Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely awful. The toilets are filthy and you have to supply your own toilet roll and pay for the showers. The fields are really sloped so we were rolling out of bed all night. The owner is rude and we were told we had to go to sleep at 11pm! There were people drunk and shouting all night and were shouting abuse at other campers and nothing was done about it. The pool hasn't been open since before covid yet is still advertised. Not nice at all.

We called ahead and advised we had an autistic child and so we we would need to be situated somewhere in respect of the fact he may make some noise. Within two hours the owner Carol stormed up to us at 11pm to complain that we had a "fire" and that they do not allow that, it was actually a bbq to feed my child, we were not making noise amd all of the people near us said they heard nothing, yet Carol decided to aggressively tell us we had to vacate the site first thing, she did this in from of my autistic son who will now have a stigma about that which will last for years to come, I asked her to apologise to him amd she refused. The next night there were two women hurling abuse at other campers, swearing and being obtuse and other campers actually left because Carol did nothing about the abusive women, yet she offered no apology to any of the people at tje receiving end of the abuse. I am actually making an official complaint for aggressive discrimination and I will be actively promoting the fact and that this is absolutely not a family friendly campsite.

AVOID! Not dog friendly and they discriminate breeds. Had availability but due to my dogs ‘breed’ they refused my stay. My dog is more behaved than most children but you are allowed to take your horrible little yappy ‘aggressive’ dog instead.

This was the second time we have stayed at Oxwich Camping Park and it was just a good as the first. Excellent facilities, although the pool isn't open we were so close to the beach that it really didn't matter. We were a group of 5 families and this was not a problem at all. Incredibly friendly owners and staff and everything was spotlessly clean. Nothing was too much trouble and 20p for 7 minutes of hot shower was a bargain.

Just back from a lovely stay at this great campsite. The owners are incredibly welcoming and friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Thank you for letting us borrow your map when we forgot ours. There are two fields and we camped at the top of the slightly sloping field which has lovely views of the sea. We were able to take advantage of the bargain £10/night for over 60's and whilst other campsites often offer these kind of deals it's usually only in low season. 20p for a 7 minute shower or a bowl of hot water for washing up is not expensive. The toilet and shower block was very clean and the showers were lovely and hot. They don't supply loo roll but if you forget they will give you some. We didn't find it an issue to take some with us. We loved the location and we could leave the car there as it's under a 10 minute flat walk to the lovely Oxwich beach (or you can park there for approx £7/day). There are also great walks from the campsite as well. The site doesn't have marked pitches but it was quiet when we stayed so we had lots of space. We like that they don't allow noisy groups and it's couples/family orientated and quiet after 11pm. Some might like to know the swimming pool is closed at the moment, but then you do have the biggest pool in the world only a 10 minute walk away !! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

We had 2 nights at this campsite last weekend to take part in the Midsummer in Gower orienteering event organised by Swansea Bay Orienteers (thanks for all your hard work SBOC - it was brilliant!) and we stayed in the Oxwich campsite. This was a good campsite, although set on an incline it was possible to pitch your tent pretty much on the level. It comprises two large flat fields with a paved access track to the upper field. The toilets, shower etc were on the level of the entrance so in the middle of both fields. Good quality, clean facilities although that may be because they don't provide loo roll in the cubicles. In the ladies there were 3 showers and about 6 or 7 toilets plus plenty of sinks/mirrors. Showers and washing up facilities required 20p coins. The washing up facilities were at the end of the block and there were plenty of sinks/draining boards and sponges etc. There was also a room with electric sockets, sinks and either washing machines or dryers (with coin machines) but I didn't actually use this. The swimming pool was still under a winter cover so I don't know whether that is in use but the sea is very close if you want a swim. Although a large campsite and there were plenty of people staying it was very quiet and peaceful during the night. It was a short walk from the campsite down to the beach and the shop that sold both groceries and fish and chips. I took my EV and so was keen to locate some charging facilities. If you are interested the Beach House restaurant had a charger but it was a 7kWh and cost £30 if you were not a customer. I ended up topping up at the Heritage Centre - and we went for a walk down the valley to the sea while it was charging. Really fast charge and plenty to get us home. I would come back here in a shot for a short break or for longer. Remember to bring plenty of 20 pence pieces and your own loo roll.

Just came back from a two night stay at oxwich camping site. We had a lovely welcome from, im assuming the owner, she was helpful told myself and my boy where everything was and advised us where to pitch as there were other families with children similar age to my boy. The facilities are basic but I always found them to be clean. Remember to take loo roll with you its not the end of the world and there was always plenty of soap available to wash your hands.....I always forgot a hand towel but used loo roll to dry my hands. There are clearly marked bins in the loo for waste as well. The site is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a small but very expensive shop and chip shop.....£8 for 6 chicken nuggets and chips felt a bit steep but they were tasty although a little salty. The owner was also kind enough to refreeze my ice packs whilst we were at the beach. Would recommend this site and will definitely book again.

So the good: Campsite is in a great location, lots of beautiful walks, close to the beach. Sea views from the top field. It's large, and although busy we were pretty well spaced out. The initial price is pretty reasonable... but then the extras... The bad. Taking your own toilet roll is a pain, the fact there are no sanitary bins in the toilet cubicles is not nice, meaning you would have carry a dirty product through the communal area to the one bin at the front (I suspect most put down toilet.) The whole toilet/shower block feels like a prison loud banging doors, bare and not particularly clean. There's only one and its quite a walk if you are at top/bottom of fields. Similarly there are a lot of NO signs everywhere so you feel you are always getting told off! Very popular with families with lots of kids playing everywhere (but necessarily a bad thing just not our vibe having come from a really peaceful campsite) The fields are sloped. So don't expect a flat night sleep! Swimming pool not open (May be too early?) We were lucky as the weather was wonderful and had a pleasant enough stay, but with a few easy changes they could make would rate much higher

Clean, accommodating and friendly family-run campsite in an ideal location. Peaceful, great views - great for my solo cycle tour. Planned 1 night, stayed for 3, looking forward to staying again. The owner went out of her way to help me out, e.g. when I got lost and arrived late after dark. She was flexible with finding me an ideal camping spot, let me charge my phone & powerpacks in the day, and offered great local tips for the nicer things to check out (i.e. Worm's Head & Rhossili Bay). Otherwise I was left to enjoy the scenery in peace. This is a wonderfully quiet campsite at night, surprising given how many people stayed. Dogs, kids and families all seemed quite happy and everyone was very friendly and chatty.
