Desperately hungry and looking for sustenance I pulled into this hotel as the signboards outside advertised all manner of meals and said that food was served Mon-Sat 1200-1430. Two ladies behind the bar, no welcoming smile, a continued conversation before acknowledging me and then it turns out that at 1420 they have stopped serving food. Either stick to your advertised...

Nice hotel with something of a historic past. Staff were very friendly, particularly the lady running the breakfast. Probably one of the better places to have a beer, though I also liked the Huntsman pub nearby.

We recently stayed here overnight whilst attending a friends wedding.I know the George to be a popular eating venue having occasion to visit this hostelry on previous occasions. The staff without exception are friendly, professional and welcoming. The bedroom we stayed in whilst spacious and clean, reminded me of my childhood, dated and jaded..we are talking about the 1960's here, save for the fact that the...

Stayed one night of business and no found it very good value for money. £70 including vatt. Room was large an guess and ok, Not the newest of decor but no complaints. Staff are really helpful and friendly and the bar serves an excellent selection of beer that is kept to a fine standard. Full English breakfast was really good....

We stayed here the other night by chance - we'd come to Barton for the day, popped in for a few pints and decided to stay the night. We were quoted £80 for the night which seemed a bit steep but with my wily negotiation skills knocked that down to £70. Another attempt at the bar proved fruitless, but then...

Highly reccommend this wonderful pub. "Fine Dining" on the sign outside describes it perfectly! And at a very reasonable price. Lasagne was absolutely delicious with the best garlic bread I've ever tasted. Mum had scampi with homemade chips, yum! Thank you so much to the staff for making us so welcome and making our trip to Barton worthwhile.

We stayed in a group of four friends visiting someone we know at Barton last weekend and enjoyed our visit. Rooms were to a good standard and value for money. Breakfast was good and we would stay again. Would recommend a short stay as the town is pretty quiet.

Having stayed at the George Inn for the last 6 months for work reasons, I have to say that the owners, Jim and Sarah and all the staff have been first class. The rooms that I have used have all been excellently presented, clean and comfortable. The bar, meals and breakfasts are also well presented and all the staff are...
