When you read the brochure it sounds great Riverside cottage. But The brochure does not do it justice, I have stayed at a lot of cottages but Riverside was the best by a mile. The cottage itself is fantastic with everything you could need and then more. Can you imagine opening your bed room door to hear the babbling little river, every morning I sat on the patio next to the river to have breakfast. Tranquil, idyllic, peaceful there are just not enough words to describe it. There is also plenty to do if you wish or if like me your mobility is not good, then just to spend time in the sun, listening to the river and the birds, and don't forget the sheep. Every thing you read in the brochure is true, (but better) I cannot recommend this cottage enough and will most definitely be back next year, hopefully for longer. If this is your type of holiday you could not possibly find any where better honest

We had an absolutely fantastic time while staying at Swansea Valley Holiday Cottages. we stayed in Ty-Gambo and the overall property and facilities surpassed our expectations. The farm is nicely secluded in a very peaceful setting, but also not too far away from local amenities. The visitor guide book inside the property was absolutely incredible with so many useful pieces of information on what to do locally and where to explore. It made us realise that we will definitely have to come back again to see much more as we only got to visit a fraction of what was contained within. Richard, our host was extremely helpful and whilst we missed his call on arrival he did check in to make sure everything was ok and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit for a few days during the February half term.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Well equipped with everything you need even Netflix if u fancy a night in by the log fire. We will definitely be staying here again but will be booking through website and not booking.com reason being is that I booked somewhere so I could take my dog and after booking it said the cottage I had booked didn't allow dogs.

We felt so relaxed from the moment we arrived on the farm. A really special place alongside the babbling brook. The cottage is sympathetically converted with many original features and a lovely little terrace and garden. The owners have clearly put their hearts and souls into the properties. The location is good for exploring the area although there are lots of places to walk locally too.

All 3 cottages were extremely well equipped, with every possible requirement thought of and provided for. We have always preferred self-catering and this was by far the best place we have stayed at. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful and the information pack incredibly comprehensive, with suggestions to suit everyone and all eventualities, including bad weather. The setting is idyllic and perfect for adults to relax, as well as for the children to explore and enjoy the surrounding countryside. Plus, there are plenty of places of interest to visit in the area. What a find!

We rented the Manor House for a family staycation at the end of August. We were 8 adults and 5 children, and loved it so much, we can’t wait to go back next summer! The location and grounds are breathtaking, the house is impressive with grand staircases, and well spread out to accommodate a large group. The pool was such a bonus, and we made the most of it - an absolute god send as the weather was very hit and miss. The kitchen is stunning, and although the aga took some getting used to, it was a lovely touch and we soon got the hang of it. The house has access to huge grounds, so we thoroughly enjoyed watching the sheep and cows in the morning, and loved our farm trail walk as well. There’s a very cute bridge and stream running close to the Manor House as well. Richard was very responsive, and always on hand in the run up to our stay, as well as while we were there. Only small comment I’d make is that the property could benefit from one more communal space - they have a lovely sitting room, and dining table in the kitchen, but if we were a larger group, we might have struggled without another reception room. I know they’re renovating and doing up the property over the coming months, so any small niggles will be fixed I’m sure! Overall an absolute pleasure. Would definitely recommend 🙂

This is a review for Yr Hen Ysgol, which is a two bedroom cottage tucked away in the grounds of the Plas Cilybebyll Manor House and separate from the other holiday cottages around the courtyard. It shares the large lawn, ponds and gardens of the Manor House and as the main house is currently empty and undergoing renovation you have all these grounds to yourself at the moment. It is situated alongside the picturesque River Clydach which you can hear when you have the windows open. Formerly the estate Sunday school it is a solid stone building with a large kitchen, toilet room, relaxing lounge and small dining area downstairs and two comfortable bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Additionally there is a modern sunny orangery UVPC conservatory extension bolted on to the dining area. We were blessed with some fine weather days, during which the conservatory heated up but the rest of the stone cottage remained pleasantly cool, especially as we didn’t bother with the Aga in the kitchen utilising the microwave and separate electric rings instead. Comprehensive information book in the cottage which is also available on line before you visit, and we utilised several of the recommended local pubs and restaurants during our stay. As others have mentioned the location of these self catering accommodation is excellent with both the scenic Brecon Beacons and the superb beaches and coastal walks of the Gower peninsula under an hours drive away, as are several gardens and NT properties. The Plas Cilybebyll Estate has its own circular guided walk around the estate which will take about 90 minutes to complete and affords some great scenic views down the Swansea valley at its highest point. The owners were quick to sort out a couple of teething problems we had and this was a very relaxing break in a superb part of the UK.

Amazing gem of a find self-catering holiday cottages. We stayed in a beautifully modernised & decorated one-bedroom cottage. Very warm, spacious and spotlessly clean. All mod cons, including underfloor heating and a magnificent roll top bath. Absolute bliss to lie in bed with the window or door open, listening to the river running by and birds tweeting. Great place to chill and relax. Stunning countryside. Lovely walk around the farm land. Well sign-posted, through a bluebell wood and farm land. Need wellies/boots this time of year as muddy/wet. Convenience store, chip shop and pubs about 5 min drive away. We choose Plas Farm as a base for exploring ‘waterfall country’ and it didn’t disappoint in anyway.

We were looking for a comfortable and peaceful place to stay in South Wales, we found this and more at Plas Farm. We spent a week in Lloc Llo, a stylish, immaculate cottage with super comfortable beds, comfy sofas and a very well equipped kitchen. The terrace looked onto the river Clydach which flowed between us and Bwthyn y Saer where our son and family came to join us for a few nights. Our grandchildren loved their stay and were thrilled to see a Heron swooping down river and under the bridge as we enjoyed supper on the terrace. There is so much to say about Plas Farm and the historic Cilybebyll Estate but there is an excellent website describing the history of this fascinating place. It is of particular interest to us as my husband’s family hail from this area and he’s researching his family tree. The information folder in the cottage is extensive and has everything you need to know regarding places of interest and more. Richard Bowen has written some fascinating books, he certainly has a way with words! These kept us up late on our first night reading the interesting facts and many humorous tales, also some stunning photographs. The excellent road links provide easy access to the Brecon Beacons National Park, the beautiful Gower Peninsular where the clean beaches have to be seen to be believed. Bustling and very popular Mumbles where restaurants and cafes abound, don’t forget to have an ice cream. Thank you Rachel, David and Richard for making our stay so enjoyable and we look forward to returning next month.
