We arrived here on our long distance walk through the surrounding countryside. The Wolds Retreat itself is in a beautiful area surrounded by rolling countryside. The B&B accommodation provided was a real let down. The service we received was muddled and unorganised at best. The check in staff were non existent. The room we had was basic at best. We...

Came here with my son and girlfriend, had a wonderfully good time. Brilliant walk around the grounds, a picnic by the lake and walked round the lake. Ducks and other wildlife. Smashing day, had tea and cakes at the World Peace Cafe. Good service and nice food, all the staff are friendly. Would like to go again.

Quirky and wonderful this unique B and B is for the open spirited and those who want something different. The main building is a Georgian mansion set in gorgeous countryside housing a Buddhist temple and tearoom serving scrumptious veggie fare and cake! It's awesome with a walled garden a lake and woodland to roam round. The rooms were scrupulously clean and...

A beautiful place - really peaceful and friendly. Great base for our weekend cycling in the Yorkshire Wolds (which have some lovely hidden corners.) But also lovely just to hang out, relax, and soak up the peace.

It is beautiful there! We stayed for 1 night to go to a Sunday Out the next day. The grounds are stunning and there is lots tho do and see. All of the volunteers work exceptionally hard to make it an amazing place to stay.

As long as you are prepared, this is a great place to stay. We stayed in a twin ensuite room, which was very well prepared, but .................... there was no window so we had to leave the door open all night to get some air (it was a ground floor room), the toilet seat was broken, and the kettle only...

Spent two nights whist visiting Pocklington. Beautiful place to stay - both the grounds and the house. Accommodation was very nice & clean. Staff very friendly. Wireless and cell phone signal was very limited - but not a big deal for us. Breakfast was basic cereal, juice & toast - but perfectly OK. Liked the fact that we could roam...

We were walking the Yorkshire Wolds Way - the Retreat was very peaceful and had a great atmosphere. The room was delightful, the bed was comfortable and it was good to have a bath. The only downsides for walkers were the lack of facilities to dry a tee shirt after washing it, the paucity of breakfast (cereals and bread only...

The wolds retreat bed and breakfast provided a cosy, comfortable, quiet stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating, all volunteers. The room was clean and comfortable, a heater was provided which heated the room well. We stayed in the "Elm" room located at the back of the house. Breakfast was brilliant for a vegetarian, as monks they did not provide...
