The Land's End Hotel captivates guests with its picturesque setting, ideal for coastal strolls and sunset admiration, though opinions on value vary with some criticisms over meal and amenity costs. The service generally garners compliments for staff friendliness, despite occasional lapses in efficiency.
Rooms are lauded for their sea views, modernity, and cleanliness, yet some guests note their compact size. While the hotel's cleanliness and amenities are often celebrated, particularly the modern bathrooms, suggestions for improvement focus on the bar service and the restaurant's ambiance.

Detailed Reviews
We stay at the hotel every year on the locals deal at off peak/quiet times. Unfortunately it still seemed rather busy this time, and we found it rather strange that there was no servicing of the rooms during our entire stay (because of covid) which in some ways is ok but also means the provisions in the room are not stocked up either. So you have to request everything from more toilet paper to tea, milk sachets etc. We didn't eat in the evening at the hotel mainly because it was busy and breakfast was quite slow, so chose to go out somewhere quiet.

Right from the initial phone call with Jane who went out her way to give suggestions on rooms to stay in you knew you were in for a real treat of a stay. Kate and her team in the bar/restaurant area including Zoe and the new Trainee (sorry she didn't have a name badge) who were so very warm and friendly made us feel incredibly welcome and couldn't do enough for us. We stayed in room 24 - Captain Bligh, it had just recently been updated. The room was amazing with stunning views out to sea, it had all facilties you would expect but of quality too which gave it an even nicer feel. The only negative we had and the reason 5 stars aren't given is we unfortunately found the quality of the food in the restaurant not at all up to scratch. The menu itself was very inticing so decided to order 3 course. Unfortunately the quality of the food just wasn't there and overall we found it to be very average in taste but reasonably good in presentation. This is an easy fix for the kitchen team so do I hope it's taken onboard. You have a prestigious location in a beautiful hotel with amazing staff, great food is essential to fully encapsulate the guest's experience with you.

The hotel room was not as large as some in this price bracket, however the bed was huge and the room was very clean and the sea view was spectacular. The bathroom in our room was stunning.
The room came with a complimentary cream tea but you cant check in until 3pm and then you find the restaurant is closed from 2 - 4 pm it would have been nice if you could get your cream teas when you checked in. Which brings me onto the restaurant, we had our evening meal at the hotel and I had the burger which was over cooked and very dry the fries were only warm and very limp so not that great. I was not expecting anything great at breakfast following our meal the night before, But hey they must have changed chefs or something breakfast was Great ! both in variety and cooking and to top it off as we ate a pod of dolphins swam past.

We initially booked the hotel for April 2020 but that had to be cancelled because of the pandemic. We booked again for September of that year and cancelled for the same reason. Jane, the Head of Reception was extremely helpful and left it to us to book when we felt safe. At last we had our week there in June 2021 and we cannot fault any part of the hotel. We were welcomed warmly at the Reception desk and our refurbished room overlooking the sea and the lighthouse was lovely. Because of the pandemic our room was not checked daily, which we were aware of, but anything we needed was delivered outside our room promptly. Breakfast was extremely well organised with cereals, yogurts, bowls of fresh fruit, 2 choices of cooked breakfast, fruit juices, delicious pastries with a lot of variety, efficient toaster and coffee or tea. The evening meals were all delicious with plenty of choice and ample portions served with the same efficiency and professionalism. The staff, without exception were superb. Jo, in charge of the dining room went out of her way to make sure the system was working well and was lovely with it. She kept an eye out for her staff and their respect for her was obvious. I cannot name all the members of staff but you were all great and enhanced our lovely holiday in Cornwall.

The hotel is in a great location and has amazing views. The room itself was very comfortable and modern. The ensuite had a bath and a shower so suits everyone's preference. We stayed for a long weekend and took advantage of the food in both the bar and resteraunt. They both have great food but the resteraunts menu was more limited than the bar menu. The room itself had a low window in the bathroom that could benefit with some frosted glass on the top window as being tall getting out of the bath left little to the imagination. The staff were very helpful and very friendly and answered any questions we had. The location is ideal for costal walks and we recommend you bring walking shoes and take the walk to Sennen cove.

Stayed here one night as part of our honeymoon. Paid for a double with sea view but was given a twin with limited view, very overpriced for one night even in the summer. Overcharged for our evening meal and refused a refund, the menu is also very limited but no other restaurants to eat in. The only plus points I can find is the housekeeping team displayed our towels as swans and rose petals on the bed for our arrival.

We were welcomed by one short haired polite receptionist, she and one young chap serving breakfast on 2 mornings, the night porter, were the only pleasant staff. The rest of the staff were aloof and uninterested in you, almost rude at times. A younger receptionist (Mary I think) challenged me how many nights we were staying when I asked for some more bath salts, and just a couple of toiletries. It did say on my email that we could have top ups. Whilst we were having a fairly average cream tea, the staff were loudly socialising in the nearby bar room, one young bar man shouted "Go f#@k yourself," this was at 4pm, children could have been there. So unprofessional
We were horrified to see there was a far more serious issue and have contacted the authorities regarding this.
None of the staff wore masks and were only about a foot apart. One manageress was coughing incessantly (without a mask ) in the breakfast and bar area and tending to food and setting tables. A chamber maid in the next room to us was also coughing uncontrollably, with a very chesty cough. A possible manager was talking about a member of staff who had been coughing non stop the day before and was now off sick, and yet this lady manager was there also coughing incessantly. Social distancing and mask wearing is non existent.
We were so concerned we cancelled our evening meal there.
There was absolutely no ventilation in any of the public areas and was stuffy. This is against all covid advise.
Staff were discussing previous and current guests very openly and rudely.
The breakfasts were not consistent. We did have one good breakfast, one average breakfast and the last one I couldn't even get my fork into the solid cardboard sausage and hogs pudding, obviously twice cooked, I could have bounced the fried egg on the floor.
We were the last people down, there were no more people to eat and breakfasts had finished. Our breakfasts were nigh on inedible but when we left we noticed the stocks had been replenished with fresh food looking very well cooked when it was the staff were helping themselves to breakfasts.
Our superior sea view room did have a view of the sea in the distance over the rooves and buildings of the hotel and was quite small really.
We were so looking forward to this stay, fortunately the weather was kind to us and we had some lovely walks, but the hotel not so good.

