, a working fridge, electricity and a little heater in case of need. We didn't need an alarm call with cockerels announcing the day, which meant we got the most out of our stay, and they were a joy to observe. The shared shower block and washing up area were clean, well lit and the water was beautifully hot, with plenty of space to hang and place your things.
It's a beautiful part of the world, with so much to see and do.
We will definitely be retuning in the future. Thank you Lizzie and Mike for a lovely stay, it was great to meet you xx

The site looked great online. The reality was very different. Situated in a lovely part of the world, the traffic noise (and yes, we know it’s the only road in and out the lizard) was awful, starting quite early in the morning. When this was combined with the noise of the cockerel(s) every morning, we didn’t need any alarms. We don’t know if it was the turkeys or the chickens that defecated all over our table and cooking area, but we do know it was one or all of them. The pitches were quite tight and the site felt a bit claustrophobic. It also felt quite run down. The toilets and shower blocks all needed a bit of TLC and they were a bit dirty. The taps in the washing up room leaked everywhere and some cheeky devil nicked our freezer blocks. The worst thing was the constant vile smell coming from the sceptic tank. Every time you walked past it to go to the loo or shower it just smelt horrible. We spoke to another camper who said that he had been told the smell was due to ‘muck spreading’ in the local fields. We didn’t see any muck spreading and know the difference between the smell of muck spreading and a sceptic tank. It was definitely a sceptic tank! If the wind was in the wrong direction than it was quite horrible. On the plus side, the campsite is perfect as a central point for visiting the Lizard. The owners are really friendly if a little scatty and everyone seemed to be quite nice and quiet after 10pm. We won’t be staying again as we found a number of much better campsites during our travels around the Lizard so will be staying elsewhere next time.

Very friendly owners who make you feel very welcome to their lovely site.
Nothing is too much trouble. Facilities are clean. Fire pits are welcome.
Traditional camping at its best on a quiet site that encourages wildlife.
Large marked pitches around the edge of the fields, never felt crowded even when full. Some lovely alternative accommodation is also available.
Free range chickens wandering around outside the farmhouse, producing very tasty eggs.
We loved our weeks stay so much, we booked another week for later in the year before we left. We have recommended the site to our friends.

This is a really cosy campsite that caters for all sorts of stays - tents, campervans and self catering. We were testing out our campervan and had a great plot on the end of a row which was very private. Liz is a great host who was very happy to help with any queries and chatted to us about our stay every time we saw her - making sure we were ok.
The bus into the Lizard is a great way of travel if you want to go car free - cheap and easy to catch from the corner of the main road. The campsite is in an excellent position for this to be very convenient.

Hi, we hired a glamping tent at Little Trethvas and although we didn't use it, I'm pretty sure there was a fire pit outside our tent that we could have used if we'd wanted to.
