2nd season as a lunchtime venue with local shoot. We breakfast lunch and tea here and they really look after us. Fresh egg and bacon roll, good coffee. Back for great bread and soup and well cooked partridge - then a cup of tea and Rocky Road at tea time. Plenty of exercise

Very jealous that you are travelling in a motorhome! My dream! There is parking next to the King's Arms which is National Trust owned but when we stayed there we got a voucher to put in the windscreen of the car so as not to pay parking. Come to think of it , there was a camper van parked next to us with a voucher in the window too as they were guests. Best advice is to contact them direct to see if this voucher system is still in place. Hope this helps

Dear Fearless, thanks for popping by and checking us out. In answer to your question, no appointment is necessary, and I shall be having words with all of the staff. The smokehouse is available during kitchen opening times although during busy periods a wait should be expected. The smokehouse runs through our kitchen, and we can only prepare the orders as and when they come in. So if we are busy with diners we need to prioritise to ensure that things run smoothly. We do have a pre order form on our website many people use, this gives us the opportunity to prepare items before people arrive. I am sorry if this was not explained and wish you a happy stay wherever you decide to stop over later in November. Thanks you for these comments I assure you they will all be raised later today.

Dear Sharon. We have never and will never refuse to serve guide dog owners or even normal dog owners here, we openly welcome visitors with dogs, Visually impaired or just recreational visitors and have for over 14 years.

Not in any way shape or form. We are dog friendly and allow all types of dogs full access to the premises, working or otherwise. We even serve dogs dinners and snacks. We couldn't be more dog friendly if we tried.
