At Auvergne Naturelle, we offer a unique holiday experience in the undiscovered Auvergne region of France. Our luxury yurt accommodation provides the opportunity to sleep under canvas but with all the comforts of a hotel room. Surrounded by woodland and beautiful scenery, it is a perfect holiday for those who want to get back to nature in an area of France which is unspoilt and peaceful. Whether you want a relaxing holiday or something a bit more active, there are lots of opportunities for you to make your holiday your own. Relax by your yurt and enjoy the peace and tranquility, take a paddle in the river or a stroll to the nearby village. We also offer bushcraft courses which are a fabulous way to learn about the surrounding natural environment - perhaps learn how to make a fire or whittle away making a spoon!

The house was comfortable and included a lot of small things that make it stand out against other available rentals in the area! The cozy fireplace, modern kitchen, comfortable beds, and amazing bathroom elevated the experience, plus the outdoor Nordic hot tub! You can't beat having a hot tub heated by a crackling fire right next to you! The hosts, Kathryn and Rob, made the stay 5+ ⭐'s, and were there to help whenever needed! They were the best hosts! Highly recommended!!! Oh yeah, and the brownies from Kathryn! Yum!

Thank you for the great review! We are so glad you had a lovely stay, despite being snowed in for two days! It was a pleasure to meet you both and enjoyed our chats and aperitif! We hope to see you again in the future. Best wishes, Kathryn & Rob.

We had a lovely 5 night stay here as 2 families in 2 yurts. Our stay was truly memorable. The night sky was amazing with stars so clear I felt I could reach out and touch them. I’ve never experienced anything like that before and forgot to mention it to our hosts! The yurt was brilliant. It had a really lovely bed with an extremely comfortable mattress. I don’t think I have ever slept this well on holiday with such quiet peace and tranquility. Rob and Kathryn and their kids really looked after everyone. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the great breakfasts and also felt our evening meals were amazing and really good value for money. We loved our stay here and would not hesitate to recommend.

We spent 6 days and loved every minute. The hosts Rob and Katherine and their girls do an AMAZING job of keeping the estate cost, welcoming and spotless. The yurts are large with plenty of space for the 4 of us. The individual kitchen stall, toilet and shower room per yurt were clean and odorless and truly top line. . Our children (10 yrs) loved the bushcraft activities including making a bow and arrow, identifying animals in the wild ...and the evening bonfires. Multiple considerations have been implemented to make the space safe in corona times. Breakfast was fresh and yummy. We will definitely come back!!

This summer my daughters and I returned to Auvergne Naturelle for our second family holiday on the site. The warm welcome and the beautifully organised and decorated yurts and barn made our arrival feel very special, while the ongoing and carefully judged hospitality of Rob and Kathryn, especially their excellent cooking and the daily organisation of any bread and pastries we needed, meant the whole holiday was an absolute pleasure and just so, so easy! This is a very special place – the perfect ‘Goldilocks’ campsite where there is plenty of space for everyone in the beautifully landscaped wooded gardens: all yurts allow privacy and space for family relaxation but, at the same time, the kids can always find someone to play with and something to do. Daisy and Olive organised games for our gang of kids every night after they’d finished roasting their marshmallows around the communal campfire and they all tore shriekingly around the campsite, the valley echoing with their shouts and laughter until they were all ready to collapse into sleep. The river at the bottom of the site is perfectly wadable and, as the days warmed up, became the perfect place to cool down, especially when Rob led one of his bushcraft sessions on tracking and trapping animals around the site and up the river. Another bushcraft session had the kids making bows and arrows or whittling spoons – a project that took up all the spare moments of our week. While the local area is beautiful and the folders in your yurts and the beautifully curated display in the barn give you lots of ideas for what to do, we could have quite happily just spent a whole week enjoying the walks around the site (especially the one with the donkey), wading through the river, relaxing with our books and with the kids enjoying the tree swings. A final mention should be made for the most beautiful camp site showers ever. The showers are situated half way down the slope of the campsite and are beautifully constructed, down to an artfully removed plank of wood which means that you shower with a full view across the rooftop of the barn and the slopes of the valley. For memories that will last forever and a really luxurious but authentically natural family holiday – this really is the perfect place. After a week, it was too early to leave but we know that we’ll be back!…