If I could give this no stars I would have. From my initial phones calls where I left messages that still haven't been returned some 6 weeks later. The staff including the management have little to no customer skills. Paid for a deluxe superior sea view room could barely see the sea because of scaffolding. Can't get room service after 8.30pm. Same menu every day, food cold and sent back not just by us. In times of COVID although signs up noone bothers with masks which was very concerning to me on health grounds nor is anyone challenged. When I asked they said members of staff had been abused for asking. Management should have stepped in instead just choose to ignore. Building work going on which we were not informed of. All in all lack of customer service and a culture of its not my problem. Would I recommend a very firm NO. Would I go back NO. Overpriced. Save your money and pay £7 for parking and stay elsewhere

We booked a two night stay and was not disappointed. It’s the location that is the hotels greatest asset, we had a sea view which was beautiful worth paying a bit extra, the bathroom was fantastic with excellent low lighting which made your bath even more relaxing. The room was a little on the small side but this is minor quibble.
Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay and we ate in the hotel restaurant pre booked, the first night which was excellent, I thought the restaurant was reasonably priced for our location. We had pre booked a breakfast slot due to COVID regulations, the continental was good, didn’t have cooked breakfast as time was tight with pre booked attractions. The price of the rooms can be a little on the high side but definitely worth it for the location and let’s be honest your only choice if you want to stay in a hotel. With easy walking access to all Lands End natural attractions including costal walk, Senna Bay Beach and of course Lands End in continual view weather permitting.

Just returned after a weeks stay having booked through Booking.com back in January, no deposit - pay at hotel. Perfect. So we thought!
On arrival, receptionists demanded we pay there and then the full cost of the stay. The paperwork we received from Booking.com did not say to pay on arrival, in fact is was highlighted saying 'You'll pay when you stay at the Lands End Hotel'. After challenging this and after some discussion, the senior receptionist agreed we could pay on departure. The following day whilst out in the car, we received a phone call from the third receptionist demanding we pay immediately or vacate the room. We then stopped on our travels to return to the hotel to deal with the issue and we were confronted with the 3rd receptionist presenting the card machine demanding we pay there and then or vacate even though it was agreed the day before we could pay when we leave. .
This we declined and we asked the 3rd receptionist her position in the company to which she replied 'receptionist' so we requested to see the Manager in private to discuss the latter.
We agreed under duress to compromise to pay half the outstanding balance immediately and the remainder on leaving.
In addition to this there were a number of other issues which were of concern.
1 We were informed the restaurant would not be open on Sunday and Monday evening due to lack of staff. This we subsequently discovered was due to a gas line fault which was repaired on Monday afternoon having spoken personally tos the maintenance engineer.
2 There were no lifts for luggage to rooms
3 The cost of food in the restaurant was excessive
4 The bar menu which was advertised in the bar and on our key card wallet says it is served between 12 noon and 8.45. When we asked about it, we were told they hadn't done bar food for over two years. The next day, the same member of staff told me it was not available due to staff shortage.
5 The reception was only open between 8am and 8pm.
6 The provision of towels and sundries was extremely hit and miss and toilet rolls were provided by reception. Make sure you have enough toilet rolls before 8pm!
7 No alternative food was available after 4pm as the concessions on the site all appeared to close then.
8 The wearing of masks by the staff was poorly managed and controlled and in most cases the bar and restaurant staff wore them under their chin and not over their mouth and nose.
9 The provision of furniture in the corridors and rooms seemed to have been thrown together with gay abandon (not matching). The bed was lumpy and too short.
10 The hotel reports to be an AA 3* but in our opinion it should be no more that a 2* having stayed in many hotels across the UK which were 3*.
11 During the whole 7 days we were made to feel uncomfortable except by a couple of staff who served breakfast in the mornings.
12 On the Sunday and Monday evening we were invited to cook our own food in the hotels microwave and use the restaurant area for eating. This is the first time ever we have resorted to having cooked our own meal in a hotel.
Finally, we would not recommend this hotel for more than one or two nights stay and would recommend moving up more centrally to explore more of Cornwall.

You do know the hotel
Don’t answer these questions it’s other guests who’ve stayed.
Honestly I didn’t see anywhere but that’s not to say they haven’t got it so I’d Email the hotel. You would be well advised to have a lock up as hundreds if not thousands walk through the hotel grounds everyday.
Sadly we weren’t impressed with the food. It was ‘ok’ but not worth the money. £18 for fish and chips. I had the burger which was £15 and it was dry and the onion rings greasy. Take £5 off the cost of each dish and it would have been more acceptable. Unfortunately if you stay at the hotel you have limited choice unless you drive to Sennen cove where there is more choice. The tables and chairs are plastic so in my opinion they shouldn’t be charging top prices for food. The hotel location is stunning though so if you can I’d find somewhere else to eat your evening meal. Hope this helps!
Yes renovations still ongoing
Yes, there are a number of dog rooms available for majority of the year. Dogs are also welcome in the Bar, however not in the restaurant.
The whole hotel now benefits from free WiFi throughout, including in the bedrooms. There is plenty of parking which is free for guests outside the hotel. For the best views I would recommend one of the Superior rooms on the 2nd floor, either 24, 26 or 28.
