This a beautiful old house made of originally adobe bricks and completely renewed with lots of good taste. The rooms are cosy and comfortable, the bathrooms also..

The staff are good people ready to help, but because the management is so bad, they can't do much. When we arrived, the price seemed too high. As we asked for the a reduction of the price they gave us a lower price, not to be honoured at the end of our stay.

There is a restaurant, a beautiful room which serves only to the guests. But, what a pity !. Even if the staff were trying to do their best, the bad management and organisation meant that there were only available a few things from the menu, for instance only steak for one, or " milanesa" , for one.

There is absolutely need to have there a new management to match the beauty of the place.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cultural and architectural heritage The house, built in 1928 with adobe and rammed earth, is an example of typical Cuyo rural architecture. It was the first dwelling in Barreal and bore the name "Los Andes". At the time, it belonged to Mr. Adán Araya and his wife, Adila. The current owners of the large house, which had been neglected for several years, bought it in 2007. They immediately began work to recycle, restore and consolidate the existing structure and to build bathrooms. Thus, it became a model of local Cuyo architectural conservation. It is an Ecolodge because we seek to minimize the environmental impact of our activity by reducing, reusing and recycling. ... more   less
