I had such an amazing stay here!! This is an incredible bnb. It's more like visiting an old family friend (not that I know anyone in such an amazing house- I wish!), but Ann and Tim treat you like a true guest, and make you incredibly welcome in their home. I was greeted with tea and a brownie and had...

Away from the madding crowd of the Lake District is this gem. Great welcome by our hosts, up the grand stairs to a sumptuous room with an ensuite twice the size of my family bathroom at home. Splendid friendly breakfast in the morning. Good pub food nearby for supper too.

We recently had the pleasure of spending time at The Old Rectory. We were greeted by Anne and Tim & Dily's the dog and welcomed into their wonderful home. Nothing was too much trouble for them - they were friendly, funny and helpful. The house is full of interesting art and the hosts have a wealth of information regarding the...

From the moment we pulled into the driveway we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes. Dilys, possibly the friendliest Black Lab I've ever met (!), came bounding over, ball in mouth, ready for a stroke and a cuddle. She was soon followed by Anne and Tim, our hosts, full of smiles and offers of a cup of tea. We...

We arrived wet and cold after a 21 mile walk in the rain, however the welcome we received made it well worth the effort. I don't think the photos do this home justice as it really is the most comfortable B&B/Hotel I have ever stayed in. The local knowledge of the hosts Tim and Anne added enormously to our appreciation...

We spent a night at The Old Rectory and enjoyed every minute. We were welcomed with hot drinks in the kitchen and left in the morning after a tasty breakfast. The room was large and inviting and the bed was warm and comfy. Caldbeck is a great start point for exploring the whole of the Lake District and has a...

We stayed here for one night after completing the Cumbria Way in October. It was a perfect end to our holiday and will live long in the memory. Our host couldn't have been more helpful and was very knowledgeable about the local area. The house is full of character with spacious, comfortable bedrooms. The breakfast couldn't be faulted, setting us...

Three days and two nights here as a base for walking in the Northern Lake District. Our hots were delightful and offered every and any assistance, including dropping us off to enable us to complete walks which other wise would have been impossible. It is a lovely old house but with all of the amenities we could possibly have needed,...

I'm not going to write a long review of this place because it has all been said before. From the initial welcome, to the conversation, to the room it was all perfect. The icing on the cake for us was a side gate onto the Cumbria Way saving a good 100m walking! Great place.

We stayed at the old rectory for one evening and we only have extremely positive things to say! We enjoyed a warm welcome upon arrival and were shown to our beautiful room. The house itself is stunning and the owners could not do enough for us. Clean, roomy and one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in....
