We have had a caravan for a few years and have decided this year to venture out to different campsites. We enjoyed staying at Applewood despite it being very different to what we’re used it. It was clean. The wardens were friendly. The facilities were good, clean and well kept.

Our daughter got married at Applewood Hall last week and then several of our family stayed overnight in the pods and for four days in the shepherd huts. We loved the pods and had everything we all needed. Very cosy ! The toilets, showers were all good and in working order and

A very acceptable campsite. Previous reviews moaned about the showers and whilst there were not enough they were more than fine for camping. The staff were great and when we had a problem with our hook up they came and resolved it immediately! Campsite was clean and tidy and

Dear Mr Nevin We are very sorry to hear that you feel the standards of our campsite facilities were not up to our usual high standards during your recent stay. We have two buildings both containing showers, toilets, wash basins, laundry and washing up facilities – one on the main site and one on Laurel Meadow, so there are always plenty of showers and toilets available for use. All of these are cleaned and checked at least twice daily during our busy periods. We provide the mop and mop bucket filled with fresh clean, warm water for people to use should they wish as the floor does occasionally get grassy or muddy during bad weather. As this is used by the general public we are unable to add any chemicals or detergents to this water as a health and safety precaution. Our Park Wardens did come and replace the mop head with a brand new one on Saturday afternoon as they also noticed that it was getting a little worn. Sadly we have had somebody break a toilet seat and the flushing handle in the gents toilets this weekend, which has now been fixed. I can assure you that this is not the same toilet seat that was broken in May as that was replaced promptly after being reported broken following the last bank holiday. Our grass is cut weekly (weather depending) and occasionally we have people onsite when the grass is being cut so their pitch has to be mowed around until they leave so I do apologise if this was the case on your pitch. If you had come to Park Reception we would have been more than happy to move you to a different pitch if this was an issue. We are aware our current wash facilities are dated so we have heavily invested in a new shower building which work is due to start on in just a few weeks time. These will be completed for the start of next year when we open in February 2019. Kind regards Karen
