Peaceful, rural location with great views of the fells. An ideal position for the Pennine Way and Teesdale Ways, as well as many day walks - including High Cup Nick amongst others. Recommended in The Good Beer Guide as well as being a Cask Marque pub, quality real ales are always available. Good home cooking and a warm comfortable welcome should all help you have a fantastic visit to this beautiful part of the world.

We could only stop for a pint after a walk to Cauldron Snout, butwe wer able to work out very quickly that this was a place we will be going back to again. The beer was very well looked after, especially difficult to do after covid restrictions, the view was how you'd imagine a view from heaven, even the food from the socially-distanced table next to us smelled delicious, the landlord was not only welcoming but clearly an interesting character, the decor is completely unspoiled ... we're coming back.

We had meant to walk to Dufton but heavy rain and gales meant we doubled back to Langdon Beck And found this secluded hotel. We booked a room on the spot and had fantastic hot food. We both loved the felafel burger and they cooked the best chips!! Really friendly and helpful staff here... Sue, the landlady, helped us get a cab the next day as the weather was still horrendous! Wonderful veggie breakfast too....Had a peaceful night’s sleep and it was a great place to dry out by the open fire.

During this Covid Crazy period, trying to find places which are open and have space is difficult..... However we were very lucky to get into The Langdon Beck Hotel after a wet walk around High Force Falls. Very friendly welcome, sat in the bar next to the log fire with our dog. Freshly made excellent food, served quickly and well priced. Keep up the great work during these very challenging times....

The food was good here and the views excellent. But beware of a barman who goes by the name of "Dave" he has a lot of stories to spin is scruffy in appearance and is very lackadaisical about his job.We had a wonderful days shooting, i was entertaining clients and felt quite embarrassed by the experience!
