My wife and I stayed in a standard double room to visit family for the weekend just 5 days after the Crown’s reopening. A very comfortable and clean room with the friendly staff doing their utmost to ensure as near as normal experience as possible.

The location in a quiet lane overlooking the historical “Cockpit” part of the Common made for an undisturbed night’s sleep followed by a very tasty full English breakfast.

I hope when better times return that the public areas of this quaint old pub get the attention they require to return them to former glory but this didn’t really detract from an enjoyable weekend stay. Would definitely return.

We arrived 19.45 last Sunday evening without having booked a room. The kitchen closed at 20.00 hours. They could not have been more accommodating ushering into the dining room to order and telling us not to worry about booking in for accommodation until after we had eaten. They apologised they only had a twin bedded room available but the room was spacious and very comfortable. We were served a good breakfast the next day with plenty of choices. An enjoyable stay and excellent service from the staff on the Sunday evening.

We stayed at the Crown for two nights when attending an event at Brands Hatch which is an easy 20 min drive away.
The room was comfortable and in good condition. The inn is set in a leafy residential area and is very quiet.
The food at dinner and breakfast was very good with attentive staff who were very efficient, a lot of them having worked there for many years. We would particularly mention the acting manager, Liam, and Theresa who served us at breakfast.
we would have no hesitation in staying at the inn again if we were coming to Chislehurst again.

Clearly someone has invested in this place, rooms are large and furnished to a height standard, en-suite was great with excellent water pressure. For the price given the area very good.
Evening meal overall good, service slow and confused drinks arrived long after starters. Fish platter which should have had half a pint of shelled prawns we got 6 small shrimp in shells cover in sauce, so no way of eating them.
Very slow took around 3 hours in total.
Morning woken up really early by loud music being played downstairs by staff!
Breakfast was a disaster, no cereal no buffet, no juice, no fruit, no pastries. Waits 45 minutes to get cold food, solid poached eggs. Porridge like concrete. Cold and congealed, no honey maple syrup instead. A few blueberries no fruit compote, no granola or pumpkin seeds.
Complained as we had to leave all of it no real apology one lady said sorry the older one stood shaking her head.
I run a guest house for over 20 years and expect a better than this.
Staff need training.

We spent last Saturday afternoon at the Crown. This was my first time going anywhere other than the supermarket since lockdown began, so I was looking forward to it, but also filled with some trepidation. I needed have worried. There are booths inside the pub and plenty of space between the tables in the garden. The personable landlord and staff made us feel very comfortable. Social distancing measures were in place and being well adhered to. They were professional and friendly and were quick to serve us when we needed it.

The Vegan Satay burger was very good. My friend had the Cheddar Cheese and Bacon burger and said it was "the best ****ing burger" that he has ever eaten. That's high praise, considering that he is a chef. The onion rings were also delicious.

The other customers there were also friendly and chatted to us, from the safety of their own tables, which was nice and gave us the sense of normality that we have craved for so many months.

The next time I am in the area I will book a room there.

popped in on the way home from golf for a quick drink and bite to eat with my wife and 4 year old son. I paid for the kids meal deal up front which included desert. My son who sufferers with terrible anxiety and shyness - had finished all his dinner and decided he was ready for desert. Me and my wife encouraged him go and tell the barman he had finished all his dinner and was ready for his ice cream. After 10 minutes of practising what he would say, he finally plucked up the courage and he stood patiently waiting to ask...... but he was then barked at by the barman to get away from the bar!!!
Supposedly it’s illegal for a child to approach a bar and say he is ready for his desert (which was already paid for).
I won’t be back ever again, and judging by how busy it is on a Friday night, they can’t afford to be losing customers

Been coming here for years and the staff, especially Nikki and Iris are always welcoming and friendly. It’s also a welcoming environment for children and an added bonus, it allows well behaved dogs! The pub also has a good sized restaurant area with a large function room for all occasions. The Crown is opposite a woodland and huge grass common area, you’d think you were in the depths of the countryside. Highly recommended.

I have just stayed here for one night on my own for business and I have had a very nice stay. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful and the room was beautiful, comfortable and pristine. It has been very hot weather, but there was a stand up fan ready in my room to make it comfortable without even having to ask. Breakfast was included, and it was very tasty and there was a vegan option which I was very impressed with because that is somewhat rare with hotel breakfasts. Very lovely location with quiet surroundings. This is a very quaint and lovely place to stay, and very good value for money. Thank you for your hospitality!

Nice pub/hotel except that the mattresses are so soft that you cannot actually sleep. Your back ends up twisted into a U shape which makes any sleep position very uncomfortable. So we stripped the bed and slept on the floor ! Far more comfortable...Previously stayed in room 1 which was just about ok. Mattresses in rooms 5&6 are shockingly bad which is a shame as otherwise the rooms are very nice. There are only 7 rooms and I guess they are all the same so I will not go back unless I know the mattresses have been replaced with proper firm ones.
Avoid staying here or pre-book with your physio ....( and we are both youngish and fit by the way!)

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Inn. Our room was spacious and neat, the beds very comfortable and tidy. On street parking in front of the hotel along the village green was ample, though the street gets busy during school session on weekdays. The breakfast choices included traditional cooked English breakfast as well as cereals, yogurt and fruit. Teresa did an excellent job of serving us with a smile during our stay and making sure that all of the guests felt welcome. If we return to the area, we would gladly choose the Crown again.