What a great find this place was, a real gem. Rob and Kathryn are really lovely and excellent hosts, (their girls are pretty cool too). The site was perfect, from the really beautiful yurts and comfy beds, to the fantastic hot shower with the amazing view, the location was superb really tucked out the way however plenty to do on your door step if you wish to venture from the site. The facilities in the communal barn were all you need, clean and functional and a lovely space to spend time in. Everything has been catered for to make your stay as comfortable and pleasurable as can be. Do take up the offer of having supper cooked for you by kathryn it was delicious and a real treat. Rob offers activities too, which i can imagine are very good. They are both so helpful and made our visit all the more special. We were touring france and hence only managed to stay 3 nights (wish it could have been more) but we are looking and planning to go back next year as we wish to explore more of this part france and this is a perfect site to do it from.…

I stayed with my two children on the way back from the South Of France. Rob and Kathryn made us feel very welcome, the facilities are great, the Yurts are fantastic and the location is brilliant. My kids are teenagers, so not easy to impress, but they were totally up for a return visit. I really enjoyed barbecuing our dinner while they found wood for the fire and then we had a nice time sat round the campfire. The beds are very comfy and warm. Breakfast is a joy and the view out of the showers as the sun rose over the mountains was fabulous. Definitely on the list of places to return to.

Reasons to go there: 1. You can easily get 5 people in a Yurt! 2. You're surrounded by people staying for at least 3 days an usually (though not exclusively) with kids. It is impossible not to get along. 3. The kids love it. Near total independence as there is no road traffic, loads of things to play with and the bush craft sessions are fun for kids and parents alike. 4. The area is really french. Loads of outdoor activities, tiny villages or, if you choose, nothing. 5. The owners and their kids are welcoming, interesting, helpful and seemingly getting as much out of the experience as you are.

Auvergne Naturelle has been hands-down our best family holiday to date and we're already planning our return! Our kids (3 & 6) could not have had more fun running around the site, playing with new friends and learning bushcraft. (Having come back they actually seem more confident, more capable!). The Auvergne region is gorgeous, we're keen to explore more on our next trip and there's certainly no shortage of things to see and do in the area. It's telling then that on at least three days we didn't even leave Auvergne Naturelle! Between kids bushcraft, whittling spoons, running around like loons, paddling in the river and just enjoying the atmosphere we couldn't quite pull ourselves away. This place is a hidden gem. Highly, highly recommended - thank you Rob, Kath and the kids, we look forward to seeing you again soon.…

This was our second visit to Auvergne Naturelle having previously visited in 2016 and it won't be our last. Rob and Kathryn have created a little bit of paradise in the beautiful hills of the Auvergne and it is the perfect place to spend a week doing very little. The bushcraft courses are fantastic for children and adults alike and I am now the proud owner of two wooden spoons that I have made from scratch. The site is set on a steep hillside crisscrossed with pathways to provide the ultimate adventure playground and Rob and Kathryn's daughters are always on hand to join in the fun and games. There is a river just across the road (a road which sees virtually no traffic) which is great for paddling in if you need to cool off. If there is only so much relaxing you can do then the area is fantastic for road biking as the roads are so quiet and there are some good climbs to challenge yourself on. If you are willing to grab a map and follow your nose there is some great mountain biking/trail running which given the terrain (its all up or down, never flat!) can be pretty challenging. Breakfast is provided every morning with fresh coffee, fruit, croissants, cereal and bread and there is always more than you can eat. Three times a week Kathryn provides delicious, home cooked, two course meals with ample wine which are excellent value for money so we always opt to have these. When you want to cook the facilities are spot on and each yurt has its own kitchen space in the barn. I could write a book on how much we love this place but really you should book yourself a holiday and go and find out for yourself. Rob, Kathryn, Daisy and Olive are the perfect hosts. They have thought of everything when creating Auvergne Naturelle and their passion for what they are doing shows through in every aspect of the holiday.…

My daughter didn't want to leave our yurt, and said that it was "paradise". We stayed at Auvergne Naturelle for two nights to spend some quality time together. I was expecting semi-camping. In fact it was incredibly comfortable (my bed more so than most hotel beds) and luxurious (we had our own shower with an incredible view, and a very pretty composting loo to ourselves). The communal barn was warm in feel, with everything that you could possibly need to self-cater, and in fact Kathryn catered one of our evening meals (it was delicious and very good value for money). There were plenty of games and activities on site for my daughter, and we could buy essential supplies. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. We both loved Rob's bushcraft course. And we both vowed to come back.
