Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very welcoming staff. Good food. Comfortable bed and lovely room. The dogs were treated well and as the hotel backs onto the New Forest it is easy to walk with the dogs. A very good place to stay.

Our room was adequate and met our requirements for a twin-bedded room. The en-suite bathroom was satisfactory. The setting of the hotel is superb, the grounds of the hotel lead directly into the New Forest and so are ideal for walkers.

We loved our stay, it’s a beautiful hotel, the room was lovely. Everything was clean and the reception area is very welcoming. The games room is a brilliant idea and we made full use of it. Without exception the staff at the hotel are so nice, friendly, helpful and cheerful. They are all a credit to the hotel and it didn’t feel forced it was a genuinely happy environment. I was so grateful for the candles on my partners cake (which I had forgotten) and the iced Happy Birthday, it was so kind and he loved it, so thank you. I would highly recommend Woodlands and I’ve put a review on Booking.com, thanks again. Sue

We were delighted with our weekend in the New Forest. The hotel is stylishly decorated and comfortable. (A little bit of TLC is needed to some paintwork). We ate in the bar and the restaurant and the meals were imaginative and tasty. The lady who was receptionist, waitress and bartender ... on Sunday and Monday is a splendid hostess. It was great to be able to walk straight into the forest.

Woodlands Lodge Hotel in the New Forest is a family run hotel with no bells and whistles and offers good value for your money. The staff are very friendly and responsive to your requests. The beds are comfortable and room service is good. Dogs are welcome . Menu choices are good and if you want a “special” meal just ask giving 24 hours notice…..if it can be done it will be !!! The hotel gardens lead straight into the forest which is a bonus

Excellent as always. Great room, warm, attentive staff and lovely food. Some hotels say they welcome dogs but place many restrictions; this hotel genuinely does make everyone welcome, even the furry kind!

We have been to the Woodlands on many occasions and decided to take the hotel exclusively for 3 nights for a big birthday celebration for 31 friends and family and 4 dogs! Without exception everyone agreed that it was a fabulous location fantastic food and drink and Imogene and Rob along with their amazing staff could not have made us more welcome. We will certainly never forget the weekend and look forward to many more visits - thanks again to all - Jackie and Dave

We enjoyed our stay at the Woodlands Lodge Hotel very much. It’s based right at the edge of the New Forest and quietly nestled into the woods. We found the staff to be very kind and helpful, so we felt right at home. The bedroom as well as the hotel overall was clean and tidy, and the food is excellent. So if you‘re looking for a place to stay when wanting to explore the great outdoors in the New Forest, this is the perfect place.
