Enjoyed everything about the Brownlow Arms, the village location is picturesque & the property itself, a 17th century inn, handsome & inviting. Accommodation is in an adjacent courtyard & has been tastefully incorporated. Our room was compact, cosy, & prettily decorated in country style fabrics & pastel hues. The fit out has been done well & to a good standard....

I arrived mid-afternoon and the place was in darkness. I parked on the large car park and went to the main door, which was locked. However there was a large sign advising me to ring the bell. As soon as I did the door opened and I was given a lovely welcome, and my bag was carried to my room....

We are a young couple in our 30s. We booked the Brownlow Arms for our anniversary and the need for a night away as new parents. The Brownlow Arms delivered everything we expected. It's a quiet country hotel, situated in a lovely, quaint village. Although we didn't have dinner here, the bar/restaurant looked atmospheric and was very tastefully decorated. Our...

I booked this for my husband for a birthday break . What a treat. The room was beautiful, the most comfortable bed in the world ( probably). The food was fabulous , couldn't fault any of it. Highly recommended.

We booked a Sunday lunch to celebrate our friends' 50th Wedding Anniversary - the restaurant did not let us down. The Brownlow Arms, especially on a Sunday lunch-time is very popular, so don't expect to sit quietly contemplating life - join in and enjoy! Pre-lunch drinks in the busy bar were lovely; I had requested a window table - it...

Three years on we have returned to stay at Belton Woods and had a wonderful evening with 4 meals which were all beautifully cooked and presented. Our memory of our last meal in 2013 was wonderful and we were not disappointed on Thursday 22nd October 2016. Excellent food, excellent service hope to go back again soon. B E Robinson Whitby

We visited this pub/ restaurant on a Tuesday evening and ate in the restaurant. Its ambiance was good, the service polite and friendly and the menu offered a good range of choices. My wife had pork which she enjoyed, I had Sole which was bland, overpriced and overcooked. Our desserts were OK. Overall I was quite disappointed with the quality...

We stayed the night with our 5 month old baby and had dinner in the restaurant. They did not seem very used to babies but made us extremely welcome and made a big fuss of him at breakfast. The dinner is great food and quite formal but they found a quiet corner for us. A very pleasant stay.

Beautifully decorated, understated elegance, very nice ambiance accompanied by good food. My three friends were delighted with their dishes but unfortunately my steak was so tough that it was inedible. I had to send it back. Again, unfortunately their replacement dish was an overcooked fish. Despite this I would still recommend this restaurant. I was unlucky!
