Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After a days walking in the rain on the first leg of Offas Dyke we were in need of good value sustenance which is exactly what we got. The staff were super friendly and the lamb chops were excellent. Nothing much to find fault with.

Having walked from Chepstow to Monmouth on the Wye Valley Trail, we were pretty hungry and ready for a drink. As we set off a little later than intended, we subsequently arrived late. They were just finishing food an unlike many places that would have turned us away they switch the ovens back on and provided us with a stunning pie & chips. Can't fault them and were very happy and up beat. We greatly appreciated the extra effort. Full marks for hospitality and would highly recommend to anyone

Spent a week in Redbrook in the midst of a heat wave and visited the Bell every day. Always a friendly welcome especially for dog Lucy and a good choice of Ales and Ciders. I didn't get round to eating but the food seemed popular and reasonably priced and I shall certainly be returning to sample it. Fish and chip van calls on a Monday and various band occasionally appear for a musical evening

Lisa & Rob were absolutely wonderful, such a great reception from 2 lovely people. We just had a basic burger, but it was meaty, and great fries n salad, a million miles away from the Wetherspoons, 4 miles up the road, but for a few quid more (per person) it was oh so much better. Even got a hug when leaving. Such a wonderful experience!

We came here for some food and a few drinks whilst having a week away from the city. The food itself is perfect, the staff were very kind and helpful, the locals were super kind and their dogs may have claimed me as their own. If I could give more than five stars, I would give 47 stars

This pub does an amazing Sunday roast for a very reasonable price. Lean and tender meat great roast potatoes, 5 or 6 different veg and all the trimmings. One of the best roasts I have ever had and friendly staff too. Highly recommend.

A real locals pub, in September almost October, so time for some banter whilst we enjoyed the good selection of beers.
We also ate here, very acceptable steak and ale pie.
On Monday there’s the fish and chip van with some of the best fish and especially the chips we’ve had for a long time. And then the chef produced an accordion and entertained us !

Perhaps needs a bit of an update, but we stopped here after a full days walking on the Wye Valley Walk, the landlord and all the staff were warm and welcoming, and the food was exceptionally tasty and good quality pub grub, especially the chicken, bacon and leek pie. Some great old fashioned puds too. Good value!!

You know that wonderful Sunday, mid afternoon family pub vibe, live music, good beer, fab company... well I will never head to this little local again!
My husband was actually playing in the band, we arrived at 3:30, with our 2 daughters, were meeting at least 5 further families, the afternoon was looking fab. I miraculously landed a table, organised one child with drawing stuff, and was busily settling my 3 year old, who was sat on my lap, upset, facing toward me, when I was told by the landlord to take her outside as she was upsetting the locals.
We had been there a maximum of 7 minutes, in what’s advertised as a friendly family inn, to watch Dad play, about to be joined by a large group of friends and potential customers.

If you’re looking for fun times, avoid this place at all costs!

A friend of mine was staying close by and I wanted to visit him but needed accommodation for a night. The Bell wasn't actually doing accommodation at the time, but Nick went above and beyond to fix me up. And at an extremely good price. The atmosphere in the pub was lovely, with not just all the staff, but the regulars all being really friendly and welcoming!
