Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This little hotel is fabulous, the staff were excelent, friendly and helpful from checking in, serving us with our evening meal to check out. We stayed in Room 5, although very small, it had everything we needed. There were lovely thick, very large towels available, nice body wash and cream along with bottled water. Just missing for me was a long mirror and just one comment - the bathroom had obviously been refurbished to a very high standard with a lovely powerful shower, unfortunately mould around the edges has just started to creep in - a quick squrt with a specialist solution will sort this out I am sure. The breakfast, cooked to order at an agreed time with ourselves was excelent, the produce was of good quality and cooked to perfection. We ate in the restuarant at night, it was a little pricey for what was effectively bar food, we had to wait for a long time as the pub itself was rammed - however when it did come it was again lovely. I think residents would benefit from the option of a set meal where they could if they wanted have two or three courses at a resonable price.

Response from Pub Service Desk, Owner at Silverdale Hotel
Responded 2 weeks ago
Hi Emma, thank you for your feedback regarding your stay with us. We will be sure to pass your feedback on to the relevant teams. It's great that you appreciated the high standard of the refurbished bathroom and the amenities provided. Your feedback about the small issues, such as the lack of a long mirror and the mold in the bathroom, is valuable for the hotel management to address and improve upon. Your suggestion of offering residents a set meal option at a reasonable price is a thoughtful idea. We will take this feedback onboard. We hope you will come visit us again From all the Team at The Silverdale Hotel.

I reserved a room in the Silverdale Hotel this weekend and was utterly shocked when they had no booking in my name!! I showed them my email confirming the booking and somehow I had booked in for the same dates next year!!! Stupidboy!! They were quite happy to prepare a room for me even tho it was only for one night. The food was excellent in the evening, I had the Peppered beef pie and chips. Probably the best pie I have ever had outside of one of my own, and the chips were perfectly crisp after being cooked in beef dripping the way chips should be. Had a couple of pints that were near perfect too. The room was clean and comfortable, with a selection of biscuits and coffee at my disposal. Breakfast next day was a perfect full english. . I couldn't fault this hotel and the staff if I tried 10/10 . Well done The Silverdale. I'll be looking to stay there again for a quiet break soon.

We visited the Silverdale Hotel on Wed 6/9/23, arriving around 18:15 expecting to be able to order food. There were a few people in the bar area (around 6) but we were told that they were unable to serve food as the kitchen was at full capacity. All I can think is that more kitchen staff are needed, seems ridiculous to have so much space for diners and not be able to accommodate them. Whilst I wouldn’t rule out going again it wouldn’t be my first choice

We had a fantastic weekend here celebrating a 70th birthday for my mum with all our Family. Caroline and the team were so welcoming and helped us make the weekend special, adapting for the various needs of a large group including children and a dog. Silverdale is beautiful and staying in this great family run hotel was ideal. Food was excellent and really well organized to make sure we had all we needed alongside the many other diners in this popular spot. Thank you, we hope to visit again!

Just back from a fabulous weekend stay at the Silverdale Hotel. This was a continuation of my July 60th Birthday celebrations and truly couldn't have chosen a better place for the 9 of us plus 2 dogs to stay at. Beautiful location, delicious food amazing owners and team, nothing too much trouble and full of great local information. Special shout out to Shelley who was an absolute gem! Hopefully it won't be too long before a return trip.

Wonderful stay. Food lovely, quality produce. Beds and rooms great - spacious and comfy. Very clean. It's a bit old fashioned but in my view that ups the charm. Standout feature is the friendly and welcoming staff. Thanks for a great stay.

Restaurant meal out with my wife. Fish n chips ok. But both my starter and main course promised pickled salad. Found a few slivers of pickled cabbage. Both goats cheese starter and falafel main course really bulked out with way too much lettuce. Felt short changed.

Super two night stay at this lovely hotel. We had a large room with a sea view. The breakfasts were excellent. We ate in both evenings and enjoyed our meals very much. All of the staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. We can highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for our couples coast to coast trip. We got a warm welcome on arrival and all the staff were very friendly It’s .drinks garden is lovely and the hotels in a lovely location. We walked to Silver dale beach to watch the sunset while stopping here. We also did the Arnside Knott walk which rewarded us with a beautiful view of the Lake District fells. Great views worth the hike!. We finished our trip off by joining the lovely locals for a fun quiz night. Great entertainment. Thanks for a wonderful few day’s and would definitely recommend.
